Sam Buchanan was an agent of Interpol assigned to protect the lovely Dr. Victoria Montesi, who was a descendant of a long line of Priest that were bestowed the task of safeguarding the pages of the Darkhold. Buchanan found Victoria very attractive, although never appeared to be interested in him. It might have been his attraction to Victoria that persuaded him to join the Darkhold Redeemers, since he was not a true advocate of chasing ghost and things that haunt the shadows.
