After killing Queen Veranke to end the Skrull invasion, criminal tycoon Iron Patriot was given command of America’s superhuman infrastructure; reorganizing the compromised S.H.E.I.L.D. into HAMMER, he formed his own Avengers team to replace the team led the disgraced Iron Man (Tony Stark).
