When Ricky Calusky discovered that his father was the Wrecking Crew member known as Piledriver he decided to join the group, Piledriver agreed with the idea under the motive of training a recruit to take over upon his own retirement.


Excavator's criminal life went downhill as soon as his first bankheist, while attempting to rob from a bank the group was attacked and defeated by the Runaways. Excavator attempted to use his shovel on Molly Hayes which smashed to pieces on impact, following quickly by Excavator's defeat.
