Earth-2149 fell victim to a virus that transformed many superhuman including Deadpool, into flesh-eating zombie-like creatures that retained their intelligences. Although, most zombies were destroyed, a few survived, and sought new worlds to feed upon. Earth-616 was one of the worlds that they located, the zombie Deadpool was sent there through the Nexus of Realities, where he created a trap to lure the local super team the Command, but his body was destroyed when he was knocked into a swamp boat's roaring fan. The head survived the gruesome incident and it was taken to Hollow, ARMOR's headquarters, where it convinced the Zombie (Simon Garth) to help it to escape. No longer feeling the hunger due to losing his body, Deadpool accompanied Garth and Black Talon (Samuel Barone)'s Taino island base en route zombifying a female Piranha and various Men-Fish. As Morbius' Midnight Sons tracked Deadpool, Black Talon offered the Hood (Parker Robbins) Deadpool as a weapon.
