This will be mostly be opinionated, but I think there is a mixture of variables that are causing problems with the viewers, the key factor here is "nostalgia" which I have personally experienced in comparing comic quality vs movie/show.

There is a dislike for Disney writers who try to make tv shows in tune with the time vs  80/90's story writing (which was in tune with its own time). In my opinion, I can not stand the shows on most cartoon Channels now(most of all, the poor excuse for live action shows Disney regurgitates out over and over)and I don't really use my television any more. If shows now where written as if they existed in the 90's, would they be better? Maybe, but it would have the nostalgia we love and crave.

Disney probably wants to only expect an audience no older that 10 or 12 now, not family entertainment any more, which really hurts the feelings of older viewers (who want to feel nostalgia). Once Disney realizes a show has gained maturity, they decide to slowly snuff out the show. Shows like Tron: Uprising with innovative animation and mature/darker story line (reminder; personal opinion) are unexpectedly moved to a channel you have to buy to watch. Then moved to where you have to be up all night or wake up at 3am to watch and from there after its aired less and less, till it vanishes.

AA is not "terrible" yet is not good either. I did not enjoy it but I didn't hate it. Its not going to be something I'll revisit more than 2 times, and as a Fine Arts major will not look to as a good visual inspiration for my own work. At least at some points of the show I was able squeeze out a bit of enjoyment; yet not want to rip my eyes and ears off.

Will there ever be a serious and good animated rendition of Marvel comics ever again? Who knows, but I'd like to see. I'd say I'm better of sticking to the comic books, than putting my hopes on Disney pulling through. Will I be gullible enough to watch the second season? Unfortunately, yes. At least Agent's of Shield is decent/enjoyable.

Thank you

I just heard Marvel is planning to change the show's dynamics, I really don't care about what they decide to do anymore or for what audience they plan to do it for, I don't hate it(at all) but I am quite disappointed, when I discovered they were going to do a new Avengers' series  in a MOVIE VERSION I thought like any other Legit Follower that they were going to interact and manage the story properly like any other Marvel Masterwork. But I'm done, I just realized I'm not going to change THIS so let's quit it, Avengers Assemble already has a second season,Marvel is going to continue this until they want to and all what is left us to do is just stare and watch the world end in front of our eyes and try, really try to respect Marvel's decision even if they are far from been right. OK

The main thing that I'm disappointed about is the treatment of Bruce Banner in the cartoon series. The others act like it's a perfectly acceptable thing for someone to only be "allowed out" one day a month. I'm glad that they used that phrase in the cartoon as there is a negative connotation to it, but despite that it's still treated casually which ruffles my feathers. And in Avengers Assemble, we don't even see him out except for that alternate timeline episode!

Dr. Banner is a genius of Tony's caliber. The interactions between the two of them in the Avengers movie and some of the comic books was awesome. I really hope things will be changing in the cartoon during Season 2! I'd love to see the Mark Ruffalo version of Dr. Banner.

I'll hate what I want to hate and I hate Avengers Assemble.... I hate Hulk and Agents of SMASH and I hate Ultimate Spiderman... just because they're made for kids doesn't mean they have to be stupid... and comparing it to Adventure Time (which is a hellova lot better than these) is like comparing apples and coconuts,

I notice that the entire first season of "Avengers Assemble" is available on iTunes, but I was wondering when it would be released on DVD, like the season premiere and all of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes!" was?  Would it be before Season 2 begins, or not until closer to the end of the year?

You know what .... YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT... Man of Action is from WB/DC  but more that half if not all have work on Marvel Comics for years... I find it hard to believe that they aren't aware of the Avengers history...  Ben 10 and all of its incarnations is a decently written show.. and Generator X despite its limited story lline was also decently written... What would be the point of Man of Action sabotaging Marvel animation?  Disney is telling them what to write, they are the ones signing their paychecks. I see your point, but lets just agree to disagree.

Ms Marvel was hot.. but I wasn't a fan of her red and black outfit... I liked the black (or blue) outfit with the lightning bolt down the front... Does anyone else have any comments on jharden4 well written and well thought out letter... What do you think Wotan135 Vegan70 pascus???

