To begin the second round of the tournament in the Heart of Heaven, the Prince of Orphans was to test his skills against Fat Cobra. However, the Prince chose to challenge Davos because of his unmitigated brutality unleashed against Tiger’s Beautiful Daughter in the last match of round one. Fat Cobra gladly stepped aside and Davos eagerly accepted. Unfortunately for Davos, the Prince of Orphans is a far superior fighter and completely decimated him in front of the watching audience. The Prince went so far as to issue a warning to Davos and the others present stating that the tournament is a test of skills and not a place to enact murder. That night, at the dinner ceremonies, the Prince of Orphans decided to sit alone and ignore the invitation of Dog Brother #1 and Iron Fist to join them at their table. Later still, the Prince visited Iron Fist in his room and identified himself as John Aman, an ally of Orson Randall and Lei Kung, the Thunderer.

Before the Prince of Orphans befriended Randall, he hunted him down by order of their former masters to reclaim stolen property – namely the seven coins belonging to the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven. Aman first collided with Randall and his group, the Confederates of the Curious, inside the establishment known as the 53rd Card, but was met with disappointment as the group escaped his grasp. He had a second chance to procure the coins a short while later, but a brave maneuver by a young boy named Wendell Rand saved Orson's life and kept the coins from falling into the Prince’s hands. Some time later, in a western town, John Aman recruited the aid of a group of female cowgirls to force Orson Randall into showing his face again. These Cowgirls from Hell captured one of Randall's group, and Orson and his friends came to the rescue. Ultimately, during the shootout, Aman seriously injured one of the Confederates, but claimed his intentions were not evil and proved himself by allowing Randall to heal the man. The Prince of Orphans took his leave but left a warning that any who battled by Randall's side from that day forward would be considered an enemy. Randall broke the group up, and only he and Wendell traveled together afterwards.

Time passed, but the Prince of Orphans did not give up his pursuit of Randall and the coins. The next time he found Orson was during a visit to the castle of Doctor Frankenstein. Wendell had been shot and needed emergency surgery, and Orson went to a man he thought was an ally. The castle was now inhabited a boy who claimed to be the son of Frankenstein, and he agreed to save Rand's life. However, the boy was more treacherous than Orson gave him credit for. Frankenstein ordered his monster to attack Randall, and before he knew what happened, Randall was on the operating table next to his ward. When the boy surgeon was questioned about his motives, he revealed that he was actually the true Victor Von Frankenstein, and he had implanted his brain into the body of his useless son! Now he wanted a new, able body like Orson's, but before he could begin his gruesome operation, John Aman entered Frankenstein’s body in his green mist form and killed him from within. Then Aman and Randall saved the life of Wendell as the now docile monster looked on. Aman, to answer Orson's curiousity as to how the Prince of Orphans found them, explained that the coins leave a certain vibrating trail that he follows, and that is how he tracks his quarry, but he also made Randall a proposition. Aman now had the coins, and the Prince of Orphans also wanted to take Wendell Rand from Orson too – not for evil purposes, but to heal him and ensure Orson stays alone forever. Randall agreed but told Aman to question how the coins got out of the cities, not just to follow orders blindly, and hunt down those answers just as he hard as he hunted Randall.

The years went on, and the next time the Prince of Orphans contacted Randall was at a time Randall's father was terminally ill. Randall went to his friends the Contessa and Lucky Pierre for help. The two did some investigating and found that Aman was working with Hydra and was setting a trap for Orson. Nevertheless, Orson went to see his father, but Aman was waiting for him instead. He told Randall to go with his men to his jungle kingdom in Z'Gambo and that is where his father would be. Orson complied and soon he was in Africa and at his father’s side. Randall was ready for a fight, but Aman told him this was not an act of wickedness, but it only seemed that way because of their past experiences. Aman hunted down the answers to the question Orson presented to him, but he needed the information in Orson’s father’s head to complete the puzzle. Randall and Aman spoke with the dying man, and he told them of the man-made dimensional doorways between each of the cities and the Earth which allowed the citizens to travel back and forth as they wished without being held to the constraints of the arcane clockwork of the Heavens - only traveling to Earth when a city entered the Earth's plane of existence every decade or so. In exchange, all of Randall’s father’s work had been fully funded. In that instant, the Prince of Orphans knew he had been lied to, and he knew someone would pay for it. Randall gave him the symbol of Lei Kung, the Thunderer and told Aman to seek him out. He told Aman to wear the mark somewhere on his person, and when the time came, to find his successor. Aman and Randall parted as uneasy allies, but now their cause was one in the same.

Now, present time in K'un-Lun as a revolution was about to begin, John Aman approached the other Immortal Weapons of the tournament between the capital cities of Heaven and asked them to join his cause. All except for Davos, agreed to help once they found out their worlds were in danger as well. The Immortal Weapons stood by Danny Rand's side as they confronted the terrorist organization known as Hydra. The battle was fierce but Hydra was defeated, and Aman and the other Immortal Weapons of the Seven Capital Cities decided to stay on Earth and investigate claims of an eighth city. Aman was working peacefully with the other Immortal Weapons out of Rand, Inc., but when an assassin threatened Danny's life, Aman willingly put his own priorities aside to help his friend. Zhou Cheng, also known as the one who kills the Iron Fist, turned out to be a benefit in disguise for it was in his apartment that Aman found a map to lead them to The Eighth City. Rand led Aman, and the other Immortal Weapons, to the gateway leading to the city. Upon entering the portal, Aman, despite his formidable powers, was captured along with the rest. He was kept in a weakened state for days until he and the other Weapons devised a way to break out of this prison. Aman and the others eventually made it back to Earth after a hard fought battle against the ruler of The Eighth City, Quan Yaozu, and his army.
