Significant Issues
Almost destroyed by his arch-rivals but thwarted their plans only to be defeated by Nova (Nova #8-9, 2008)

Sealed in a coffin-like prison, Abyss was taken to the edge of the universe to a place called Knowhere in an attempt to end his reign of terror once and for all. Those responsible for this were his arch-foes, the Luminals, but Abyss would not go quietly. When his prison began to malfunction – by unknown means – Abyss began his escape attempt. He started to manipulate the citizens of Knowhere, turning them into zombies, and fought back against his captors. The first of his enemies to fall was Suspensor, followed soon after by the rest of the Luminals, but a stranger to Knowhere in the form of Nova would be a new threat to contend with. Abyss struggled hard against the last of the Nova Centurions and his ally, Cosmo, Chief of Security on Knowhere, but in the end, Nova sealed Abyss back in his prison and returned peace to Knowhere. Abyss remains in captivity, but if history is any sign of what’s to come…Abyss will return someday to plague the universe once more.
