In case you're wondering...Spidey's weight here is listed as 167 lbs. He used to be 165. After the transformation by the Queen, he emerged feeling heavier as he gained muscle mass - 170 lbs (as per the OHOTMU - Spider-Man 2005). Now, post death and re-emergence, he's 167 lbs (as revealed in the solicits for Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #7). Future Handbooks will formalize this weight.--MikeFichera 12:53, 18 April 2006 (EDT)
I'm assuming that since he's "started over" with his life after the "Other", he went back to 165, and (this is my theory) gained some muscle or something? sononsj 17:18, 18 April 2006 (EDT)
Yep, something = 2 wrist stingers!--MikeFichera 17:18, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
Before he was 167, he was 160 (in the comics published in the 70's). sononsj 22:44, 9 May 2006 (EDT)
Spidey previous strength is suppose to be 10 tons not 15 tons. Actually I have a way to determine Spidey's strength based off of his weight, previously Spidey could lift almost 10 tons as stated in every hand book since the beginning of time, he weighted 165 pounds as stated above this meant he could lift 120 bringing him to 9.9 tons. 120 x 167 would mean he can now lift 10.02 tons a difference of about 240 pounds.
Spidey's strength is not proportional to his body weight, sorry.--MikeFichera 17:32, 27 July 2006 (EDT)
Does any one mind if I put a pic of spiderman's new costume in the bio? --Liqiudviper 18:29, 9 March 2006 (EST)
Sounds good - I'd keep the size relatively similar to the other inline pics in the Spidey bio. You want to write a bit about the suit too? I'd still end the bio with "No matter his change in powers or group membership, Spider-Man is always one of the world's greatest heroes. " --MikeFichera 23:47, 9 March 2006 (EST)
this page really exposes a lot of spideys history that most fans wouldn't know about after only learnin from the movies (can't wait for the third one!!) i think it s a great idea keep up the good work.--david andrews 18:06, 14 March 2006 (EST)
Does anybody really think the new suit will survive the civil war
I highly doubt it will survive. there's too much tied to the suit.--thewatcheromega ?, 17 March 2006
I don't like the new costume, I think that it is far from aesthetic and the new features are just unimportant for spidey. I also belive that individuality was clarifying spidey, and he is better in solving the problems by its own.--fatzan 09:50, 1 April 2006 (EST)
Like I said down at the bottom, with the suits ability to change the appearance back to the normal costume it may have some lasting power after all. Oh yeah and those leg things that come out of his back are pretty lame. -marvels
I really like the new Iron costume. I think it's like a new jacket, you really like it and wear it all the time but eventually you miss the old one because of its comfort and for some bit of nostalgia. I would like if spidey changed his costumes more ofter. I would love to see him occassionally switch from the original to the black to the iron and even to the scarlet. I've got my favorite shirts and jackets that I looove to wear all the time. But man, after a while, those things need to be washed (I guess) and it's time to switch up, grab a different jacket for a while.
At first I thought that he was going to change back after the civil war, but in the second version of the new costume he can change the suit's appearance back to the original style(and black costume and naked). So, I think that it does have so lasting value now. -marvels
How did the red and gold spiderman come to be?
It's the same person under the costume. Tony Stark (Iron Man) gave Peter Parker the costume, almost as a bribe so that Spidey would be on his side during the Civil War. sononsj 20:51, 20 May 2006 (EDT)
I wouldn't say it was a bribe - he gave Peter the new costume before the Stamford incident igniting the Civil War. Tony has taken Peter under his wing, and has grown closer to him as an Avenger and a friend. He looks at Peter as a protégé, and gave him the costume as a gift. He believes Peter and he are like-minded, though he is aware of Peter's naiveté when it comes to politics and the law.--MikeFichera 00:14, 21 May 2006 (EDT), moderator
I don't think it was that simple. Tony is a futurist; he knows what will happen. And by that, I don't mean he predicted the Stamford Disaster, or any disaster at all, but he knew Registration was coming. If you read the latest issue of Amazing, you saw that he backstabbed and lied to try and get what he thought was best. I think he was bribing Pete--Spidey:Weapon X 18:33, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
I know; he "backstabbed and lied" to Peter, then he "backstabbed and lied" to the Titanium Man. sononsj 18:48, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
look at what spain(or portugal)got for their evolve or die covers. theres are way better than what we got theirs rock. the have the black costume for godsake!=]"www.universomarvel.com/ news/2005/12/el-capitn..." ps. can someone teachme how to mke a link? --thewatcheromega
If you mean external link then just write the url between these (like this [url]) whit http and all in it. --Wezqu 7:29, 13 June 2006 (GTM)
I'm confused. Spiderman got a ne costume, but in all the Civil War things I see he's in the original costume. What's up. Wouldn't he keep the new costume? CrowHawkins 11:53, 21 June 2006
The new costume was originally drawn when Peter unmasked, but then decided to redraw it because the classic costume is how New York (and fans) really know Spider-Man. It was something that slipped by Editorial until the very last minute. So the artist had to redraw all the pages that had Spider-Man on them and redo the costume to the classic costume. Plus the classic costume worked better with the story being told in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. So he will keep the new costume, but for public appearances, the classic costume was used. --DragynWulf 17:29, 21 June 2006 (EDT)
Spider-man's new costume in Civil war is better than his Original costume if he teamed up with Capt.America
Wait a mintune. I heard there was going to be a new Spiderman costume in the fourth moive. Which they said was possible, but I heard it was some balck suit with blue. It has heat seeking devices and all that cool stuff. Sicne he inherited the Oscorp, they made him a new suit. I just heard and I wanted to know. I just wanted to now if he gets that suit! If so, then I can't wait. --MarvelFan-Adam 3:25 May 16.
In the bio its says:Flash's girlfriend, Liz Allan, often complicated matters, harboring a crush on "Puny Parker", making Flash jealous. I thought it was Mary Jane who dated Flash in school and harbored the crush on parker. I could be wrong though but can some one please explain whitch is the right one?
There have been many versions of the Spider-Man story..but we're talking the main Spider-Man tale that has been running since the 60s here (also known as Earth 616). Back then, MJ's name was only mentioned by Aunt May's next door neighbor, Anna Watson, as someone who should meet Peter. MJ did not go to high school with Peter. Liz Allan, Flash Thompson, Tiny, Seymour, Sally, Jason - they were all in the popular crowd, with Flash as the alpha-dog leading the abuse against nerdy Peter. Liz, after awhile, softened to Pete and developed a crush on him (though she was dating Flash) while Peter was after Betty Brant at the Daily Bugle. After graduation, Pete said goodbye to Liz (though it wasn't the last he'd see of her) and went to ESU where he met Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn (ASM #31). It wasn't until ASM #42 in 1966 did Pete and MJ meet face to face.--MikeFichera 10:05, 30 March 2006 (EST)
hi i am a little confused withs side are spider-man on i rhe civil war
He has said he is on Iron Man's side (he swore a blood oath).
I like the new costume. Cool liquid nano tech stuff.
