Hey Pete, I was wondering if you were going to add/create an alien races section so we could put out articles on the Kree, Skrull, Brood, Badoon, Technarx, Shi'ar, etc. --IRISH4869 13:30, 10 March 2006 (EST)
I'm planning on making that template when I have time. Until then, hold off. --pete 09:24, 13 March 2006 (EST)
Some of us (boldly or foolishly) went ahead and made articles for Kree, Skrulls, Shi'ar, and Atlanteans. I did the last one and I used the "Team Template" as that's what someone else did for Skrulls. I hadn't read this talk page at the time when I made the article. In the interest of speeding the process along, I made a potential rough draft of a "Race Template" and posted it to the Marvel Universe:Wanted talk page. Hopefully it's useful and can save you some time. Cheers, --Lonesome Pinky 17:24, 7 July 2006 (EDT)

There have been several users who have pointed out that the Exiles are listed as being Age of Apocalypse when most of them are not. There really isn't a proper place to put them, so can you make an Exiles category? That way you can remove the confusing files. Also, their names need to be changed (Nocturne, Mimic, Morph, etc.) from AoA to Exiles I suppose. i know I can't edit page names and all, but will I be able to at some point or is that not covered in the hero points. I was also wondering how many hero points is the current requirement to get to approve posts and edits. I noticed I was able to approve after __ points (now I have a few more then that). Anyway, sorry to bug you Pete. Later -- IRISH4869 01:47, 15 March 2006 (EST)
There's a problem with the move functions. I'm going to move these directly in the database. --pete 10:31, 16 March 2006 (EST)
Pete, Never mind about changing the Sunfire (Age of Apocalypse) to Sunfire (Exiles) I just created my own and made it all work out. But the T-Bird entry should still be changed. -- IRISH4869 03:29, 20 March 2006 (EST)
Hopefully your the guy to come to with this - The X-23 Marvel Universe link from the marvel.com's main page is incorrect its linking to:
Which brings up the Sasquatch error page.
There is something wrong with the file upload page. It says "The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file." and its done this to multiple files from different locations; just thought you should know.--Viper
Do you have the base image that is associated with the eternity banner I added to the Cosmic category? I was wondering because I trying to create an Eternity bio and that image is the best picture of eternity I have been able to find, and you uploaded it, so I figured you might have the base image.--Viper
What is a bad naming convention???????
I know this has nothing to do with the Marvel Universe, but there is something wrong with the catalog section of marvel.com--Viper
Are you going to create a template for creators???? -- IRISH4869 11:48, 3 April 2006 (EDT)
I have an orange bar that says the above, but when I click it there is no new message. Is there or a problem, or am I being rather stupid again? Cactusrob
Your not stupid, Mine does that to, it's just a bug. --Viper 10:44, 13 April 2006 (EDT)
It's a bug. We're working on it... --pete 10:42, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
For some reason users are being added to the contributors list even if their edits haven't been approved, although this might be one of the many glitches only pertaining to my account. --Viper 12:26, 17 April 2006 (EDT)
The original way I did it caused people's contributions to disappear after a while, so I changed it so that it adds everything. As later revisions are approved, the unapproved contributors will disappear. I'd rather over count the contributors than have people who worked hard on a revision not get credit. We'll keep tweaking, of course, to get this working better. --pete 10:46, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
Ok, thanks --Viper 19:41, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
We seem to have a bug that makes certain images disappear. cactusrob 18:16, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
With some of them it is because they are GIFs and not JPEGS. Like the Marvel Universe entry for example. --DragynWulf 18:32, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
A lot of JPEGs are going missing too though. cactusrob 20:00, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
Are creators no longer included in entries. When did this start, and why aren't we doing it any more. -- IRISH4869 22:31, 20 April 2006 (EDT)
Yeah, creators have been removed from the character bios. I don't know exactly why, but as a guess it could be because of numerous problems. Disputes over what creator created what character, legal problems with some characters (Charcoal), and many other things could factor into it. But again, it is just a guess. --DragynWulf 10:49, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
When a user goes to the recent changes page, is that a list of recent changes that were approved, or a list of changes that needs to be approved? I ask this because sometimes I see my changes in it right after and sometimes not. Are we allowed to only make so many changes a day if were new users?