Hey guys, it has been awhile. I noticed that no one has posted anything about the season finale of AA, and I am here to give my opinion about the season thus far. I will welcome any feedback but keep in mind as always, this is my opinion and my belief, just as I have respected everyone else's beliefs, please respect mine. That being said, I feel this whole reboot of the Avengers is pure garbage! The stories are lame as well as the pacing of the show. The characters are not the characters that I have read well before the first Avengers series, Avengers: United They Stand aired, and well after this series. I know some of you are fans of this animation, but to me it is utter garbage at best, it is rushed and the movements suck as I have stated before. But here is something that we all did not discuss fully was the main source of this mess. At first I... like a lot of folks have thought that Disney had a hand in this, however after doing some research and using some deductive reasoning I have came to the conclusion that this was all Marvel's doing. The reason being: Why would Disney tank a show (AEMH) that they have worked so hard with Marvel in airing, producing and promoting a show when they knew a movie adaption was coming within two years? Two: Disney does not seem to promote the new series as they did with AEMH, we use to see many rebroadcast from that series (AEMH), I have not seen that many for AA, if not the case then correct me if I am wrong. Three: I have read somewhere that the president of Marvel Television and Productions (And we all know who that is!) had an major role in this decision because that person in charge wanted shows that would connect with USM being Hulks : Agent of Smash and Avengers Assemble. Four: This person also lied about the production after the backlash with USM saying that this in an continuation of AEMH and that it would not be in the USM universe, and also It was said that this production ( As per on Man in Marvel in his article) was going to be the most expensive Marvel animated production to date and that a lot of care went into the production. Do you all feel that is the case, because I sure don't?!! Five: Why was the Marvel Block moved to an earlier time slot, in fact a time slot so early that if you do get up in time you would miss that show or the whole block all together because the show only aired once a week. Did Disney do that with AEMH? And the fact that no one on this board even bothered within the last few weeks to feel the need to even comment on the season finale! Either that tells me that many of you feel the exact way I do about this show or some of you are happy in where this show is going. Myself, I am totally disappointed and I will not be watching second season at all. If some agree fine, if not that fine also, again this is my belief and grief to bare and I will and cannot hold any malice to anyone that disagrees. Any constructive input will be appreciated, thank guys for hearing my rants, I look forward from hearing from you all.

I hear that the Guardians of the Galaxy are getting their own animated series... I have a real problem with this group... because without Phyla Mar-Vell, Warlock, and Ronin,, this group power level sucks... Drax is nowhere near as powerful as he was before he went all blade wielding ninja death machine. and what about Quasar

I happen to catch Marvel Universe yesterday morning and notice during one of their skits where they try to make real life out what happens in cartoons segment.. the interviewer (I have no idea what his names is) was talking about Hawkeye.. but here's the catch.. the Hawkeye they he was referring to was EMH version.. the classic look.. They showed what is like to blah blah blah, but what what I found interesting was that they only showed the EMH version of Hawkeye and not Avengers Assembly ..  they didn't even mention Avengers Assemble..  Maybe I'm just putting waaaaay to much into it.  Any thoughts people?????

You know the sad thing is, that no one from Marvel is either listening or if they are, can change this. I really believe that Disney has there hooks is this franchise so deep that the creators, writers and animators has to follow their guild lines. Why else would Marvel do a third season of Ultimate Spider-man and a second season of Hulk's AOS knowing how much the true fans hate these shows.

Wotan135
Wotan135

I was really missing The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I think it was one of the best Marvel series in recent times. Avengers Assemble series is OK, but better than nothing. I think that The Avengers: EMH did not have much solved end. After all everywhere still runs number of villains including undefeated Surtur. Also, I like hawkeye with classic costume, vision added to the party, Ms Marvel, etc.. Every episode had something perfect. Somewhere I saw a rough story of the third series. Adding scarlet witch and quicksilver, x-men and the occurrence of magneto (i like him;). I think the series could go back, there's a whole number of diverse characters (which may at any time add or remove in the run of the story, such as ant man), even in non-upgraded classic costumes. Please do mainly third series but if it were a fourth series no one would certainly not mind.

Bring Back The Avengers: EMH please!!

@Voltzahlantihero Well put and well said...I hope that Marvel reads some of this negative reviews (here and on youtube), that they make some changes... I don't think I'm going to put too much faith in comics anymore either...too many major events and waaaay too many number 1's are steering me towards independents... Like you, I'll check out the new season, hopefully the new changes that were mentioned will actually take place...

Mimas2
Mimas2

@Marvelrocks98 I think its Disney who is the deciding factor in this... look at how many other shows that are unwatchable on Disney that they just waste precious money on... the list goes on... have you seen the new Star Wars Rebels .... From the ads for the new show it sucks big time... but back to the Avengers... I'm willing to give the so-called new dynamics a chance,... but if it sucks as bad as Web Warriors does.... I'm done too...

