A while later Marlo and Betty met a women claiming to be the mother of [[Jones, Rick|Rick Jones]], Marlo quickly developed feelings for Rick. and she later learned that the woman was a farce, who had been drugging Rick and holding hostage within her basement. The lady killed Marlo to prevent from being caught. Rick approached [[Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)|Doctor Strange]], [[Mister Fantastic|Reed Richards]] of the the [[Fantastic Four]], anyone who might have the technology to bring Marlo back. When he confronted Hulk's arch-foe, Samuel Sterns also known as the [[Leader (Samuel Sterns)|Leader]] who revealed that he could save her, although it was detected by [[Doc Samson]] that Stern's methods left her in a comatose state. She eventually woke up, Rick proposed to her, and the two were soon married.
