Punisher (Marvel Knights 2099)

Cossandra Castle was the daughter of Frank Castle and Elektra Natchios in the year 2099, but due to her father’s notoriety she was forced to use her mother’s name instead, though she continued to carry on her father’s work as the Punisher.

When she discovered that she was dying of cancer she decided to induct her son Franklin into the family’s work. She brought him home after basketball practice and sat him down to pass down the story of the tragic loss of his grandfather’s family and the succeeding life he dedicated to punishment of the guilty, even though she felt that Franklin was too young to begin, yet. However, despite months of training in weapons and explosives, and being chased by Sentinels, Franklin came to the conclusion that he was unable to kill another human being. Disappointed, Cossandra continued to try and train him, but Franklin realized her time was running out when, during a lesson to teach him how to pick a target in a group of people, Cossandra began to uncontrollably cough up blood.

Not too long after, Franklin arrived home to find his mother passed away in her bed. And even though he knew that he was meant to carry on the mantle of the Punisher after her death, he felt that he was unable to be a killer, and so ended the family lineage with Cossandra Castle, the Punisher.
