Captain America
Universe:
 Marvel, Captain America, The Avengers
First Appearance:
CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS #1
Real Name:
Steve Rogers
Alignment:
Hero
Brief Bio:
Determined to serve his country during World War II despite being unfit for service, Steve Rogers volunteered to for the Army's Super Soldier Program, becaming the Sentinel of Liberty, Captain America. He fought the good fight until he fell into the Arctic Ocean while trying to stop an Nazi drone plane, and was frozen in a block of ice until the Avengers discovered him years later. A man out of time, you might he think he’d be rusty after all that time he spent in the ocean but you’d be wrong--painfully wrong--just as many a super villain has discovered first-hand.
Abilities:
Fueled by the amazing Super Soldier Serum, Captain America has super-human strength, speed, agility and reflexes. He is one of the world’s best hand-to-hand fighters and with his shield on his arm he can take down a troop of enemies with one well-placed toss.
Play Style:
Captain America knows how to take a hit, and hits back even harder. He has some great range on his crouching magic series and his launcher, assuring some nice aerial combos can be started from max distance. He also has a double jump, which lets him extend those air combos into something a little more substantial. His Hyper Charging Star eats projectiles, giving him a leg up on spammers and his Shield Slash projectile is dangerous for all of its active frames--if Cap doesn’t get hit. You need to worry about it on the way out as well as on the way back. And Final Justice?  So awesome.

Wesker character art from "Marvel vs. Capcom 3"

Wesker
Universe:
Capcom, Resident Evil
First Appearance:
“Resident Evil”
Real Name:
Albert Wesker
Alignment:
Villain
Brief Bio:
Once the leader of the same S.T.A.R.S. outfit as the stalwart heroes of the "Resident Evil" series, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, Wesker turned out to be a bad seed. A really bad seed. He betrayed his team to the Umbrella Corporation, infected himself with a virus that granted him super-human abilities, and set out to recreate the world in his own image with only one goal in mind: Complete global saturation.
Abilities:
Infected with an unknown virus, Wesker gained super-human strength, speed, reflexes and agility. Already incredibly intelligent, his manipulative mind may be his most dangerous asset.
Play Style:
Wesker’s teleports make him incredibly dangerous, capable of zipping around the screen in the blink of an eye, and making it difficult to get a bead on him. Not only that, but he can utilize them to extend his combos, so they’re much more than just a mobility option. In the air he can combo into his Phantom Dance hyper for some added damage and if your opponent is getting a little too predictable his Rhino Charge counter hyper will make them pay. Wesker is all about speed and keeping the enemy off-balance and he has all the tools he needs to pull that off.

Cap is the ultimate strategizer. All thought his comics he fought people bigger and faster then himselve and always came out on top. no chance he loses this fight.

ok, here comes yet another complaint about how the video has nothing to do with the arcticle. whenever this site puts a mvsc3 x vs y character article the cororsponding videos do not really have much to do with the characters or thier move sets, or even what they do when fighting agaisnt eachother. For example, the first video above does have wesker in it, however it did not give a clear showcase of his moves as described in the arcticel, and he wasent fighting against captain america. The 2nd video had nothing to do with iether characters. Why not just make one video that is actually a fight between the 2 characters showcased in the arcticle, and not just some random video. Seems that their just posting a random vid that may or may not actually feature a character from the arcticle, and have yet to see one of these articales actaully feature a vs fight using the 2 characters they are writing about.