Mimas2
Mimas2

@Athenakt It doesn't make sense.. but they're just seems like they are making an attempt to disassociate Bruce Banner and just concentrate on the Hulk for kids sake... Kids don't really care who Bruce Banner is so why even bother... sad... but true..  In the long run.. why don't they just bring in the Next Avengers.... the children of the Avengers the ones from the video make a series of that for kids and relaunch Earth's Mightiest Heroes for adults, that way everybody's happy...

@franksoto007 aahh man i sooo miss her. i also miss wasp, cause she was always ready for a battle. loved that. and we cannot forget panther, he was just amazingly cool like that. falcon is ok but wayy up iron mans butt too much (fan boy). he is smart and all, but no real personality that makes him.....idk, tight.

Mimas2
Mimas2

@jharden4 Well said... I share you feelings about this charade... but even though its apples and oranges kinda thing... I do have to disagree with you about blaming Marvel for this fiasco... and mainly because all of the Marvel cartoons on disneyXD follow the same example: silly plots, fart jokes, no character development... buy other than that you hit the nail on the head... I had hoped that with the new season of Ultimate Spiderman that somethings would change... they have toned down the fourth wall breaking but not completely... its still unwatchable...I can't imagine Guardians being any better...

Mimas2
Mimas2

@jharden4 where did you hear that Hulk was getting a second season... Last I heard they set to cancel after the 26th episode... and it was Avengers and Spiderman were going on

pascus
pascus

@Wotan135 I agree I soooo agree. I cannot believe that spiderman has survived this long. it is so embarrassing and they seem not to even care. I think it's like JHARDEN said. avengers EMH story with this animation would be amazing, even though they have no idea on how to put a show together, they can do some action scenes. I'm torn, I would like the avengers to have another season but only if they are gonna act like they enjoy their work. the HULK series, gosh they had more cameos in the short time it was on than avengers has had all this time. they have so many to choose from ie. silver surfer, ff, daredevil,x men, etc etc. it's soo not that hard. shake it marvel get those talons out of your back and CREAAATE PEOPLE. work like your proud, work like you want your work noticed in a good way. mimas2i didn't know that hulk had 26 episodes at all.lolol they seemed to be cameoed out and story crashed. lol

Mimas2
Mimas2

@Wotan135 and if not EMH it least make Avengers Assemble continue with EMH's storyline.. and I remember seeing that rough story of the possible third season you're talking about ... it was on youtube.. and if they would have continued on with those stories ... Avengers would be right up there with Justice League instead of running neck and neck with Phineas and Ferb...  as to adding diverse characters... I wouldn't hold my breath... Whomever is going to be in the movie you'll most likely will see in the cartoon... Antman.. Wasp.. maybe Vision, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch... I don't see Spiderman actually joining because like I said before they'll use that worn out excuse he has a team already and that he needs more experience... (The writers on this show are not really into shock value and changing the status quo. They'll just opt for the laziest cliche they can find). Hawkeye's classic costume needs to come back... but I will admit.. he did wear a costume similar to the one he wears on Avengers Assemble in Avengers 98-100 Vol 1.

@Mimas2 @Marvelrocks98 You're totally right there's Disney painted all over this ( obviously) and that's what I hate they don't even know what they're doing...but nevermind. And Web Warriors is...wordless...It's funny, really funny they think that by adding 2 words to the name and introduce some new characters they'll change all THIS...their Marketing Manager is a genius, seriously *sarcastic laugh*

@Marvelrocks98 @Athenakt Joooooiiin uuuuusss! ;) Maybe if the conversation keeps going with more people chiming in, they'll-

Hey, I like that as a slogan...

Athenakt
Athenakt

@Mimas2 @Athenakt I agree; I'd love to see an Avengers cartoon series where we get to see Bruce Banner, possibly demonstrating some of his BannerTech and working side by side with the others!

I figured they felt the kids would appreciate the Hulk more, and "hey there's already lots of scientists in the group, why have another one?" That's poor reasoning IMHO. I hope that conversations like this will be noticed, picked up, and perhaps something might be done about it.

jharden4
jharden4

@Mimas2 @jharden4  I truly believe that this was Marvel Animation/TV's call to make these shows that way, especially the president in charge of Marvel programing. But there is something else that bothers me about this show and that the fact that few Avengers villains are used in this show at all. Where are Kang, Baron Zemo, The Masters of Evil, The Master of the World, Count Nefaria to name a few? Only a person who have worked for DC comics for so long (hint, hint) would be oblivious of this rich history of the Avengers legacy of villains. Any thoughts on that.

jharden4
jharden4

@Mimas2 @jharden4 I read this somewhere online, but do not hold me to that, and I hope this is not true. However, giving the way that Disney keeps bad shows on I would not be a bit surprised.

