Cyclops

Fighter Name: Cyclops

Real Name: Scott Summers

Universe: Marvel, X-Men

First Appearance: UNCANNY X-MEN #1

Marvel/Capcom Game Appearances: "X-Men: Children of the Atom," "X-Men vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"

Citizenship: USA

Brief Bio: Leading the X-Men has never been easy, but Scott Summers always makes it look like a walk in the park. After losing his parents in a plane crash, Cyclops found a new family in the first X-Men team alongside Beast, Iceman, Angel and future wife, Marvel Girl. His strategic thinking, courage, and awesome optic blasts made him the most obvious choice to lead the motley crew of mutants and he has been the field leader of the X-Men ever since. Whether he's battling the worst that humanity and mutantkind have to offer or even becoming the unwilling host for Apocalypse, one of the X-Men's greatest enemies, Cyclops proves that with heart, determination and a little help from your friends, anything is possible.

Powers: Cyclops fires incredibly powerful force blasts from his eyes, beams strong enough to shatter mountains. Cyke's also a master strategist and skilled hand-to-hand fighter.

Special Moves: Optic Blast, Optic Sweep, Optic Hold, Gene Splice, Cyclone Kick, Rushing Punches, Running Tackle, Super Optic Blast, Mega Optic Blast

Quote: "You should have stepped aside."

Ken

Fighter Name: Ken

Real Name: Ken Masters

Universe: Capcom, Street Fighter

First Appearance: "Street Fighter"

Marvel/Capcom Game Appearances: "X-Men vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter," "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"

Citizenship: USA

Brief Bio: One half of the main duo in "Street Fighter," Ken has been around from the beginning. The American fighter trained with Ryu under Gouken and has a similar, but subtly different fighting style. The best example is that while Ryu is the master of the Hadouken, Ken is the best at the fiery uppercut Shoryuken. A well-known fighter internationally, Ken is always seen as Ryu's equal, but has much more of a social life. He eventually has a child named Mel with his wife, Guile's sister-in-law, and goes on to train a new fighter named Sean, one of Ryu's rivals in "SFIII."

Powers: Ken is a brilliant and creative martial artist trained in Shotokan karate. His signature move is the flaming Shoryuken, the Dragon Punch.

Special Moves: Hadouken, Shoryuuken, Tatsumaki-Senpuu Kyaku, Zenpou Tenshin, Shoryuu-Reppa, Shinryuken, Shippu-Jinrai Kyaku

Quote: "So now you know what it feels like to be a loser."

HEY, WHEN THE HELL THE GAME WILL COME OUT??, ON WIKIPEDIA IS WRITTEN THAT TOMORROW IS THE GREAT DAY BUT I HAVE MY DOUBTS.

HECK yes, THIS is a good match! And really, a lot depends on which version of the game you're playing on. One version gives the Shotokan warriors a glitch advantage: a midair hurricane kick that does insane damage.Other than that, here's how I see it in a point-by-point analysis:Best Projectile - Cyclops. His optic beams hit almost instantaneously, whereas Ken's doesn't even go the entire screen.Best Launcher - Ken. Not because of the launcher itself, but because of what happens AFTER the launch. Shotokan warriors run a pretty filthy mid-air combo that involves a mid-air hurricane kick, and if the glitch is activated (which I referred to earlier), they can literally kill anyone in almost a single air-combo. So WATCH OUT!Best Overall Offense - Cyclops. Before you get upset, here's why: he has two unblockable, untechable throws that most players don't even know about. Try it yourself: DB+HK and HCB+P. Also, he has two auto-combo moves that work by just tapping the attack button repeatedly--- B,F+P and DP+P. Not to mention, his Super Optic Blast fills THE ENTIRE SCREEN.Best Speed - Ken. This is where Ken shines. He can get to his targets faster, pursue harder, and combo quicker. His basic punches and kicks link together very nicelyBest Defense - Cyclops. The only reason I give him this is because his optic blast is a heck of a keep-away move, and Ken doesn't have many keep-aways. Plus, Cyclops takes hits just a little better, similar to Captain America.Best Hyper Moves - Ken. The thing that gives Ken an advantage is his invincibility frames. On his Shoryu-Reppa, he owns EVERYBODY for the first few frames. Say Cyclops uses Super Optic Blast at close range on Ken; if Ken is activating his Shoryu-Reppa, it will go right through the beam for the first split second and give him the hit! Also, Shinryuken has this same property. Once, vs. the Hulk, Hulk began to come out of the sky with his meteor attack. And right when I should've been pancaked, I activated Shinryuken and went RIGHT THROUGH THE ROCK, finishing the Hulk in a blaze of glory!Best Assists - Tie. Cyclops optic blast is great for interrupting opponents. Ken's rising hurricane kick leaves enemies powerless for a time, dangling in midair and wide open to attack. In a one-on-one contest (on the game), I say the match goes to Cyclops. Why? Ken's one true weakness is lag time; several of his moves leave him wide open for a time. And Cyclops capitalizes on punishing people for mistakes. So it's ultimate exploitation of weaknesses.Cyclops for the win, 7-out-of-10.
