Syphonn is a being with the power to animate the tissue of dead beings, and he has shown that he can control living beings that were once dead. He can absorb energy to empower himself. He can also generate deadly, life-draining energy spikes from his hands.

Abilities
He has the ability to absorb energy through power portals that he has established in the positive universe, and he can change the ends of his tentacles into sharp weapons.

Weapons
The Conqueror Wheel was a device used to access into the positive universe by opening a portal. Syphonn used the Nega-Bands to power the Conqueror Wheel, which was later destroyed by Drax the Destroyer.

Paraphernalia
The Soul Gem is one of six Infinity Gems. They were once one gem stone. It is a sentient life form and has a hunger for souls. The Soul Gem can take over the body and mind of its host user. It allows the user to steal, manipulate and alter souls, living or dead. Adam Warlock has been the sole custodian of this gem for many years. The gem is a passageway into a pocket dimension known as Soulworld, where the souls are kept alive. The soul gem turned on Syphonn causing him to flee back into the Negative Zone.

Significant Issues
The story of Syphonn takes place in (Warlock #1-4, 1998-1999)

Syphonn was a warlord from the Negative Zone. He launched an attack on the positive universe, by using a weapon of his own creation. This weapon was known as the Conqueror Wheel. This device created a portal allowing him passage into the positive universe. Syphonn is basically an energy parasite with the added ability to animate the dead. He had the ability to telepathically controll them into carrying out his wishes. He has used this ability on living beings, as well as those that were once dead but had somehow been returned to life. One such being was Drax the Destroyer, which was his first known living victim. Drax was manipulated into stealing the corpse of the Kree Warrior Captain Marvel. Syphonn managed to use his abilities to persuade his fellow Negative Zone warlords, Annihilus and Blastaar to join his cause. Together they stole the Soul Gem from the forehead of Warlock. They were all eventually defeated by Genis-Vell the son of Captain Mar-Vell and the golden cosmic warrior Adam Warlock. They were assisted by the former members of the Infinity Watch.
