Lyra was ambushed by Morass and her teammates, Axon and Aberration, and was captured before she could fully assess the situation. To make matters worse, Lyra's partner was killed in front of her eyes, enraging the jade giantess, triggering her weakness. Morass was able to hold Lyra with her clay-like tentacles indefinitely, until Lyra activated her Autotrance. Lyra escaped the grasp of Morass and fled her enemies after crushing them with their own ship.

Morass separated from the group to find her, but when she did, Lyra proved to be more than a match for her in fighting skill. Fortunately for Morass, she received the ability to reconstitute her injured form by using the ground beneath her feet. Unfortunately for Morass, Lyra lured her into a salt flat, causing Morass to dry up and become like a statue. Morass’ broken body was found near the damaged craft with a death threat carved in her torso.