pascus
pascus

@Marvelrocks98 @Mimas2  I so agree with you both (mimas). I just don't get it. we have come so far in technology and the animation has gone down. why are these people so lazy with their animation and stories? I mean think about it, back in the 80's and 90's the animation was really good ie. spiderman and his amazing friends,hulk,g.I. joe, superfriends, inspector gadget, transformers, mighty orbots, pole position, batman (90's), centurions, spiderman (80's and 90's), I know i'm missing some, but the artwork was very good most was amazing. but they had pride in their work then.  they wanted their show to be number one and be recognized, but now they don't seem to be interested in that at all.  I know if I was going to put that much work into a show I would want it and me to be recognized as good-awesome work. the people who do DC's animation are the exception to this, for sure. DC is the main one who has kept good or at least watchable shows coming. the best show EVER, young justice is a perfect example of having pride in your work and looking to take animation to another level. they had awesome artwork AND story. but why don't these people get it today? do they really think that under 10yrs of age watch this DUMB-DOWNED spiderman or hulk or avengers? They are so out of touch with kids that its sad. NEWSFLASH...... kids are not dumb, simple minded people, they get bored with "selfie"interviews and STUPID little angel and devil spidermen hanging around spidermans head. that's for looney tunes not spiderman. how do you people think the 90's spiderman lasted so long? even though he talked wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much, it still was STUPID. or xmen evolution? cut down before it really was able to take off, it moved wayyy too slow. BUT it was really good animation and the stories were not STUPID. remember when SATURDAY mornings were it?!!! I mean you knew that from 7am till NOON you could go from channel to channel and find good animated shows. now, what? no pride in their work none. it's the parents that get the children to watch in the first place. so put something on that can represent and parents will follow, WITH THEIR KIDS. this is so simple that it's going over their heads. having said all of this, I will give avengers another chance, just cause i'm hungry for a good show, but it better be more on point like some of the other episodes like,by the numbers, bring on the bad guys, and the last two. or we are out.

Mimas2
Mimas2

@Athenakt @Mimas2 If I could remember where I read it I'd offer a link... but the site stated that they are changing the format of Avengers Assemble.  Continuing story-lines, less humor and they are supposedly adding more members.  That has to be from all the bad reviews that the show has been getting, I'm going to try and hunt the link down, but if its true ... then someone at Marvel been listening...

KiddAvenger

@Mimas2 @KiddAvenger Marvel wants to keep their animation legacy with the times as well moving forward, just like the comics & the movies their cartoons gotta keep it up too some people <3 it, some don't, & then they are some people just like you Mimas2 don't have no respecting Marvel's animation at all.

@pascus @Marvelrocks98 @Mimas2 This is exactly what the problem is pascus, for sure. There's something missing here if it's not their pride, creativity, effort or neccessary likeness, there's something up in Marvel and just don't want, don't really want to accept or even to say that Marvel has a brief flaw in his lately works if it continues like this they may have a sudden loss. Even do,we, Marvel fans, we are loyal above everything at least IF you are a real one.I'm not underestimating or undervaluing Marvel just their animation if we take this to a close future, what, 5 to 10 years  this show will be vanish (except that it will stay in our nightmares remembering this storylines...) We want something we can remember in our hearts and mind, think of it and just say, it was really worth to see, enjoyable and smart

@KiddAvenger @Mimas2 You dissing and backwards character assessments are tiresome...  If Marvel animation wanted to keep with the times they'd look at Korra, almost anything at DC.  and then they'd notice that their story telling leaves a lot to be desired .. look at any of their recent DVDs THEY SUCK... and unlike you I don't like everything that Marvel ... JUST BECAUSE ITS MARVEL ...

@jharden4 @Mimas2  MIMAS idk I think or hope that they have listened to what has been said and revamp thia potentially amazing show. I think season 2 will step it up a bit and maybe shut up Hawkeye a bit, have a real story, and have some pride in what they are putting out. I know,i know I'm hoping for a lot, but. if we  don't have hope then we are all  doomed.lolol.

I have to admit that I enjoyed the episodes with the cabal. because it had a purpose, it was good and when cap finally took over as leader things started to make sense. so maybe season 2 will surprise us with quality and substance, then we will finally have another show to watch because right now there is NOTHING.

@pascus @jharden4 @Mimas2 Your right, and I share your concerns also. I can say this, it looks like the animation has improved slightly, however that does not change my opinion of the show. I read months back that Marvel animation was going to do a season 2 of Hulk's ASM and I also said that giving the way Loeb and the gang have been operating that this was going to happen. It seems he (Loeb) want's everything to coincide with that Ultimate Spider-man garbage, which is sad for the true fans of Marvel comics.
