Significant Issues
Trying to avenge the death of his Caretaker, Yoshio was unsuccessful in defeating Daniel Ketch, losing his Ghost Rider powers in the process but escaping with his life (Ghost Rider #30, 2008) ; Yoshio’s Spirit of Vengeance helped to liberate Heaven (Ghost Riders: Heaven's On Fire #6, 2010)

In Tokyo, Japan, Yoshio Kannabe sensed his master was in distress and rushed to his aid. Upon his arrival, Yoshio found his Caretaker dead and Daniel Ketch standing over him. Daniel explained how Yoshio's teacher took his own life rather than tell Yoshio the truth about where his powers come from, but Yoshio would hear none of it. Knocking Ketch through a wall, Yoshio began his startling transformation into the Ghost Rider and vowed to send Ketch to Hell. Armed with astonishing powers too, Ketch underwent a change of his own, and both Ghost Riders clashed with one clear winner of the battle. Feeling he was doing Yoshio a service by ridding him of his curse, Daniel forcibly took back the powers belonging to Heaven – much to the delight of his evil master, Zadkiel. Yoshio survived the battle, unlike Daniel's last victim, but he would be no help to the remaining Spirits of Vengeance – at least not on Earth. Once Ketch and his brother, Johnny Blaze, reached Heaven, Yoshio's Spirit of Vengeance would rise again to oppose Zadkiel and the forces of the Antichrist.