The recent changes page shows both the ones that need to be approved and the ones that have been approved. sononsj 22:27, 24 April 2006 (EDT)
Is there a template for Items?
So I created and wrote the profile for the Excelsior team and I went to go add some info, and I noticed that they have been chnaged to the Loners? I might not be up on the info that you are, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't done in comics so what happened?? - IRISH4869 04:42, 10 May 2006 (EDT)
Hi Pete David here , I just saw that my user page and others all seem to be filled in red for some reason , when i go to my user page it askes would like to edit the page ? whats going on? david andrews 20:20, 20 May 2006 (EDT)
Not to be a jerk but when I get my e-mail from Marvel.com I like to look at the comics. But when I try to look at closer them by clicking on them I only can see the top half of them. This is VERY ANNOYING, especially when look at comics like ANNILATION #1.
I'm not sure what's happening, and I'm not able to replicate that particular problem. Can you send me the URL where it happened (or just describe what particular page you were on)? --pete 13:48, 26 May 2006 (EDT)
Why are my posts being deleted? I had one in the main section about Daredevil 2 that was just up and deleted. Is there any reason? PseudoSherlock 07:54, 27 May 2006 (EDT)
Apparently it's just random deletions. So, nevermind. PseudoSherlock 16:37, 5 June 2006 (EDT)
hey Pete, Dave here i just uploded a couple of civil war banners thought you might want to take a look at them they should be in the upload log if not you could look in recent changes and let me know if there ok for the site david andrews 20:07, 27 May 2006 (EDT)
There has been a long standing debate over categories and whether or not alternate reality characters should be added to "mainstream" categories. I feel that alternate reality characters should only be included in one of the three situations:
1.) The character is generally considered to be part of the 616 Universe even though his/her origins may have been in another reality (ie. Longshot, Marvel Girl, Howard the Duck (although I could never figure out if he was an alien or a multi-versal refugee, so he might not apply))
2.) The character may have been originally introduced in an alternate reality, but has appeared in 616 continuity (ie. Black Archer, Blue Eagle, Quagmire, Spider-Man 2099).
3.) The character has had extensive interaction with 616 characters (ie. Master Menace, Maestro)
I think those are pretty good grounds for determining, but we need someone to state once and for all what the deal is. Keep in mind as more and more characters are added the categories could be come crowded with alternate reality characters. If you wouldn't mind, could you hit me back in my own discussion page when you get a chance?
PS Tell emorton I miss her! -- IRISH4869 05:20, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
But what about Alternate reality places like i was going to do the Mutant X universe and the Characters along with X.S.E and maybe even Team x 200 or Mang averse i know its alot but can i do at least two of those. xtreme112
When a poster creates a redirect, it seems to cause all contributions to not transfer along with the redirect. They stay on the first name and when the second name is created and everything redirected, it gives the person doing the redirect full credit as contributor.
Example: "Spider-Man" contributors could be killgrave, wildone, scavage and Folder. Then if I were to redirct it to "Spider-Man (Peter Parker)", the profile would become a new profile and I would be listed as the only contributor even though I just redirected everything and did nothing to the profile.
I don't mind just moving profiles instead of using redirects, so would we just be able to put something in there that says to ask a Mod to move a profile instead? --DragynWulf 11:25, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
It seems to me that it doesn't matter what people do, contributorship just disappears randomly anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about trying to escape it, just keep a list somewhere (like your profile), so people know. PseudoSherlock 17:35, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
It doesn't always happen. When a redirect is done every previous contributor is removed and given to the person what created the redirect. When the profile is moved by a Mod, the contributor's credits follows.
