Foreseeing the mutants as a terrible threat to humanity, Dr. Trask created Master Mold and the Sentinels to fight the mutants. The Sentinels turned on him after deciding that in order to protect humans they must control them. After being forced to help Master Mold with its plan to control mankind he finally decided to stop them by sacrificing himself.
