The Godseye weapon was a threat to any nation possessing nuclear weaponry, but it eventually became a menace to the entire planet when its intelligence surpassed what was initially intended. S.H.I.E.L.D. had been trying to destroy the rogue space station for years, but the Godseye would simply neutralize and assimilate any weapon thrown at it. Finally, Nick Fury came up with what he thought was a foolproof plan to destroy the Godseye. He sent the Hulk into space to demolish the Godseye, thinking there would be nothing for the weapon to assimilate.
The Hulk agreed to help under false pretenses, having been told the weapon belonged to Hydra, but once there he discovered the truth. The Hulk suffered a temporary setback during the initial attack and was brought, defeated, onto the space station where he awoke as his alter-ego, Bruce Banner. The Godseye created a humanoid form to greet him but only to see if it could incorporate both Banner and the Hulk into its makeup. The Godseye had no trouble digesting the gamma radiation inside the Hulk, but it could not exert the control over it as Banner had done over the years. The Godseye eventually absorbed too much energy and destroyed itself in a massive explosion. When Fury sent a shuttle to retrieve the Hulk, it was merely a trick to send him far away from Earth, and Banner eventually landed on the hostile planet of Sakaar.Main Page | Recent changes | Random page | Help | What links here | Related changes | Upload file | Special pages | Printable version |