Yeah, but Marvel is presenting him as 'undecided' so we can't really be sure at this point--Spidey:Weapon X 18:23, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
I can think of 4 off the top of my head. Crucified and slain by Kulan Gath (Uncanny X-Men #191), Spider-Man #17 (1991) w/Thanos, Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #71 (he's declared dead...but then pulls out of flatlining in Spectacular Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #237), and now in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3. There's lots of alternate universe stuff you can probably add into the mix too.--MikeFichera 22:12, 30 March 2006 (EST)
He was also buried alive by Kraven, but he wasn't technically dead. User:sononsj 13 April 2006
How did he come back in UXM 151/SM 17? user:sononsj
He also died in secret wars together withs the other heroes
And in the Thanos thing when Thanos ended the universe or something. --sononsj
No, I think he's tlaking about the one where he tries to save a girl but they both die, and then Death brings him back to life. I have that issue, it's pretty good :)
Yes, I was talking about that issue.--MikeFichera 20:17, 17 April 2007 (CDT)
I can't really think of many, but I can tell you he has died more then once! --Adam
sononsj added Spidey's first app as "possibly Amazing Adult Fantasy #14" - Yes, it's a pretty neat coincidence - the character in that issue does appear to look like Pete, but there is no reason to believe it is him. There is nothing in the story that connects the two, and Peter Parker was not a child with mutant abilities. SeeSamRuby's site for the details. This site is about the facts as objectively as possible, and officially, it is Amazing Fantasy #15.--MikeFichera 22:02, 13 April 2006 (EDT)
I agree, but I also wrote about Aunt May and Uncle Ben. There's an uncanny resemblance of them in Strange Tales #97. They were even called Ben and May in the story.( I think I heard somewhere that Strange Tales #97 is thefirst appearance" of Liz Allen, but I'm not sure). User:sononsj 13 April 2006
I saw it - and I'm just about to post about that too over at the Aunt May Discussion Board. I think it's cool trivia, but it's not their official first app. I'd like it to be in the Discussion page for folks to read, and I'll add Eric Gillette's webpage link - but officially it's not their first appearance any more than the May, Ben, Richard and Mary from Trouble are part of continuity.--MikeFichera 07:20, 14 April 2006 (EDT)
Please, there were only so many ways to draw a nerdy kid and an old couple back then, it stands to reason that they would look the same. marvels 15:58, 14 April 2006 (EDT)
Aww, c´mon... then why was the couple named Ben and May? Don´t tell me there were only so many ways to Italic name an old couple back then. (Just, sayin´, although I´ve already given up the the theory of that being their first appearance). user:sononsj
whatever happened to spidey's "sister" from the sinister 6 novels. did she ever appear anywhere else after scooby and the gang picked her up?--thewatcheromega
As far as I know, the Sinister Six novels are not part of the approved continuity. You'd have to ask someone else, but that'd be my guess. Though I read the first and it was pretty good! I have the second, but just haven't gotten around to reading it... PseudoSherlock 16:26, 22 May 2006 (EDT)
I read those novels a few years back, and they were really good. I thought it was cool how they brought in Spiderman's sister (I think her name was Pity, and she had the powers of darkness or something like that), if she was actually Spiderman's sister. I think that they should bring her back into a future issue. 1gunsnroses1
There needs to be a series which spidey finds his sister (if she is his sister) and run with it Also in the Novel her name is pity and i think shocker has a crush on her and dislikes the way Gentleman treated her which shows a sign of good in him????
When is spider-mans aniversay(i'm not talkinig about the peter/mj aniversary)?
Spider-Man made his first appearance august 15th 1962 in Amazing Fantasy # 15 (it also cost just 12 cent.....at the time of course) david andrews 17:43, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
his 44th aniversay was the past august on the 15th
how many times has spidey turned into man-spider?--thewatcheromega
I think twice: Once, when he originally became the Man Spider, and once because of Queen?--Spidey:Weapon X 17:54, 3 June 2006 (EDT)
Actually 3 times. Marvel Fanfare #1 (1982 - w/Angel and Ka-Zar in the Savage Land), Amazing Spider-Man #437 (w/Synch vs. Plantman), and because of the Queen (Spectacular Spider-Man, 2003, #17-#20) --MikeFichera 21:24, 3 June 2006 (EDT
thanks. man spider is one of my favorite characters.--thewatcheromega
I was just wondering should there be a mention about the sonic gun that Spider-Man used several times against Venom? Its not a big deal, but that just come to my mind and wanted to know if it would be revelant to be added to the weapon section? Wezqu
Thanks for asking - no, please don't include the sonic gun. It is not part of his character typically. You don't see Spidey walking down the street with a gun at his side. He only borrowed it.--MikeFichera 00:21, 7 June 2006 (EDT)
Does Spidey have some spider seekers or somthing
He did have them. Havent seen him use them since the "reborn". --Wezqu 05:12, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
Ive been out of the comic book business for a while due to my wanting to get more involved in manga/anime . whats been happining to spidey and other marvel hereos ?
You've come to the right place. Read Spidey's bio - It'll get you pretty well caught up with what's been going on.There's a superhero Civil War going on, and Spidey's caught in the middle with some tough decisions to make - should he comply with the upcoming new law and unmask, or go underground with Captain America? --MikeFichera 11:24, 8 June 2006 (EDT)
A lots changed with Spidey over the last... holy cow, its only been a year, hasn't it? Wow... Joining the Avengers, House of M, the Other, Civil War... talk about fast paced.--Spidey:Weapon X 11:26, 8 June 2006 (EDT)
at this rate spideys' gonna become the next herald of galactus:). what does eveyone think about the last issue of AMZ spider-man? do you think he is going to go through with it or is he gonna try and pull a fast one on us. PS. if you are going to post on this matter try to be dicreit.( dont do anythin to give the plot away).--thewatcheromega 8:22pm,8 June 2006
I don't know it really seems like he'll go through with it , I mean he talked it over with M.J and May and there all for it so why not ? Then again who's to say he won't just leap off the podiam and run for it ? I mean if ever there was some one going to pull a no show at the White house of all places it has to be spidey right ? I can't wait to see what happens. If he does it I can't wait to see Joanah say he "knew all along" or something like that. david andrews 20:58, 8 June 2006 (EDT)
I'm gona say he runs or something really unexpected will happen and prevent him from taking it off. One such a act might be Kaine who really doesnt want the whole world to know who Spider-Man is, but that would be really just wishfull thinking. There is several things that might happen, but I still hope that he just doesnt take it off, because it would just kill something off the character. Spider-Man has never followed rules that are given to him. If he doesnt believe that those rules are right and he doesnt think this law is. I really hope he doesnt go trough whit it... Wezqu 07:20, 9 June 2006 (GTM)
I'm with you guys. then again when you look at the comic covers in the catalog you always see him fighting alongside iron-man, but if you look far enough in the catalog you see him fightin iron-man. i geuss we'll have to wait till next week t o find out. thogh nothin you ever see in the marvel universe is ever 100% solid.--thewatcheromega
please!!!! i need someone to tell me what happens after the chapter of marvel knights spider-man " down among dead men". i just read the last of that chapter and it's cliff hanger if i ever did see one. some one please help me!--thewatcheromega
please! surely one of you follows up on everything spider-man. i got to know before i get the civil war 2.--thewatcheromega
Okay, so Peter gets the crap beaten out of him by Electro and Vulture who, apparently, didn't kidnap Aunt May. A picture of his bruised and beaten face is taken and given to the Bugle. The Bugle offers tons of money for the identification of Spider-Man, so Spidey winds up fighting lots of villains who want the money. Meanwhile, Eddie Brock shows up, dying of cancer. He saw a Mel Brooks movie, and wants to die clean now, so he auctions off the Venom symbiote to Angelo Fortunato, who tries to kill Spider-Man. The mastermind who has kidnaped May and done everything the Green Goblin wanted is: Mac Gargan, the Scorpion! The Scorpion explains how the companies that were doing shady, under the table business hired super villains to keep the super heroes busy and never investigate their companies. Bush stopped this, but Osborn was part of the business, so they are going to kill him. Scorpion says that Spidey has to save Osborn from jail or he kills May. Peter does, but there's a double cross, and he and the Black Cat wind up fighting the sinister twelve... along with Scorpion, who is the new Venom! With help from the Avengers, Peter finds that the Goblin has kidnapped MJ as well. He chases him to a bridge where there is a big dramatic showdown. Peter defeats Osborn, saves MJ, and realises where Aunt May is. She was being held in Uncle Ben's new grave, and thats why the X-Men psychics thought she was dead. Thats the rest of the story, basically.--Spidey:Weapon X 11:40, 14 June 2006 (EDT)
