Deadpool
Universe:
Marvel, X-Men
First Appearance: THE NEW MUTANTS #98
Real Name: Wade Wilson
Alignment: Mercenary
Brief Bio: A teenage delinquent turned mercenary, Wade Wilson has a lot of experience in the assassination game.  However the man who would be Deadpool came down with cancer, leading him to take part in the Weapon X program, hoping to find a cure.  His cancer was cured but his body was terribly scarred as a result.  Experimented on by the nefarious Dr. Killebrew, Wade very literally lost his mind and gained a motor mouth that never stops running.  Now he’s a wisecracking killing machine ready and willing to do just about anything for the right price.
Powers: Deadpool has a healing factor derived from Wolverine’s, which allows him to recuperate from nearly any injury at a super human rate.  He’s also a master swordsman and marksman and his sense of humor and comedic timing are second to none.
Play Style: A little on the slow side, Deadpool’s fast projectiles make up for what he lacks in rush down pressure.  His Trigger Happy bullet storm can be cancelled into his Happy-Happy Trigger hyper for some great damage and quality DHC capabilities.  Katana-Rama! gives you a wall bounce you can use for a guaranteed hyper or relaunch into more Poolie shenanigans.  Heck, play Deadpool just for his awesome animations and witty one-liners, you won’t be disappointed.

Dante character art from "Marvel vs. Capcom 3"

Dante
Universe:
Capcom, Devil May Cry
First Appearance: "Devil May Cry"
Real Name: Dante
Alignment: Hero
Brief Bio: One of two twins born to the demon Sparda and his human consort Eva, Dante’s always walked the line between our world and a world you’ve only seen in your darkest nightmares.  After his mother was murdered by the denizens of that dark realm Dante dedicated himself to their absolute eradication.  Now he runs the Devil May Cry demon-slaying business, taking out supernatural threats with a smile on his face, his sword Rebellion at his side, and his twin pistols Ebony and Ivory blazing, showering bullets into the creatures that overstep their bounds and mess with our world.
Powers
: Dante is half demon and as such possesses super human strength, speed, agility, and reflexes.  He heals from injuries at incredible speeds and once he activates his “Devil Trigger” his powers skyrocket into the stratosphere.  Oh and we can’t forget about his uncanny sense of style.
Play Style:
The Son of Sparda has an answer for nearly every situation he might find himself in.  While he can’t play the best rushdown game, his normals are slower than most, his teleport always puts him above and behind his enemies head in a perfect position to punish those not paying attention.  Dante’s Million Dollars hyper is easily comboed into off of a slew of his special attacks and works great by itself or in any DHC situation.  Really, with over 40 special moves at his disposal and his Devil Trigger, which enhances all of his abilities, you can play him any way you feel like.
