Universe: Capcom, Street Fighter
First Appearance: “Super Street Fighter II Turbo” 1994
Real Name: Akuma
Brief Bio: Both Akuma and his brother Gouken studied Ansatsuken under their master Gotetsu. But while Gouken focused on the non-lethal aspects of their martial art, Akuma embraced the dark and lethal side, the Dark Hadou. Akuma killed Gotetsu and nearly killed Gouken with his most dangerous technique, the Shun Goku Satsu. He now travels the world looking for one final fight to the death and hopes that Ryu, his brother’s best pupil, will provide him with his last battle.
Powers: A master martial artist, Akuma has embraced the Dark Hadou, possibly becoming the most dangerous warrior alive. He can channel his chi into fireballs, his Shoryuken uppercut and Hurrican Kick are lethal, and he can release all of his rage in one final murderous technique, the Shun Goku Satsu.
Play Style: Akuma is all about doing as much damage as possible in the shortest amount of time because once he gets hit, it's lights out. Akuma can use Demon Flip mix-ups to get in and land his Hurricane Kick, which sets him up for a free launcher. Once airborne, Akuma can land one of two air fireball hypers, either in the air combo or off of an OTG fireball. Akuma has ridiculously quick normals, brutal combos and a Level 3 Shun Goku Statsu will keep opponents on their toes.