uh...Mel Brooks? Don't you mean Gibson? Anyway, nice 30 second rundown, S:WX. You also can read all sorts of plot summaries on websites like Spiderfan.org, for example - or better yet, pick up the Trade Paperbacks! --MikeFichera 14:17, 14 June 2006 (EDT)
now there was no reason to delete my last post. i said nothing out of line worst thing i said was "the stupid library only had volumes 1,3,and4, whats with that." if i can't say stupid then plese tell me.(i'm not being rude)oh and thanks mike and sp:wx--thewatcheromega
I don't see any record of anything deleted, watcher...perhaps you posted at the same time as me, and my post accidentally overwrote yours? S:WX, you were right. I corrected myself above - Millar did name "Bush and Clinton found out about this and closed down any super-villain programs they heard about..."--MikeFichera 21:31, 14 June 2006 (EDT)
weird.what are the chances? anyone have civil war 2 yet ?--thewatcheromega
I did. The ending will blow you away. It did to me, and I saw it coming.--Spidey:Weapon X 11:15, 15 June 2006 (EDT)
The exact same thing happened to me on the main page, watcher. My post just completely disappeared, twice. I thought someone was deleting it because they didn't like what I said. But it turned out it just went away... PseudoSherlock 16:05, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
Marvel requested the Spider-Man profile be updated today, with Spoiler warnings, in conjunction with the announcements made on the Marvel.com homepage.--MikeFichera 13:38, 15 June 2006 (EDT)
I am so happy. I read it yesterday and I have been waiting all day for someone else to even acknowledge that Civil War #2 came out, let alone what happened at the end.--Spidey:Weapon X 21:59, 15 June 2006 (EDT)
I honestly can't believe that he did that! It is seriously going to cause a lot of problems! In The Amazing Spider-Man #533, it shows just a few of the problems that are beginning to happen to Spidey. --chizzaz 22:31, 10 July 2006 (EDT)
can someone help me with a list tha tells me me what graphic novels of spider- man to read in conjunction with each other? i have acces to all the comic starting at amz spider-man 30 vol.2. i'd like to know when to read all of them so they make sense if anbody can help me with this particular dillemma please do . p.s- i'll be gone for a couple days so don expect areply to anything you post for a little while.--thewatcheromega
Order of Graphic Novels: Since the reboot after the gathering of five(the biginning of the Strat. error) here are the grahic novels in order- -Coming Home- Peter fights Morlun for the first time Revelations - Peter deals with 9/11 and Aunt May discovers he is Spider-Man -Until The Stars Turn Cold- Peter fights to get Mary Jane back while dealing with difficulties life as Spider-Man -The Life and Death of Spiders- -Unintended Consequenses- -Happy Birthday- Great series !!! Peter is sent through time to save all of marvels prominent heroes due to an attack by Dormamu. He accidentally travels too far in time and watches his older self ... i wont ruin it for you... - The Book of Eziekal- Eziekal returns to warn Peter that the totemistic side of his powers are about to bring him major trouble- a very good series too!!! a bunch of twists!!! - Sins Past- My personal favorite becuase Peter discovers an unbelievale truth. Norman Osborn slept with Gwen and had children!!! The kids believe that Peter is their father and also believe that Peter is responsible for Gwens death!!! Unbelievble!!!\ - Sins Past- A very well written series that dive into Peters past and a very complex and ruthless enemy that Peter HAS to defeat! -The New Avengers- In the aftermath of Sins Past, Peter moves into Avengers Mansion after Iron-Man takes him in. This series is important to civil war because the bond that Iron-Man and Spider-Man have in Civil War begins here. This is also a very well written series of comics that Pitt Spider-Man and the new avengers against Hydra! -The Other- Im not sure if this out yet but if you haven't read The Other then your totally out of the loop. It is so great i dont even want to dive into it- To end i'd like to say i loved and still love Spider-Man for as long as i could remember and i think that his unmasking is just terrrible. Peter was one of the last (if not the last) hero to actually have a secret idenity. To strip this major piece of the character is terrible and i hope Marvel fixes the problem!!! RyanParker87
How do you fix something like that? It happened. The whole world saw it, and its done. :) Better get used to it.--Spidey:Weapon X 16:45, 17 June 2006 (EDT)
Well Spidey:WeaponX, These are comics and this is the Marvel Universe-- nothing is ever set in stone. From what we can all see from the upcoming comic covers is that Peter will switch sides. Peter has done a great favor to Tony for coming out in the open and well, Tony Stark hasn't been all that open with Peter. One possible yet very dry outcome is that Peter comes out(after he switches sides) and states that he was put up by Stark(for a number of differnet and very reasonable situations) to pretend that he was Spider-Man to help nurture the realization that the Registration Act is real and should be taken seriously. The Marvel public could and would take this seriously since all Peter is, is a science teacher-nobody from Queens. With Strat. at the helm a much better way to fix this situation could easily be devised. To write it off as something that just happened and something that I should just get use to is stupid! Spider-Man works close to the street. The consequences of him coming out are numerous. Not only could B-List villians like Rhino and Electro strike at May or M. J. but think of the lowly street thug that Peter webs up as he muggs an old lady. He is most dangerous becuase he is a nobody and doesn't recieve any attention. HE KNOWS WHO SPIDER-MAN IS! He could easily wait a couple of months and do somthing terrible to M.J. as she goes to get the groceries! This move doesn't make any sense to me and really doesn't make any sense to the most responsible hero of all time!!!
I've been reading Spider-Man for Ten years but I've really read 30 years worth of Spidey tales--c'mon man, you are a fan-- this isn't right. This isn't Spider-Man. Part of the reason I love Spider-Man is due to his secret identity. Not only is Spider-Man a hero, but Peter is also a responsible hero. In - Revelations- Peter tries to help a poor and homeless girl. She doesn't know he is Spider-Man. If she did, she would be expecting his altruism. She just recognizes Peter as her teacher and as a great man. When you read Spider-Man, you read about Spider-Man and you read about Peter Parker. They are the same person but two different characters. Civil War has just integrated the two characters--- now the dynamic is over and you have a totally different character. I'm going to keep reading... even if this change is permanent. I just hope it all works out. RyanParker87
I agree its a risky change, but there's no way the world would believe another 'I'm not going to be Iron Man anymore'. Besides, he swung in on a web to the conference, and he's seen in the preview cover of Civil War 5 fighting villains in costume with his mask torn off. There is no going back. Also, I am of the personal belief he will not switch sides: He gave away his identity. What'll he fight for? He has nothing backing up a betrayal.--Spidey:Weapon X 13:48, 18 June 2006 (EDT)
If you are a fan of Spider-Man, then be a fan of Spider-Man. Him revealing his identity shouldn't change that. If you have been reading about the character for years then you'd know this isn't the first time his identity has gone public (same with Daredevil, Captain America, Iron Man or many other heroes). Writers find a way to bring back the idea of having a secret identity. Captain America used the Cosmic Cube once, Iron Man claimed that he used someone else in his costume, Daredevil used Spider-Man in a Daredevil costume and many other tactics to show that they were not really a super-hero. Once it has run its course in comics, then it can be undone. Just like Wolverine having bone claws. With him no longer having a secret identity it opens up new stories to tell. So enjoy the character for the stories being told. Not just because they no longer have a secret identity. --DragynWulf 16:58, 18 June 2006 (EDT)
