White Noise was a member of the multi-species Imperial Guard, she accompanied her team members on a mission to rescue Deathbird from the Starjammers and Excalibur, after Deathbird's failed attempt to acquire the massive powers of the Phoenix Force for herself. Together with her brother Black Light she battled Captain Britain, by using her potent sonic scream to leave the valiant hero unconscious. However White Noise and her brother were taken out of the battle by Raza of the Starjammers, who used a stun gun to leave them unconscious. White Noise awoke in time to see Lilandra brutally beating on Deathbird. Black Light revealed that Deathbird was their mother and White Noise used her powers to free Deathbird. White Noise and the rest of the Imperial Guard retreated through a portal that led back to Shi'ar space. The portal was left open by Widget of Excalibur.
