Landra was an inhabitant of the planet Galador. She was one of many Galadorian citizens that volunteered to be part of Spaceknight program; this was a process that would change them into cyborg weapons for the defense of their planet. The need of such a program became apparent after the savage Dire Wraiths attacked the "Golden Galaxy." Landra was given the Starshine armor, which enabled her to survive within the cold vacuum of space, project bright laser eye beams and teleport her and at least one other person across interstellar distances. As Starshine she battled alongside Galador's greatest warrior Rom against the Wraiths. Landra eventually lost her life while battling the Wraiths and Doctor Dredd merged her armor with a female from Earth by the name of Brandy Clark.