The reason why he would change sides is that he doesnt see this thing same way as Iron Man does. First conflict against some of his old hero friends will show that its wrong to force them to remove their masks. Spider-Man isnt a guy who does things when someone tells him to do. Also why in the world you guys think he is for the law. Didnt the magazine end to the scene where he removed his maks and asked any questions. He didnt say hes for the law. He just decided that he doesnt want to hide anymore. He hasnt agreed to capture any of his old friends and I think he wont do it even if he would fight against one of them. Some asked what there is to fight for him anymore. Heres the answer freedom for his friends. Spider-Man doesnt fight for himself he fights for the people in need and people who are in need are the heroes who dont want to reveal themselfs. Also Iron Man is a guy who does anything if its helps him. Spider-Man isnt like that and when he does something that will not suite whit Peter the conflict is ready. Spider-Man doesnt see everything white and black like Iron Man does. He doesnt see someone bad just because someone else says that he is. He even saw good in Venom even if he was one of his badest villains. Spider-Man does what he thinks is right and he really doesnt believe that the law is right. --Wezqu 22:31, 18 June 2006 (GTM)
He doesn't see things the way Iron Man does? Then why the heck did he unmask himself? It was an act in support of Iron Man's cause. Meaning, he just unmasked himself, and is continuing to be a super hero after Registration became law: For some obscure reason, I think he currently supports it, cause otherwise he'd be rotting in jail :P lol, besides, fighting for Cap still means fighting his old friends. A side switch wouldn't change anything. Iron Man represents the law; sometimes, the law is black and white when it shouldn't be, but it is the law. And Spider-Man just came out in support of it... you know, really, I really just hope he doesn't switch sides, cause I'm with Iron Man, and that would seriously piss me off. Right now, though, I don't see reasons for a betrayal and, I think it would be cliché, leaving you no real choice to choose a side since Spidey thought Registration had no morals at all and dumped it. You think that might influence people's votes?--Spidey:Weapon X 22:05, 18 June 2006 (EDT)
There is a another reason why he unmasked himself. He was tired of hiding it and I think he knew that it would happen sooner or later so he did it himself before he was forced to take it off. Also when we talk about Spidey he isn't a guy whos intensions are always clear and he does change his opinion by the stuff he sees, but we have to see what happens. I'm whit Spider-Man and Captain America, but not whit Iron Man. It doesn't bother me that hes now whit Iron Man, but I have a feeling it will change. Of course I cant be sure, but I just feel like he will change sides. Next issue will tell us what happens or more like next two issues. --Wezqu 09:32, 19 June 2006 (GTM)
This is where I prove you wrong. In the issue of Amazing Spider-Man leading up to Civil War #2, it is Tony Stark who asks Spidey to unmask, not Spider-Man's own choice. In the same issue, Peter tells Tony that he's with him. Will he change sides? Its possible, even probable.--Spidey:Weapon X 13:28, 19 June 2006 (EDT)
He didnt do it, because Stark asked him. Look the last issue of Spider-Man and you see that he was ready to leave to canada and hide before Aunt May gave him the old costume. She said to him "Ben, and then you, always sayed "Whit great power comes great responsibilty." and she continued "and responsibility means you don't run away when someone asks, "who did that?"". He made a decision to not to run, because of what Aunt May sayed and took of his mask because of it. Not because Tony Stark asked him to do it. Read it and then come to say to me it wasnt his decision. Also I'm not a hostile even if I might sound like I am. --Wezqu 16:47, 19 June 2006 (EDT)
lol, all in good fun. What I meant was that he didn't think the idea up and decide he was going to do it because he was tired of hiding. It was proposed by Tony as something he needed to do if he registered. Aunt May supported the Registration, and with that came the need to unmask.--Spidey:Weapon X 17:24, 19 June 2006 (EDT)
Haha, i knew spideyweoponx was with Stark! I agree with everything you said Wezgu ESPECIALLY that PETER DID THIS FOR AUNT MAY AND NOT FOR IRON-MAN! Now that I've calmed down I am liking the directions that the unmasking can take for Peter. These will be new and exciting stories but even if its 1-2 even 3 years from now i just believe that Peter will go back to having a secret identity. Maybe May or M.J. die, maybe Peter and M.J. have a kid- or maybe the stress of his loved ones constantly being harrassed will make his overwhelming responsibility kick in and say " maybe i shouldn't have done this." I know right now he's in Avenger mansion and his family is safe but we all know thats not going to last especially with civil war- i doubt Peter will even be an Avenger... will there even be Avengers? I think to some extent that Peter wanted to do this for himself, i mean think about this guys- he's Spider-Man - i wouldn't mind people knowing who i am--- but anyway i could see it in the future-- May gets killed and Peter puts all the blame on himself, saying things like "Why did i have to be so selfish, why didn't i just use my better judgement and go to Cananda until this thing blew over" Another big problem i have with SpideyWeoponX (and dont think im going after you we just disagree- it really is all fun as you said) is you don't think there are any good reasons for a betrayal! There a plenty of reasons. For one, Peter asked Tony if he staged the whole Titanium man thing and Tony lied. Peter said, "you would tell me if you did" and Tony said "ofcourse"- I mean Peter just did the most monumental thing he has ever done in part to the blood oath with Tony and Tony lies to him. not to mention that Tony is going to go strong at the underground heroes and well - Peter isn't and i knwo this b/c i just listened to a podcast with Tom Bevvoor( the editor of civil war) he makes it sound like some of the rash moves Iron-Man makes might be to much for Peter to handle. If Tony asks Peter to take down Daredevil or Human Torch with force, will Peter do it? I dont think so, not in a million years b/c Peter fights for his friends and fights for what he believes in. i know he doesn't believe in fighting heroes, especially his friends. I personally don't believe he believes in the registration act but hey i could be wrong, i mean i never in a million years would have thought that Peter would unmask! I would be surprised if a betrayal doesn't take place b/c of Tony's character. He believes that what he is doig is right and therefore justifies all action, like lieing to Peter, holding the Illuminati discussions from Peter, and events that might take place in the future( such as secret attacks with the thunder-bolts or who knows...) The important thing here is that Iron-Man and Spider-Man really aren't that much alike and i dont see a budding father-son relationship growign here even though internally that might be what Peter is looking for. Im with other guys up about- im with spidey and cap but i have no problem with spidey chllin with iron-man- i would just like Tony to be totally open with Peter and respect this "blood oath" as much as Peter does. ryanparker87

at one time beyonder was losing his powers because his dimension was being ruined so he and madam web called on spiderman to help him defeat carnage and other of spideys greatest villans with a little help from other spideys from diffrent realities (or something like that) any way there was on spiderman who always stayed behind to help madame web and beyonder who was he? spiderman12901 16:28, 20 June 2006 (EDT)
I think that happened in the 1990's Spider-Man cartoon series. I can't remember any story like that in Marvel continuity.--Spidey:Weapon X 21:20, 20 June 2006 (EDT)
oh srry i just thought the tv series was just like the comics but do you know the answer any wayspiderman12901 15:19, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
Yes, I know who it was. It was a powerless actor who played Spider-Man on TV in his Universe.--Spidey:Weapon X 14:24, 10 July 2006 (EDT)
umm... and they needed him for what spiderman12901 21:11, 16 July 2006 (EDT)
After they defeated Spider-Carnage the 616 Peter Parker was brought back to Madame-Web and the powerless spdey, only to learn he was from our universe were spider-man is a charecter of fiction. He meets with Stan Lee and realises his life isn't so bad after all. This was the purpose of the other Spidey. david andrews 21:50, 16 July 2006 (EDT)
Yeah! I saw that episode on the 90's cartoon series. Wasn't it the last episode of that series? Spidey even takes Stan Lee for I ride through Manhatten. 1gunsnroses1
Does anyone know when Madame Webb ever showed up in the comics recently, besides the thing with the Five (or the Six, I forget). I only remember seeing her on the TV show.
