After escaping from the Weapon X project, where he gained his unbreakable adamantium skeleton, he became one of Canada’s first super heroes and later joined Professor Xavier’s X-Men. Since then, Wolverine has travelled the length and breadth of the globe fighting super villains and evil mutants as an X-Man and as an Avenger, one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Akuma character art from "Marvel vs. Capcom 3"

Akuma
Universe:
Capcom, Street Fighter
First Appearance:
“Super Street Fighter II Turbo” 1994
Real Name:
Akuma
Alignment:
Villain
Brief Bio:
Both Akuma and his brother Gouken studied Ansatsuken under their master Gotetsu. But while Gouken focused on the non-lethal aspects of their martial art, Akuma embraced the dark and lethal side, the Dark Hadou. Akuma killed Gotetsu and nearly killed Gouken with his most dangerous technique, the Shun Goku Satsu. He now travels the world looking for one final fight to the death and hopes that Ryu, his brother’s best pupil, will provide him with his last battle.
Powers:
A master martial artist, Akuma has embraced the Dark Hadou, possibly becoming the most dangerous warrior alive. He can channel his chi into fireballs, his Shoryuken uppercut and Hurrican Kick are lethal, and he can release all of his rage in one final murderous technique, the Shun Goku Satsu.
Play Style:
Akuma is all about doing as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time because once he gets hit, it's lights out. Akuma can use Demon Flip mix-ups to get in and land his Hurricane Kick, which sets him up for a free launcher. Once airborne, Akuma can land one of two air fireball hypers, either in the air combo or off of an OTG fireball. Akuma has ridiculously quick normals, brutal combos and a Level 3 Shun Goku Statsu will keep opponents on their toes.

Wolverine has healing factor and Akuma has no healing ability. So Wolverine will win.

Yeah, Akuma's only strong enough to sink a military submarine and split Ayers Rock with one blow. Also, with his Raging Demon he can only pass evil spirits into your mind from his own. He doesn't stand a chance./Sarcasm.

Wolverine Dude! Akuma has nothing that can keep Wolvie down with. Unless the Hulk bear hugs Wolverine for him.

i like wolverine but i have to go w/ akuma b/c akuma have better hand to hand combat, his hadoken is badass, and if akuma do a raging demon on wolverine in the videogame or comicbook i think wolverine healing power cant heal him after fighting akuma

He's not possessed, thats just his evil aura(like the aura from Goku going super saiyan), hes just strong enough that his energy emits from his body. Wolverine's bones are indestructible, Akuma could dislocate a few bones but not break. Wolverine can chop straight threw him. And they should make a movie.

Akuma is defiantly the better fighter in MvC3, but in comic book worlds i would go with Wolverine. Akuma can be killed but Wolverine cant. I'm pretty sure Wolverine can take a few fireballs.

Isint Akuma supposed to be possesed by a Demon? If so he could probly break wolverines adamantium bones. Also if wolverines moves are all based on charging melle attack Akumas fireballs and demon grab super would pwn wolverine. They should make a "Wolverine vs Akuma" animated movie.

One way to look at it is to compare the people they fight. Wolverine fights people with all sorts of mutant abilities. Akuma pretty much fights regular people besides people who got trained to shoot fireballs aswell. Not only is wolverine laced with indestructable metal, but has a healing factor. What saves Akumas bones from being broke, or after he is stabbed will he heal back? In the video game its hard to say. Just depends who is using them and what assists they use. IMO

Vega has a claw yet he doesn't tear apart any of the other Street Fighters because they're at a level in which, they can deal with weapons as well as they can deal with punches or kicks.I'm sorry but Akuma would completely destroy Wolverine. He wouldn't be able to kill him but the raging demon would render Wolverine completely uncouncious. Which IMO counts as a victory.

could you put a draw checkbox??, please, i won't vote in this one because it is a give and take never ending battle, if you put any of these two against anyone else surely i would have vote for wolverine or gouki, because they are the best fighters of all, not just marvel or capcom, of ALL.

sigh @ all of u...the poll states: who would be the better brawler in MvC3... akuma has better combos, launchers and gameplay, so akuma wins. also, just because wolverine can't die, it doesn't make him a better fighter :S loved how ryu cracked his jaw with that uppercut in the trailer :D and no, i'm not a capcom fanboy, spiderman rulez all!!! :D:D:D

in the game..akumas gonna be better.if they fought in a comic wolverine would murder him no matter how many fireball he has to eat.especially after the manifest desiny series

As long as Akuma could stay way from Wolverines claws, he might survive for a little while. But once an arm or leg was chopped off it would be over for Akuma...Good luck to Akuma.

The one that can't be killed is the one with the advantage.

I know were all marvel fans but be realistic akuma is far more stronger and alot more technical not to mention he keeps his cool during battle unlike wolverine

Well, Wolverine takes it because he can't be killed of course. Yeah, you can knock him out, but there's no way to totally destroy him. If you count him being put out of commission for a little bit as a win, then Akuma may be able to best him.

What good are lethal martial arts techniques against a man who I'm pretty sure can't be killed in the traditional sense? Wolverine wins, of course.
