When Fever Pitch's mutation first manifested, his flesh and skin immediately began to be consumed by the intense heat he generated, leaving him an entity of organic flame held together by his skeleton. Fever Pitch was first sighted attacking a group of young mutants in Boston as a member of the mutant terrorist group Gene Nation. Following Gene Nation's defeat, Fever Pitch briefly worked as a mercenary, which resulted in a destructive confrontation with Abyss in Paris. Both combatants were captured by the X-Corps, a self-styled, paramilitary mutant police led by Banshee. Fever Pitch joined the X-Corps, but proceeded to go on a rampage in Paris with his teammates. The incident, apparently the result of mind-control, led to the X-Corps' disbandment. Following the M-Day, Fever Pitch joined the 198, but recently he was captured by the Purifiers and infected with the Legacy Virus, dying later, incinerated by his own power.
