Patch acquired the church that once housed Sister Margaret's School for Wayward Children. He converted the church into a clearing house for mercenary assignments, whether legal or illegal, earning his a percentage off of every job successfully completed. His establishment became known as the "Hellhouse," and it provided the mercenary community with a place to socialize as well as find work. Many of the patrons of the Hellhouse were superhuman or having exceptional abilities and attributes. Patch entrusted a few of the mercenaries with pagers, making them easily accessible, if the need arose. Some of the regulars to frequent the Hellhouse were the malleable C.F. (Steele Fitzpatrick), baseball-obsessed Fenway (Homer Un), the fast healing Deadpool and the former Six Pack member Domino (Neena Thurman), although her patronage decreased over the years. Patch had rules against violence that were often ignored, especially if Deadpool and mercenary sorcerer T-Ray (presumed Wade Wilson), were in the building at the same time. Both men had a long standing grudge with the other for killing his wife Mercedes Wilson.

Patch brokered out all kind of unsavory jobs, there was one to takeout several children, which was accepted by the unscrupulous T-Ray. Patch also threatened to place Deadpool on probation after he went missing in action for awhile, although, Patch was dissuaded by a gift of obscene chocolates form the motor mouth mercenary. Deadpool and his partner Weasel accepted twin assignments to abduct and kill a mental patient, but both target and client alike turned out to be Typhoid Mary, who could not pay for either assignment. Deadpool brought Typhoid to the Hellhouse, hoping that she could work off her dept in the employ of Patch, although his effort were squashed when T-Ray appeared and set his mask on fire, exposing his cancer ridden face, causing Deadpool to flee the premises. Patch placed T-Ray on a months suspension, but he challenged Patch's authority, and the other patrons were to frightened to even take Patch's offer of $10.000 dollars to evict him.
