Val was a veteran of the Galadorian,Spaceknight program, and he was the first of Galador's winged Angel Elite to wear the Spaceknight armor. He was known as Sentry, armed with flaming sword and arrows, and he was selected as Royal Guard to the First Family. During a mission that sent Val and the Prime Director to the planet of Trion, to stop a gruesome Ethnic cleansing campaign by the evil forces of Nazgoth and Wraithknights, the Prime Director was slain, and Val was thought to be the only survivor of this brutal massacre.
