Rhodney was a resident of the alternate future known as the 31st Century, or Earth-691, and an inhabitant of the planet of Haven; a world controlled by mutants. He was member of a group of renegade mutants known as the Nine. The eight other members were Bat-wing, Bear, Blaster, Blockade, Mindscan, Rancor (leader of the group), Side-step, and Shaddo. While on the planet of Haven, Rhodney and his comrades were part of a constant civil war with the "Human Resistance."