See recent issues of Sensational Spider-Man (#25-27) where you see the effects of the Gathering of the Five may have offered her longevity, but not necessarily youth. See also: Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #210, 216, 229, 230, 239, 441 Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #96, Spider-Woman (3rd series) #1-4, 5,6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14 Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #14, Alias#17 --MikeFichera 23:13, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

Um, yeah, I´m not sure ASM 210 is what recently is supposed to mean... (Just joking, mike). --sononsj
A lot of people have thought Madame Web looking older in Sensational Spider-Man is a retcon, but in Amazing Spider-Man #14 (1999) she was shown looking younger. sononsj 22:18, 9 September 2006 (EDT)
ASM 210..seems like yesterday *sigh* - Retcon? No - just an update to the fate of her character. She was young in ASM #14 and through the Spider-Woman series (except for 1 setback, but then she got better). She showed up again in Alias #17 looking older, and now clearly in Sensational she's an old lady up on her web of life support again. Youth was fleeting. --MikeFichera 16:15, 11 September 2006 (EDT)
It's just that I'd heard everyone saying it was a retcon- What? No, she's old in ASM #14. Wait, let me check my back issues...
Yep, sure enough, she's in her chair thingy, in a black costume and looking unmistakably old with gray hair, talking to Julia Carpenter. Wait, lemme check ASM #5...
Don't see any thing, let me check #6...
Yep, there she is, black hair and no wrinkles, visiting Martha in the hospital. So old in ish 5 and nine issues later, she's old-looking again. (Just so you know, I actually did get up and check my back issues). sononsj 21:38, 15 September 2006 (EDT)
when you think marvel mostly the first super hero that pops into mind is spiderman. i'm starting to think spider man is the leader of marvel. is this true. fill me out.
Spider-Man is one of the well known characters in Marvel Universe, but I dont think you can say hes the leading one. There is many others as well known characters. --Wezqu 15:29, 23 June 2006 (EDT)
there is know marvel chqaracter That is more well known than spidey. it has more comic titles than any other marvel franchise. i like to comsider spider-man among what i like to call the big 3. which consists of superman batman and spider-man.--thewatcheromega
Depends what you are talking about. In continuity, Spider-Man, though famous, is no where near the level of Captain America, Iron Man or any other respected hero. Its reflected in a recent AMS arc: He really is more of a local hero than an international one, like Iron Man. His real world popularity doesn't change that he's not as big in the Marvel U.--Spidey:Weapon X 13:19, 26 June 2006 (EDT)
You say that Spiderman, Batman, and Superman are the big 3, but Spidey is the only one from Marvel, making him the Big 1 of Marvel. Also, if you ask Marvel fans today who their favorite character is, Spiderman's percentage would be higher than any other super hero's. Now I wouldn't call Spiderman Mr. Marvel, but I do call him the favorite. 1gunsnroses1
I had to chime in on this discussion. Spidey is my favorite and thus when its discussed about his fame, you have my attention. Spidey, I think is a favorite of the majority for one reason, not because of where he fights crime and takes his stand, but because of who he is. Batman, Iron Man, and Superman are great, but how many people are rich and can afford all the neat toys Batman and Iron Man have? How many people can relate to coming from another planet and only having a weakness to a special rock? Spidey is on a plane that more people can relate to. He's a normal guy fighting crime, super villians, and common life problems, like making his payments for rent, balancing his relationships with the women folk, and wanting to popular and accepted as Peter Parker. While I know its still unlikely to be bit by a spider and get cool powers, he's still the most easy to relate to.--Venomocity 16:23, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
at what point does spectacular spider-man diassembled fit into the amazing spider-man series?--thewatcheromega
Well after the "disasembled" story arc the "spectacular Spider-Man" comics did the "sins remembered" story arc which is a follow up to "sins past" (a story arc which was in the "Amazing Spider-Man #509-514") so thats the tie in. you can read it as a stand alone arc also but it does make more sence having read the other books first. david andrews 20:35, 28 June 2006 (EDT)
im a little disapointed in the spiderman 3 costume they should have done it like it is in the comics spiderman12901 15:11, 30 June 2006 (EDT)
Your right the costume is just his normal costume just black they should change the spider on it too unless they already have...
yeah they already have its just more scarier i just think the costume in the comics was better any way if thats spidermans costume whats venoms spiderman12901 15:16, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
that's a pretty good point. i really hope venom is'nt just going to end up being a pumped up version of spider-man. on a side note i'm thinkin about e-mailing the site abut adding the spider-man 3 game trailer to the game section, i mean it has just as much right to be on their as everything else. so anbody who thinks this is a good idea e-mail marvel asking to add the spider-man 3 GAME trailer to the spider-man games section. the more people who do this the more likely the idea is to be heard.--thewatcheromega
and yes venom will not be just a pumped spiderman. he has the teeth and all the other stuff. Ironstaffy7
Im not disapointed the spider-man 3 costume is cool and how dos Venoms costume look like --lekkim 18:13, 9 July 2006
Venom's costume looks pretty much like spidey's only black without the white lines but in the movie trailer don't the lines stay on spideys. in that case there is not much difference between spideys and venoms costume--marvelboy1994
I heard that Topher Grace (Eric Forman off of That 70's Show) is playing the part of Venom, or I guess Eddie Brock actually. I think it is going to be kind of hard to take him seriously. He's hilarious. I think it's cool how they are putting the Sandman and Green Goblin II in the movie, but with 3 villians it is going to be hard to stick to a good story line, or with the help of a great director I guess it could pump up the movie. 1gunsnroses1
Spiderman 3 looks very promising. Considering the movies got better from sm1- sm2, i figure this will be one hell of a blockbuster. The guy everybody's been waiting to see, especially me, VENOM, finally gets to have his fun wit Spidey. And besides that, they threw in the Sandman (who can easily make the jump to the big screen and be good) and the Green Goblin II (it was only a matter of time). I just wanna see how the plot unfolds with so many for Spidey to deal with.
