The details of how this mysterious Spirit of Vengeance came to be are known only inside the mind of Caretaker. However, this particular Ghost Rider didn't work alone. He had a partner known as the Undead G-Man, and together, they took out the Skin and Bones Club – at least on one occasion – before they could murder an innocent man. Knuckles scrappy nature was essential during the war to liberate Heaven. First Zadkiel, a rogue angel who wanted to control Heaven, needed to be defeated then Kid Blackheart, who wanted to destroy it. Knuckles' enthusiasm gave way to a one-on-one confrontation with the Antichrist, but Kid Blackheart got away – although he won't soon forget his encounter with Knuckles O'Shaugnessy.
