Brief Bio: Known as Gouki in Japan, Akuma is the brother of Ken and Ryu's sensei, and was rumored to have killed Gouken, though he is very much alive in SFIV. Even if not guilty of fratricide, he definitely killed his master after discovering the dark powers that fuel him, and wears his late master's prayer beads around his neck. Akuma is one of the top bad guys in the SF universe, and was big in the Alpha sub-series. He's normally cast as Ryu's main enemy, pushing him on a darker path. Perennial loser Dan also sees Akuma as a rival, while Akuma just ignores him.

Powers: Akuma wields the power of the Dark Hadou, which magnifies his already highly exceptional fighting skills.

Equally consumed by hatred, the symbiote was attracted to Brocks fierce emotion and bonded with him in order to survive, transforming Brock in to the super-villain known as Venom. Venom has proven time and time again, to be a more than formidable foe for Spider-Man and many other Marvel heroes. Driven by hate and gifted with immense power, Venom is one bad guy who won't go down easily.

their both pretty good but akuma would definatly win. If you take the worst akuma player and put him aginst the best venom player that would be a intresting match.

the big deal about this as compared to previous versions of the game is the fact u can play it online and that is a major selling point and it will do to tide me over till they do do a brand new 1 i had it on dreamcast aswell & loved it but got bored beating the computter over & over again no chance of that with this as will be going straight on line after a few warm up matches against the comp and at least i wont have to unlock all the characters again as that did take ages on the original dreamcast and 1200 microsoft points bargain. :venom:O and Akuma would win easy but i prefer to use venom

[quote@geekman310 [quote@luis0 why don't they have it for the wii....man this sucks
we need both a marvel vs capcon 3 and a new x men next generation(mutant acadamy) :grider:
I agree. I don't get all the fuss about this game. It's hella old and doesn't even have next-gen graphics. How many times/systems does this game need to be on? I orginally had it on my Dreamcast, then PS2, then Xbox..how about a completely NEW Marvel vs. Capcom game?? :mystique:

Venom all the way. Better launcher, better air combos, better throw, and Akuma literally takes damage like a little girl (Roll).

Best Assist - Akuma (expansion; paralyzes target in electricity)Best Hyper Attack - Akuma (Dark Shinku Hadouken or Raging Demon)Best Overall Defense - Venom (Akuma does NOT take damage well)Best Range - Venom (HP goes 3/4th across screen)Best Overall Offense - AkumaMost Style - Akuma (Raging Demon, king of all flashy supers)Best Striking - Tie (Venom does more damage, but Akuma has more combo-ability)Best Launcher - Venom (greater range)Best Combos - AkumaBest Air Combos - Akuma (can integrate air fireball and super air fireball)Best Speed - AkumaIn a battle...The match wouldn't necessarily be quick, but a good Akuma player SHOULD school a good Venom player. However, the margin of error is nil; if the Akuma player makes a mistake, Venom DEFINITELY could pull off an upset because Akuma has NO STAMINA, whereas Venom can take a few good shots before he's in trouble. Venom is more valuable as a part of the team than as its chief fighter.Winner: Akuma, 8 times out of 10.*Quite frankly, I like putting these guys on the same team. Using their expansion assists, they create a LOT of offensive pressure.

This is a curb stomp. Akuma wins. No contest.Akuma is extremely powerful. He once shot a fireball from earth that destroyed a giant asteroid in space.

What this should have been is a lead up to the release of MvsC3 or at the very least a MvsC 4 issue story. Also, I give it to Akuma, only because they made Venom kinda weak in the game. Akuma is too well rounded of a character despite the fact that he takes damage way to easily.