Ok, my question is this, I heard a rumor, that its not going to be Green Goblin II, but they're going to make him the Hobgoblin. Is this true? If so, its another twist I'll just have to deal with, because the Hobgoblin I know is Jason Macendale. Thus it should be that Harry is going to be GG 2. But I dont have a definite, any body know?--Venomocity 16:11, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
ok here it goes, spideys costume isnt the same from the comics because he never went to the secret wars in the movies. what does this meen? this meens that he never got the chance to see spider-womans costume and get the idea that he would like a costume like that. the symbiote only took that form because that was spideys idea for a new costume. since they will not be playing out the secret wars in the movie, he never sees spider-womans costume and he never had the idea to change his costume so the symbiote just takes the form of the old costume(with minor changes). now venom on the other hand, venom is to look 100% like he did in the comics. they felt he was to big of a necessity for this movie and needed no changes because every spidey fan would be upset about it. now for harry/GG2/hobgoblin. harry will not be either the green goblin 2 or hobgoblin in SM3. rather he will just be plane old harry osborn dressed up in some ninja type outfit using his dads goblin gear( e.i glider, pumpkin bombs, etc.) to get revenge on spider-man. - maximum/carnage
I watched the trailer on sony.com and paused it when Harry's attacking Spidey, but as far as I can see, he's either in some black costume or in his street clothes. sononsj 20:20, 29 August 2006 (EDT)
Yo creo que deberían haber colocado en esta pelicula al final como expulsa a Venom de su cuerpo, y en la 4 apareceria Venom y el Shocker
I was looking through the cast list for Spider-man 4 and I am upset about it why would someone change the actors like the new Spider-man is not Tobey Maguire I would understand them changing Uncle Ben or Captain stacy but why would they change the main stars of the movie I mean I gotta say Tobey Maguire is the best person to play Spider-man. If you guys have any updates about the cast email me @firstname.lastname@example.org. -dbperez54
i think a good story for spiderman 5 (if they ever make one) whould be the same in the cival war issues with out the cival war where morlun kills peter and peter rises from the grave later and i heard that spiderman 4 will have vulture and carnagespiderman12901 15:33, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
okay cool but I hope Spidey become the Man-Spider in spider-man 4
there probably wont be a spidey 4&5 cus tobey is gonna stop after 3 so if they make a 4&5 without tobey itll kinda suck -- Ironstaffy7
Could you please tell me where you heard that spider-man 4 will be featuring vulture and carnage. i doubt you because theyre not even done making spider-man 3 yet. and also it took them months after the release of spider-man 2 just to come up with the sand man. and lastly sam had said sp3 was going to be the last spidey film because he did not want the spidey films to end up like the bat man films. oh, and one more thing. if your spreading rumor please dont, it gets peoples hopes or smashes other hopes. rumors are just messes waiting to happen.--thewatcheromega
wow the hopes and dreams part was pretty harshbut anyway i found it at youtube.com searching for spiderman 3 and tobey said that he signed up for the first 4 movies withought readind the script and i think that sam was wrong because tobey liked to play spiderman in the movie and kirsten well i dont know abought kirstin but tobey is good enough so they never have to switch actors for spiderman and they never have to keep doing the story over and over again to renew it and i said (if) they make a spiderman 5 .... spiderman12901 16:37, 6 July 2006 (EDT)
I think Tobey only sighned for 3 and he did realise it at the time thats why he was hessitant to sighn in case the first movie flopped. but ...well we know the rest. david andrews 16:56, 6 July 2006 (EDT)
He had signed a deal for two. They had to negotiate his contract again on the third. Also he and kirstin wanted to choose one of the villains and thats why Sandman is there. Also Raimi doesnt decide if the fourth movie is done. Producers decide that not the director. Also I would say that the second one was the bader one. Doctor Octopus wasnt never my favorite character and it would have been better if there was some other villain in it too.--Wezqu 18:06, 6 July 2006 (EDT)
wow, i really hope thhey don't just jump the "civil war" or "the other" because they would miss SO many great spidey storys--x10ofspades 20:31, 8 July 2006 (EDT)
If there is coming a spider-man 4 I think the villaims are Carnage and Lizard --lekkim 18:13, 9 July 2006
I just saw Tobey on T.V. (I think it was G4 or MTV news, not sure) and he himself said that he would make future spider-man movies if the story was good. And a narrator said that the cast from Spider-Man 3 answered some questions. Venom and Sandman are in the movie, and Spidey fights Harry as well. The clip from the movie showed Harry surrounded with pumpkin bombs so... He might or might not be the green goblin. chizzaz 14:15, 25 July 2006 (EDT)
So...how many Spidermans are there actually going to be. I think it would be cool if they brought in the Sinister Six for the 6th movie. 1gunsnroses1
Well, I have to say it would definitley be tough to put the Civil War on film. After all, the aspect it would have to cover would be huge. It would have to be multi parters in order to cover it all. Besides, I've never liked "Hero vs government" type episodes, just like in the last Hulk movie ... the only good he could do in the end is run away, thats horrible. (just personal opinion) While I'm not sure how many Spidey films that Tobey and Kirsten signed up for, I still want more! Just being that I'm a Spidey fan. I do have to say this, Spidey should keep it up on the silver screen as long as he can, because nobody really gets tired of the webhead.--Venomocity 16:04, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
i think scorpion and and nightmare should be in the next movie.(lbscuz)
Yeah there is going to be a Spiderman 4 and 5. With my favourite character Carnage, YESSSSSSSSSSS! Its going to be awsome!
when spiderman dies because of morlun the avengers wraped him up and put him in a coffin does something crawl out of him and make a clone of him under a bridge and also there are two clones because there is another one?spiderman12901 18:36, 6 July 2006 (EDT)
Ok, I try to make it more clear to you. Peter died, but the part of him that was the Spider didnt die. It ate Morlun and took power from him. It then used that power to regenerate body or rather evolve it to the next stage. Like they told in the comics some spiders can shed their skins. He isnt a clone but rather ingarnation. Like phoenix that raises from the ashes to live again. Thats what happened to Spider-Man he was born again and better than ever. Also the other clone you talked about isnt a clone neither. Easy way to explains it is that she is Spideys new nemesis. Other side of the coin but the same person. Spider-Man's reborn was let to happen by a great entity, but other entity who didnt want him to be reborn created that other thing. Rules are simple they cant both live only one has the future and witch one will take it is in the air. --Wezqu 20:52, 6 July 2006 (EDT)
thanks i just didnent get it some one should specify the detailsspiderman12901 21:49, 7 July 2006 (EDT)
I am going to have to agree with the majority, I am disapointed with the costume. I think it should look like the costume in the comics and in the old Playstation game. To me making the costume black doesn't signal enough that the symbiote has taken over. I think it should be more obvious that this isn't just some black fabric, but a living creature that is on peter.
do they have bios of spiderphoenix spiderhulk spiderman 2211 and spider x spiderman12901 21:49, 7 July 2006 (EDT)

Shouldnt he be listed under imposters? --sononsj
Not for my opinion. He though that he was the real Spider-Man so he didnt intentionally impersonate him. Shouldnt imposters be guys who intentionally wore the costume of other character. He is same as Ben Reilly even if Ben Reilly used the indentity later when Peter temporally retired. --Wezqu 18:54, 24 July 2006 (EDT)

In 1994, the Spiderman animated series came out with Stan Lee as the executive producer and John Semper as the main story writer. It lasted for 5 seasons and ended in 1997. Personally, I thought the series was great, even though the story got twisted a little bit from the comic books. The series included all of the main villains like Venom, Doc Ock, the Hobgoblin, and many more, and it had other main Marvel characters in it such as Captain America and the X-men. Stan Lee was even put into the final episode! I would like to hear some feed-back on the series and what other people may have thought about it. 1gunsnroses1
I loved the series, when I could catch it. The thing is I would love to find it on DVD or something so I could see the ones I've missed. I know they deviated from the comics a bit, but it was still a good story to them and they kept my attention. I know you can find them in parts, like the Venom saga, Doc Ock, Green Goblin and stuff like that, but let me know if there is a way to attain the series on DVD or otherwise to I could get them.--Venomocity 16:32, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
Good news, I now have the animated series and purchased it through website at http://themediadepot.tv/. It's really great now to have the whole collection of the series. It's a little pricey, but its worth it to me.--Venomocity 10:58, 24 January 2007 (CST)
The series is amazing I wish they did not stop makeing it. I think it would be good with all the Spider-Man movies coming out that they should make a new series and give it better animation. It should still stick to the comics; nothing about it should be changed because that would destroy the purpose of it.
