Created by Chthon, the master N'Garai demon Kierrok and his N'Garai kind once ruled mankind and wish to rule it once more. Kierrok was released onto the Earth by the X-Man Cyclops, who while mourning for John Proudstar, eye-beamed an ancient obelisk known as the Cairn, which triggered Kierrok's release. Damaging the X-Mansion while fighting off the newly reformed X-men, it seemed as if Kierrok was going to win, even defeating Xavier after a mind-probe overwhelmed his psyche. However, Storm was able to find the Cairn and destroy it, sealing Kierrok in his dimension, seemingly forever.
