Rancor is a resident of the alternate future known as the 31st Century, or Earth-691, and an inhabitant of the planet of Haven; a world ran by Nine mutants. She proclaimed to be the distant relative of the long-lived mutant Wolverine and led the Nine. The eight other members were Bat-wing, Bear, Blaster, Blockade, Mindscan, Rhodney, Shaddo, and Side-step. Together this group of powerful mutants became a consistent thorn in the side of the future heroes known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. During a search to regain the claw of Wolverine, Rancor fell into conflict with Doctor Doom.
