The Ultimator was a member of the terrorist group known as ULTIMATUM. When peace talks between foreign countries Carnelia and Trebekistan began, ULTIMATUM sent the Ultimator to stop the peace treaty. In order to do so, the Ultimator took the Carnellian Prime Minister hostage during a showing of The Lion God play. The NYPD, knowing that many of them had dealt with ULTIMATUM before, called the Avengers to the scene. After blasting Iron Man with a shot from his plasma gun, the Ultimator was taken down by Firestar's microwave energy. Justice confiscated his weapon, only to have it explode via a suicide option embedded in its technology. As the other Avengers contained the blast, the Vision made sure that the Ultimator lived to see trial for his misdeeds.
