Mulholland's mutant powers enable her to share a psychokinetic link with historical events. She is able to tao into the latent psychic energy of the immediate area and convert it into into psychokinetic fuel for a variety of effects. Although she lost these powers during "M-Day," they were duplicated via technology.

The daughter of drug addicted grunge musicians, Black became a ward of the state after her parents lethal overdose. Her mutant abilities first manifested while in a juvenile ward, and she became a runaway on the streets of Los Angeles, before long she joined the Black Dahlias vigilante girl gang. After being kicked out of the Black Dahlias for her amorous activities, Black was recruited for the Order.
