Born and raised in Texas, Inez Temple was forced to defend herself from a young age when other children teased her for being a mutant. Temple idolized her ancestor, the Outlaw Kid, who inspired her to train in the use of firearms. She became a western-themed mercenary and joined the Merc Works gym where she first met fellow mercenary Deadpool, who had become famous for assassinating the heads of the Four Winds crime family. Following Deadpool's apparent death and the subsequent appearance of Agent X, who was suspected of being Deadpool, Outlaw was hired by Taskmaster to train him in the use of firearms, after which she noted Hayden couldn't be Deadpool as Hayden was more skilled. Outlaw romanced Hayden for a time and joined his Agency X mercenary group after helping them defeat the Black Swan. Outlaw has recently appeared seeking refuge at the Xavier Institute after the events of "M Day".
