Next to nothing is known of the Raptor called Gyre. He was only called forth to protect a younger version of the Sphinx from his older self as they did battle within the Fault. However, it appeared salvation for the older Sphinx came in the form of Darkhawk – an anomaly which Sphinx wasn't aware of until the precise moment he was needed. Darkhawk opposed Gyre, and using a trick Talon used on him, Darkhawk drove Gyre out of his armor, saving the host inside. Before Gyre was defeated, he told Darkhawk his previous attempt to rid the universe of Talon failed.
