Traveling far from his home in the east, Kwai Jun-Fan found himself in a west Texas town which he despised for their potential willingness to exploit his people. However, he was tired and in desperate need to refuel his body with food and water, so he had no choice but to stop – a decision he would soon regret. All he wanted was a glass of water from the bartender, but the townsfolk would not let him drink in peace. Even stranger was the fact they knew him by name. It would not be long before Jun-Fan discovered that the
Servant of the Ch'i-Lin – the one who kills the Iron Fist – had come to claim his life. Kwai Jun-Fan fought hard against the demon and the townsfolk, and maybe it was because of his weakened condition or it was fate that dictated this moment, but Kwai Jun-Fan met his demise when the beast ripped Jun-Fan's heart from his chest. Kwai's body appeared outside the cave of
Shou-Lao, and the demon known as the
Ch'i-Lin emerged from the gaping hole in his chest. The Ch'i-Lin wished to devour the dragon's egg, but it was stopped by
Lei Kung and one hundred other brave warriors. Kwai Jun-Fan may have died at the young age of 33, along with all who bore the mantle of
Iron Fist before him, but he died standing with honor.
