Creating a profile

Christian69, please don't plagiarize (copy) from other websites like Wikipedia. We want information written to be original text as much as possible. You can take text from any of the OFFICIAL HANDBOOKS OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, however if you do, please list the source (issue) where you got it from in the summary area. When writing the history for a character remember to write it like you were the Marvel character the Watcher, just standing around only observing the actions taking place. So there should be no references to a comic title or number in the history. Just information that you see happen within the comic itself.
Please use a template when creating a profile for a character, team, event or anything else. You can find some help with creating profiles in the Help area and the templates themselves in the Help Posting area of the site. The templates are used to create a standard system for the Marvel Encyclopedia to show a uniformity with the entire site.
Also when making a profile, please list as much information as possible. If you know the character's hair or eye color, then list that. If you know their powers, weapons or appearances, then please list those as well. Profiles that only have a one line for information and nothing else won't get approved.
Hope this helps you understand things a little better. If not the feel free to ask questions. --DragynWulf 23:28, 19 July 2006 (EDT)

A few tips for you when making a profile properly.
The character you are writing the profile for does not need to be linked to the character. For example, Deathbird does not need a link to Deathbird. Links are for cross referencing with other characters.
Plagiarizing (copying) from another website (Wikipedia for example) is wrong and will only result in the profile being deleted.
A character’s name does not need to be in bold text and a link to a character needs to be made the first time it is mentioned. An example of this is when talking about the character Bishop, only one link needs to be made about Bishop.
When mentioning one member of the X-Men, the name should be singular (one character) and not plural (more than one). So instead of saying “X-Men Bishop”, it should be “X-Man Bishop”. The link to the team “X-Men” can be created by typing it the following way: X-Man. The same can be done for links like Atlas, Daredevil and all others. The first name is the actual link to the character/event/team and the name after it is the description of the link/name.
Also when writing profiles, it is best to do a spell check on the text to make sure there are no spelling errors. This is just one reason why we don’t want posters to plagiarize websites (the main reason is for legal reasons). For example the Deathbird profile you plagiarized from Wikipedia had typos in the text.
Because of these reasons, your Deathbird profile can not be approved. Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. --DragynWulf 14:42, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
