The gorgon Delphyne is descended from the bloodline that was defeated by and assimilated into the Amazonian nation. When
Artume attempted to reshape reality with the
Atlantean Omphaios, Delphyne turned on her and helped restore the timeline.
Delphyne Gorgon, is a high-ranking
Amazon warrior lacking petrification abilities, fought alongside Artume when Japanese god of evil
Amatsu-Mikaboshi attacked Olympus as well as when Artume slew mother and queen of the Amazons,
Hippolyta. Delphyne, however, fell in love with Artume's prisoner, "hypermind" genius
Amadeus Cho, and attempted to save him from Artume, but she was seemingly killed when Artume stabbed her in the chest, unaware Gorgons could relocate their hearts. Delphyne decapitated Artume, reverting her to her original form and became queen of the Amazons. Unable to be with Cho because of her status, Delphyne allied with the goddess
Hera during her restructuring of Olympus, and with the Olympian god
Hephaestus to awaken her stone-gaze power and kill
Athena during Hera's battle with
Hercules' allies. Turning Athena to stone, Delphyne granted all Gorgons human-like beauty; she hoped Cho would lover her despite her actions, but when Athena claimed
Zeus' lightning bolt, she reactivated the curse, stripped Delphyne of her Amazon title and sentenced her to
New Tartarus, under the Olympus Group Building.
