Situated in the East River between Queens and New York, Ryker's Island is New York State's largest penitentiary. It is home to approximately 15,000 inmates, and 20,000 staff. Within the prison there are ten other jails, holding criminals awaiting trial as well as those incarcerated and serving sentences. In addition to holding non super human prisoners Ryker's Island also serves as a prison for super human criminals. Such criminals as Bullseye, Sandman, Jigsaw, Carnage, Bloody Mary, Sauron and Kingpin; as well as holding framed heroes, The Punisher aka Frank Castle and Daredevil, Matt Murdock.
