Sergeant Julius Rassitano formerly worked for the Narcotics Division of the New York Police Department until a botched drug bust caused his partner to be killed in the line of duty. There was an investigation done by the Internal Affairs unit, in search of a dirty cop, but Officer Rassitano was cleared of any wrongdoing. Eventually volunteering for assignment with Code: Blue, Rassitano used his sharp shooting skills to benefit those around him especially when it came to handling super powered criminals like the Wrecking Crew and Titania and the Absorbing Man. However, the super villain, Pandara, took the life of one of his teammates, Andrew “Jock” Jackson, and the loss hit Rassitano the hardest out of everyone in the group possibly because of the failure with his first partner. Eventually, Mad Dog crossed paths with his old partner’s brother, Thomas Rizzo, when Code: Blue was called upon to observe his creation and the latest weapon against crime, Officer Z.E.R.O. The reunion seemed to be an amicable one, but once the robot police officer went dangerously out of control it was discovered that Rizzo still harbored some resentment for the loss of his brother, Daniel. Officer Z.E.R.O. was eventually stopped, when the life of its designer came to an end, and Officer Rassitano requested permission to break the news to Rizzo’s parents. After that, it was business as usual for Mad Dog and Code: Blue as they dealt with such menaces as Mongoose, Quicksand and Bloodaxe, and he was even at the scene when the Thunderbolts prevented the fall of the United Nation building. Mad Dog remains with Code: Blue and is as stalwart as ever when it comes to protecting the streets of New York.