I am not worried about my contributions, it is other posters getting credit. If something like this helps, I don't mind doing moving the profile. --DragynWulf 00:00, 4 July 2006 (EDT)
Hi Pete, I'm a newbie here (less than a week). I see that you are the sysop for the site. Since I'm not sure where else to report it, I wanted to tell you about an error message that I'm getting. I was trying to track down and reconcile all instances of "Morgan Le Fay", change the capitalization as necessary, and link them to her article. (I am using the search key "Morgan" since adding "le" matches any word that has those letters in it.) However, I can't see more than the first 20 iterations. When I click on the next 20 link (or next 50, etc.), I get this error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /usr/local/apache2/sites/marvel.com/htdocs/universe3zx/includes/SpecialSearch.php on line 335
Not being familiar with Apache (or function calls in general), I'm not sure what this means, but I know it's something I can't fix. Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks, --Lonesome Pinky 19:23, 7 July 2006 (EDT)
I don't know if you fixed something, but I no longer get this error message. Cheers! --Lonesome Pinky 16:56, 23 December 2006 (CST)
Thanks for fiddling with the Marvel Knights 2099 stuff. I didn't even realize until today that they were separate, though I was always confused why they seemed to have slightly different histories. Now, if it's labeled as Marvel Knights 2099, is it still okay to have the bios in the Marvel 2099 category? Or should there be a whole new category? Also, thanks for the update of my Ultimate Universe page, as I really only knew the information that I wrote down, and haven't even read the Ultimates comics. I only got my SHIELD info from Ultimate Spider-Man. PseudoSherlock 13:56, 11 July 2006 (EDT)
I would categorize the MK 2099 characters as such to avoid confusion. It's already confusing enough because the names are so similar. --pete 15:15, 11 July 2006 (EDT)
I wholeheartedly agree. Which is good, because I'm just about to put up the Daredevil 2099 profile. And it's good that it's figured out now, or else it could get very confusing, very fast. PseudoSherlock 16:08, 11 July 2006 (EDT)
Umm...Yogi Dakor is a title, not a complete name. Essentially his codename. Yogi is the title of one who practices Yoga, usually someone who is advanced in the discipline. So, by renaming him "Dakor, Yogi," you're doing the same thing as if I renamed Captain America, "America, Captain." Yogi's not his first name... PseudoSherlock 10:18, 26 July 2006 (EDT)
Why is it that the change I made to this talk page and the Solo page 4 months ago have still not shown up? FocusPoint
The change to the talk page is because when a poster posts one or more times on the same talk page, only one of those posts can be approved. So if you post 20 different times to this page, only one of them will show up. If you want to post numerous times to one page, use the edit button at the top of the page and add the discussions in the areas you want to talk. This adds to the entire page and not one section of it and will allow the entire page to be changed instead of one section.
