After an internal schism between Cyclops and Wolverine the two X-Men teams split into two factions. Those who sided with Cyclops stayed on Utopia while those who sided with Wolverine came back to their old home in upstate New York. It was here that Wolverine and Beast built the state of this state of the art Mansion in order to educate and protect the younger generation of mutants following the doctrine of Professor Charles Xavier.
