A member of an unidentified, cold-blooded reptilian alien race, Xirdal was in protective custody since 1952 after her ship collided with the first US top-secret exploratory space probe, causing the death of everyone aboard. She believed humans were a threat to her race's existence and promised to wipe them out. However, she did not believe herself to be a murderer because she only killed in the defense of her offspring. After Norman Osborn was transferred to the classified detention center Xirdal was imprisoned a mysterious Goblin cult orchestrated his escape, and in doing so started a prison riot. Xirdal was one of five of the most dangerous criminals held in the penitentiary, but when she expressed how she wouldn’t follow an actual murderer into battle, Osborn tricked her into opening a hatch that flooded the compartment she stood in. Osborn locked her inside, leaving Xirdal to drown.
