Marinette Bwa Chech said very little in the brief time she was in the presence of the other Spirits of Vengeance, but her rage was unleashed when her lover, Baron Skullfire, was slain at the hands of one of the Black Host. Still, her fury coupled with the fighting prowess of Bai Gu Jing, the skilled swordplay of Molek, and the legendary reputation of Johnny Blaze would not be enough to prevent a corrupt Daniel Ketch from stealing her powers for his master, Zadkiel. Regrettably, she did not survive the process, but she was able to exact some measure of revenge in Heaven. Marinette was reunited with her love, and together, they put down Zadkiel and his Black Host along with several other Spirits of Vengeance. Marinette's battle didn't end there as she was needed to help fight the forces of Satan, led by his son, Kid Blackheart.
