Pryde, Kitty (House of M)

Katherine "Kitty" Pryde was a 13-year-old girl whose genius level intellect would have allowed her to take college level courses at a young age. Instead, her parents opted to keep her with her friends so she would be better adjusted. This turned out to be to her advantage because she spent much of fourteenth year battling headaches caused by her mutation, which had turned her intangible. After months of mutant counseling, and finally gaining control of her powers, Kitty returned to classes.

Finishing as Valedictorian of her senior class, Pryde scored off the charts on all her college entrance exams. She was approached to join S.H.I.E.L.D. on her eighteenth birthday by Sebastian Shaw, but she turned the opportunity down. She instead chose to enter college and become a teacher. She currently teaches sixth grade at Clinton Elementary School in Cincinnati, OH.
