Ray Connor had an accident that left him blind and locked in the psych ward. No one knew what was wrong with him, but Ray's four remaining senses had gone haywire. One day he got a visit from a man called Stick. This mystery man said he knew not only how to help, but he could teach Ray how to control his new gifts.

Just like with Daredevil, Stick trained Ray with the necessary skills to fight against the things that go bump in the night. It wasn't long before Ray donned a costume of his own and the newspapers were calling him the new Daredevil. Inexperience would prove to be his undoing while out on patrol one evening. Ray was looking for Stick, but what he found was more than he bargained for. A clone of the Hulk had attacked Ray's mentor just before a small army of vampires overwhelmed him.

Sometime later, Nick Fury and his Ultimates, along with Captain America, went searching for the A.W.O.L. clone. Daredevil lured Captain America close enough to bite him on the neck and made him a vampire too. Daredevil stayed close to Stick’s side up to and including the massive attack on the Triskelion, and he also died at his mentor’s side when the vampire army was teleported into the desert to burn in the sunlight.