As for the Solo page, it could have gotten overlooked, the information might have had typos or been incorrect. I can't say which one it is because I don't remember seeing it. Feel free to repost it and it will be looked over. --DragynWulf 08:51, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
Hi Pete, What's the good word on Template:Species? Is it considered acceptable for use? Currently, most articles on aliens (as well as domestic variant races) are using Template:Team. --Lonesome Pinky 17:15, 23 December 2006 (CST)
Lonesome Pinky here. Something very bizarre just happened. I went to sign in as normal and now it shows me as logged in as MikeFichera! I'm going to log out and log back in and hopefully this will fix the problem. But I thought you should be made aware of it. I've never seen anything like this before. I'll try signing this with the tildes to see what happens. --Lonesome Pinky 22:55, 2 January 2007 (CST)
OK, my signature says Lonesome Pinky, but near the top of the screen it still says that I am signed in as "MikeFichera". Very bizarre. I haven't logged out yet. I'll do that now. --Lonesome Pinky 22:57, 2 January 2007 (CST)
Now it shows me signed in as norvey. I don't even know who that is. Very bizarre. --Lonesome Pinky 23:15, 2 January 2007 (CST)
I have samekind of problem, but it shows that I'm not logged in even if I am because I can edit bios. Also login go button links to House of M bio so I'm not going to logoff this before I know that I can login again. --Wezqu 06:28, 3 January 2007 (CST)
Today the problem seems to have corrected itself. I am myself once again. (I also experienced the "showing logged out, but still can edit bios" thing that Wezqu did. That happened after I logged out the second time.) Cheers! --Lonesome Pinky 19:19, 3 January 2007 (CST)
Hi Pete, I presume that you oversee the bios that are highlighted on the main marvel.com page. The one that came up when I logged in just now was Quasar. However, following the link leads you to a disambiguation page, not to Wendell Vaughn's bio. Presumably, Quasar hadn't been disambiguated at the time when the highlight link was created. I'd fix it if I could, but I assume that this is something which only your web team can do. So, I wanted to make you aware of it. Cheers! --Lonesome Pinky 21:38, 21 January 2007 (CST)
The same problem occurs with Captain America. It points to the dab page, not to Captain America (Steve Rogers). I've been checking the other bios, but so far, these two are all that I've found. --Lonesome Pinky 23:43, 25 January 2007 (CST)
Found another one: Colossus. --Lonesome Pinky 21:06, 29 January 2007 (CST)
Thanks for putting in the placeholder. --Lonesome Pinky 21:06, 29 January 2007 (CST)
Hi Pete. It appears that one of the changes which you made today to the team templates are causing them not to stack properly. At least, that's what's happening from my perspective. The left division is too wide to appear opposite the right division and so it is being placed below the right division. (Strangely, I had noticed the same thing with Wolverine (James Howlett) a while ago. I don't know if that's related.) I haven't checked every single team, but so far the problem is 3 for 3. --Lonesome Pinky 18:53, 25 January 2007 (CST)
Hi Pete, I'm sure someone must have mentioned this before, but just in case they haven't... it is currently not possible to approve new redirects. No link for "approve this revision" appears when you create a new redirect page and then click on it in "Recent Changes". Consequently, whenever the date rolls around that all unapproved changes are expunged from "Recent Changes" (usually once a month), the new redirect page defaults back to "This page has been created, but not approved. Check back later." There is a workaround which I have been using, which is to edit the redirect page and change the case of the word "redirect" to either upper or lower, then click on the diff link in "Recent Changes". This gives access to the "approve this revision" link. As a workaround, this is effective, so I don't think that you need to waste time tracking down the bug or parameter that necessitates it. However, when I do odd Wiki maintenance stuff like this, my fellow editors sometimes mistake it for point-grubbing or incompetence, so it occurred to me that I should explain myself. Thanks, Lonesome Pinky 06:20, 30 January 2007 (CST)
Why Is it that I can't see the recent changes page? Is something wrong with it? --mimicx35 23:26, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
Hi pete. I was just wondering if uploading images is an issue for all users on the site right now or just some because I haven't been able to upload anything now for quite some time. If possible, could you please take a look into that when you have some time? Thank you. -- acotilletta
Hi again pete. First off, I'd like to thank you again for making it so we can upload images onto the website. I did have another question I wanted to ask, and I'm asking you because you're the director of the site. On the Marvel Universe Main Page where the slide show of random characters is, is there any way to rotate more characters into the mix? It always seems like the same characters are recycled, with a new one here and there thrown in, but Marvel has so many other diverse heroes and villains that could be chosen to be displayed there - even the second and third rate characters. I don't know how many people check it really, but I do from time to time, and truthfully, which is one of the reasons I'm asking, I enjoy seeing any of the profiles I have done up there with so many other great submissions. It's more of a curiosity question than anything else, but I just figured I'd ask. Thanks for your time. -- acotilletta