I would like to know if anyone read "The Gathering of the Sinister Six" or "The Secret of the Sinister Six" Spiderman books. They were written by Adam-Troy Castro and the main villain's name was the Gentleman who had discovered Spiderman's true identity. The Gentleman brought together six villains including a new character named Pity (who was thought to be Spidey's sister). Doc Ock, the Vulture, Chameleon, Electro, and Mysterio made up the rest of the Sinister Six who wanted vengence on Spiderman. Please give some feedback if you read it. I thought the books were very good. 1gunsnroses
While its embarassing, I have "The Secret of the Sinister Six" but I haven't read it all the way through. I thought they were getting at Pity being his sister though I just didn't get far enough through it. I need to finish reading it, the only reason I stopped was I finished not too long ago, the 3 book series of "Times Arrow". It was based around Spidey and the X-Men trying to keep Time itself protected. In it Spidey meets an alternate Spidey from another time and space, one who was married to Gwen Stacy and his Uncle Ben was still alive, yet he had his powers too. It was a great series. I'll finish "The Secret of the Sinister Six" now that you've mentioned it.--Venomocity 16:38, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
I have read both novels and i thought it was ok bit it left me hang if pity was really spidey's sister or not

Categories are only for characters from the Marvel 616 Universe or characters that have interacted with the Marvel 616 Universe enough to be included. Both Spider-Man (2099) and Spider-Girl are part of their own universe and have not interacted in the Marvel 616 Universe to be included. Because of that, they were removed. --DragynWulf 05:46, 4 August 2006 (EDT)
oh so where can i find them in catagory?11:02, 5 August 2006 (EDT)spiderman12901 11:02, 5 August 2006 (EDT)
I don't think that is right. I would think that the categories of the main heroes like hulk ,ff,and of course our friendly neighborhood spider-man should contain all of the bios that have to do with the specific category and not just stopping in the 616 universe. it's like what hobgoblin from friendly neighborhood spider-man said about the nexus points and how important people have universes created when they said yes instead of no. The universes still circle around one being. I think that that those universe's people should be included in the main being's category.i hope that everyone can understan that. I'm not very good with words.--thewatcheromega
No matter how big or small the role of a being, they still play a purpose. HEHE, I think it would be great to include as many of the Marvel characters as possible. Just like, (I may be blind) but I can't find anything on Julia Carpenter - SpiderWoman. I think it would be great if a little info and bio could included for all the characters. Am I alone in my thinking though?--Venomocity 16:44, 11 August 2006 (EDT)
How long did Spider-Man have the webs stretching from his elbow (forearm?) to his waist. I see it in Amazing Fantasy 15 but when they made Amazing Fantasy 16-18 to fill the gap between AF15 and Amazing Spider-Man I don't see the webs. They're not nessecary but I thought they were a cool detail. --CrowHawkins 13:27, 24 August 2006 (EDT)

I was wondering if it would be okay for me to add some of the altenate spider-men bios to this category (spider-man 2099, peter paragauh, spider-girl, ect.)?p.s. how do you guys get yor name colored like that?--thewatcheromega
We had them up, then did a reorganization moving them out leaving only the main Marvel U in the Spider-Man category. Other alternate realities are in their own categories, unless there's major interactions between the alt.u character and the main Marvel U of Earth-616. So, folks like Bishop and Rachel Summers can stay in the 616 category. To light up your name, look for the edit buttons that start with "B" for "BOLD" - it's the icon second from the right, looks like a signature..between the "No Wiki" and the Horizontal Line Dash..when making edits. Or else, type "- - ~ ~ ~ ~" without the spaces. --MikeFichera 22:08, 4 September 2006 (EDT)

I really doubt the new suit will last much longer and would be surprised to see it any further than the battle with Iron Man. Peter Parker has expressed thoughts that suit may be giving Stark information about him and his powers. As Stark did research to find out who the identidies of other superheroes were, I'm sure also did the samething about their powers. The new suit was his tool to information on Spidey/Peter.
What's going to happen post-civil war? Spider-Man's identity is out the window, and now everyone, including the villains, knows that Spider-Man is Peter Parker. This pretty much ruins the ability for regular people to connect to the comic if Peter is going to become a full-time super hero like the Fantastic Four. Whatever... Ultimate Spider-Man is still cool.
there are 28 spideys arnt there?
Hi eveybody its been a while since i decided to post anything, but there is something that has been nagging at me. peter parker should be 57 years old. I've noticed marvel seems to neglect illustrating the actual age of their super heros and I was wandering spider-man is going to be like 30 years from now (not to mention all the other super heroes). Sure i geuss you could say that their powers keep them looking young but what's going to happen when they all should be dead? I think marvel shoud slowly alter the characters every year or something or mabey a time jump like they did in the Naruto series. welp, tell me what ever you think about the matter, peace out!--thewatcheromega
I agree with you. But, Who will be the next spider-man when Peter Parker dies. And who will be the next Daredevil when Matt Murdor dies. So, your desission doesn't seems to work
yeah, captain america and iron man and nick fury all came out durring the world war, that was along time ago, and evan in the comic books the world war was going on, they would be really really old by now. i have thought about how they would make spiderman old and how they would get a spiderman, and there isnt really much they can do exapt just keep him at the same age, i mean they can make him look a bit older and just give him little bit of wrinkles maybe a tiny bit of grey hair, but they cant get a completely new spiderman replacing spiderman, it just wouldnt be right, there pulling it off with captain america but i dont think they could do it with spiderman. but of course if they did he could just get a kid, but it should be a boy not a girl.
Is there a section on the identity crisis. I don't think there is. Just wondering. It was pretty important.
Fist of all I can't keep track of the spiderman costumes. There are a lot know and I am losing it. I have seen another costume today..I forgot what the name was but I know it is to hard to keep track. Second, I one hundred agree with how old spiderman is. It is time for another spiderman, or there is not another spiderman. Who knows maybe after all the movies(witch is going to take foever) they will reavel it. Finally, I thought Dare Devil was dead. In one of the issuse it shows him dieing. Did he come back. I don't really know. --Adam
I am going to post something else. There are 28 costumes, I just found out. --Adam
The word "her" is missing in the phrase "use Peter to make (her) fiancé Lance Bannon jealous". --Lonesome Pinky 04:01, 28 January 2007 (CST)
Didn't really want to make another topic about this but these two aliases should also be listed in the page. "Cartwright" used in "X-Men and Spider-Man: Time's Arrow: Book 1: The Past" and "Mad Dog #336" used in "Amazing Spider-Man #295". --Wezqu 07:02, 28 January 2007 (CST)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but "Cartright" probably shouldn't be included as it was only in the book. --sononsj 19:03, 5 March 2007 (EST)
Well just another alias that is missing from the alias section "Amazing Octo-Spidey". He used it in "Spider-Man: Funeral for an Octopus #2 (1995)" --Wezqu 11:21, 12 March 2007 (CDT)
Thanks guys! Sorry it too so long. Spider-Man Back in Black Handbook took up most of my time these past months...--MikeFichera 18:18, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
I deleted the picture on the disambig of the "MC2 Spider-Man" because it's not of Gerry Drew, the son of Spider-Woman, but rather of a Spider-Man that appeared in Spider-Girl #10 and #11. In those issues, Spider-Girl travelled back in time, where she encountered Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but it is unclear if that Spider-Man was the original Spider-Man from the MC2 universe, the Spider-Man from Earth-616, or a Spider-Man from a different universe entirely. In either case, he wasn't the Gerry Drew Spider-Man (Gerry Drew had a different costume). I'll post a pic of the correct Spider-Man ASAP. sononsj 23:09, 4 March 2007 (EST)
I can understand why the page might be locked, however I wanted to edit the Relatives section. If a mod can somehow edit it, I wanted to add Cousin Howard (Cousin).
The picture on the front of the Bio. of spiderman is really cool. --Adam
Could you provide the issue reference for where Cousin Howard is from? Does Aunt May refer to him in some anecode?--MikeFichera 18:09, 29 March 2007 (EDT)
I want (or someone to) to update it with Gauntlet events, or more information on Brand New Day. I am saying this beacuse, for example,Ana Kravinoff is updated all the way to before New Ways to Die. Spider-Man is at the begining of Brand New Day in the article, and this is when it was no longer in the subtitle of BND. I would at least like it to be updated to before New Ways to Die, preferablly after that, and I would be totally content with after Character Assasination. The Thunderbolts & Nova are already updated through Dark Reign, so Spider-Man should be too. -- jc1569 18:23, March 14, 2010
Even though Spidey wasn't born with mutant powers, the spider bite changed him into a "mutant". Even if he isn't a full fledged mutant, he is an honorary x-man according to Prof. X. Toure
If you don't know there has been few who has born with powers. Only that comes to mind now is the Multiple Man but his has been said to be something else than a mutant now. Almost all mutants gets their powers when they come of age. They don't really born with them even if they might even have the genes for them its not proven that they get one specific power even if its also shown to be inheritable like Cyclops and his brother or Peak's and Angel's children. Spider-Man did have a mutation in his body but he wasn't born with the x-gene and thats the key point in it. Also its was revealed that the spider bite might not have been the one that gave him the powers but his destiny to be the Spider totem. Also even if he is a mutated human he isn't a mutant because when you refer someone to be a mutant in marvel universe it means that they had the genetic mutation all along and are rather another offshoot of human race. Spider-Man is a human and thats also how he sees himself like it was shown in the House of M saga and many others. On my point of view he isn't a mutant even if he went trough mutation. Almost forgot to mention that you don't have to be a mutant to be a member of X-Men. For example Juggernaut. --Wezqu 20:08, 31 March 2007 (CDT)
Yeah I have to agree. he is kind of a muntant! --Adam MarvelFan0987 Carnage Rules
I was looking at the Spider-Man (Peter Parker) profile and noticed a disambiguation link for May Parker. In the bio text there is the correct link for Aunt May. I tried to edit the links but the edit option was not available. Are some characters off limits? If so, in the future, do I just leave a message for you?- mickeys4life
Spider-Man's profile is locked from public editing. Thanks for the edit! - fixed it now. --MikeFichera 21:17, 1 July 2007 (CDT), moderator
The Judas Traveller link is also pointing the wrong place as its the characters real name it should be listed as "Traveller, Judas" but now its listed as "Judas Traveller". --Wezqu 11:15, 27 December 2007 (CST)
1- Why does Spidey's disambiguation page have a "D" instead of the lower case "d" in disambiguation while almost every other profiles (besides Scorpion) disambiguation starts with the lower case "d"?
I'll go fix that D. Thanks --MikeFichera 11:57, 30 July 2007 (CDT) (moderator)
2- The Spider-Man:imposter profile (not created) and the Spider-Man:Mysterio profile (redirect to Mysterio's profile), are they the same person? I read Mysterio's profile and the only imposter mentioned was himself. - --mickeys4life 17:12, 27 July 2007 (CDT)
It was long time ago moved to that name and they haven't fixed it yet they will get to it eventually. Also that other imposter that worked for Mysterio was in Spider-Man Unlimited #4 and Mysterio himself was imposter in Amazing Spider-Man #1. --Wezqu 19:22, 27 July 2007 (EDT)
OK....I wasn't sure since I havent read those stories...I have about a 15 year gap to fill up on since I came back to collecting. - --mickeys4life 18:31, 27 July 2007 (CDT)
What ever happened to spideys web shooters? I read a back in black issue not to long ago and spider-man had natural webbing, did this have something to do with the other storyline? and if not what happened? --fantasticthing
Peter was dying but the Spider inside wouldn't die and it was really the Spider side that killed Morlun. He then ate some parts of Morlun and used the energy from it to "reborn" so to say as he now was more as a Spider than before he got several new abilities and organic web was one of them. Peter can rebuild them if he needs them but there is not really a reason to do so because he has organic webbing now. --Wezqu 12:31, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
Actually, the organic webs came after he was mutated by the Queen - after being killed by Morlun, he gained some other spider-like abilities including night vision, motion sensing using his hairs, vibration sensing from his weblines, and greater overall adhesion across his body. --MikeFichera 11:23, 18 September 2007 (CDT) (Moderator)
Oh yeah I forget the Queen part entirely. --Wezqu 14:22, 18 September 2007 (EDT)
Hey Dave here, Anyone think we should change the bio picture back to red'n'blue again? I only ask because he's wearing the suit again in all his main titles but it seems the black suit is still active in both Avengers titles and World War Hulk (though thats finished now). I think its just the avengers book waiting to wrap up their current arc now. Their continuity is wacked out a bit. New avengers did their Venom Virus issue while the Mighty Avengers are only starting theirs now? any way I'm starting to ramble now so I'll stop. Some body let me know what happens the bio pic please. - david andrews 09:13, 26 November 2007 (CST)
Hey Dave here, With the OMD and BND events I think we should note that Pete may not have have gone under the many aliases listed now. I know its not "confirmed" but technically i don't think he would have been ricochet, Hornet, Prodigy, and I'm not sure about "Tiger". I know we shouldn't just erase them from the bio I mean that should just to post a note about them like we did with the powers section about Morlun and The Queen. Just a tidy up really.
Also Whats with the Bogus "1" link? --david andrews 05:48, 24 January 2008 (EST)
How can you be sure about it? If you think he didn't use those aliases then there would not be four characters that used those aliases after him. I don't think that Mephisto really changed the reality just changed memories and put some new people here and there (like bringing Harry back). So in fact he has used those aliases but might not remember or he did use those aliases as clone saga happened and Ben Reilly existed and went for jail on his behalf. Still changing the bio too much now would be stupid because I don't think this thing is permanent change. This is just one of those many tricks they use to bring long dead characters back alive. Also if you in reality would want to change the bio like he would have not used those aliases you would have remove almost all stuff after they got married and that would be almost half of the bio as it would not be correct. Still even if he doesn't remember to have used those aliases don't change the fact that he has. Also Peter and Mary did have short relationship so "Tiger" could still be on the table. Still the reason why they mentioned that in the power section was because those are notable things changed there is no proof he didn't use the aliases. --Wezqu 05:13, 24 January 2008 (CST)
I get what you mean man I don't mean to wipe them from the bio just to note them. My main reason though was that MJ was the one who designed the suits for those aliases its why I didn't say Dusk as Pete found that suit. If they weren't marrried Pete may have designed them himself? I just remember seeing MJ finding the Riochet Jacket with the "ensignia on the back" and wondering about it. I don't mean to say I'm totally correct here but its a very hazy and debatable issue that may cause a stir. I dont mean to wipe them out of the bio just to outline the possability, as for the rest of the bio text I don't think it never happened, the way it is now is cool just with the OMD paragraph at the end to explain or shed some light on it. I just think we might need something like that under the alias section. It wouldn't even have to be spesific to a particular alias. Some thing along the lines of " AFTER THE EVENTS OF "ONE MORE DAY" AND "BRAND NEW DAY" SOME ALIASES MAY OR MAY NOT BE IN CURRENT CONTINUITY" just something rough. --david andrews 06:36, 24 January 2008 (EST)
I know quite a lot of those aliases as I was one who did bios about Hornet and Prodigy of the Slingers here. Yes you are right Dusk costume he got from Negative Zone if I don't remember wrong. Still Hornet costume Peter himself build from Hobie Brown's equipment. Prodigy costume was also build by Peter. Ricochet was the only one that had some doing with Mary Jane as she was the one who bought the jacket. Still how can you really know that Peter somehow happened to buy the same jacket. Still its not known how that really effected his life. Only those things are known that are shown in the comics. Also is it so important as its quite easy to realize that some of them would not fit anymore. Still its same to me if its added but still I doubt that they will add that. --Wezqu 05:56, 24 January 2008 (CST)
Guys, MJ was with Pete as a couple - we know they were engaged - and as far as we know most of the events you've read about in the comics still happened. He was certainly called Tiger many times in their relationship, and as far as we know, the Identity Crisis storyline still happened. He may have still been transformed by the Queen and Morlun - but all we know is that today, he doesn't have the extra powers anymore, and that's all we can say. I'm working closely with Spider-Editorial on any changes here. If something is revealed in the comics saying something didn't happen, then I'll take it out - or, more likely, leave it as part of his history and note that it was removed after OMD. --MikeFichera 00:06, 25 January 2008 (EST)
Thanks Mike, I didn't mean to cause too much of a rucuss over this didn't mean to step on anyones toes here either sorry if I did though.Wasn't my intention. OMD did cause a bit a "who what when?" scenario in the Marvel Universe section as imagined but i guess it'll just be a gradual process to sort out the do's and dont's david andrews 10:54, 27 January 2008 (EST)
I dont like BND...and especially the way it ended...its going to be really difficult for spidey now...aww men, mephisto jus like transform the world and everything that happen ryt untill that moment was all lost?...hmm, i dont know...-- spidey 802 3:25, march 12 2008 (EST)
