bio_text= Young Quentin Quire was one of the top students at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, having been inspired by Professor Charles Xavier's dream of human/mutant brotherhood when he was 13 years old. Among his achievements, Quentin created a set of anti-gravity floats to grant mobility to the disembodied brain of his fellow student Martha Johansson. Devastated after learning that he was adopted, Quentin was pushed over the edge following the death of renowned mutant fashion designer Jumbo Carnation, supposedly at the hands of humans. He began to doubt Xavier's teachings, and developed a more negative and hostile view of the world and of humankind.

Quentin became addicted to the new designer drug "Kick," which increased superhuman mutant powers but also altered the brain's metabolism. Quentin assembled a group of others that shared his beliefs about humans, calling them the Omega Gang, and set about attacking both innocent humans and members of the mutant-harvesting U-Men group alike. Creating a helmet patterned after that worn by Magneto which prevented the use of telepathic powers, Quentin and the Omega Gang captured Xavier during an Open Day at the Institute and fomented a student riot. While the X-Men easily defeated the Omega Gang, the identical telepathic quintet named the Stepford Cuckoos sought to oppose Quentin. One of the Cuckoos, Sophie, whom Quentin was besotted with (much to her chagrin), empowered her sisters by taking a dose of "Kick" and utilizing the X-Men's mutant-locating device Cerebra to magnify their telepathic powers to a level higher than Quentin's. Defeating him, the strain seemingly proved too much for Sophie and she died.

Due to his abuse of "Kick," Quentin underwent a secondary mutation that caused his physical form to discorporate, leaving him a disembodied mind trapped in a containment unit. Later, when the cosmic avatar known as the Phoenix Force returned to Earth, its presence influenced Quentin to reconstitute himself. Creating a new physical form, he sought out his beloved Sophie. Remembering her death, Quentin exhumed her corpse and sought out the Phoenix Force to help resurrect her. The X-Men were able to trap the Force, but Quentin sought to free it and opposed the X-Men. During the clash, the Force was freed and it granted Quentin's wish, resurrecting Sophie. However, upon seeing Quentin, a disgusted Sophie chose instead to return to death. The Force ultimately merged with Jean and left, after which the heartbroken Quentin returned to his disembodied state.

bio_text= Virtually nothing was known about the past of the woman called the Native save that she was used as a test subject, code-named Feral, by scientists in the clandestine genetic research organization Weapon X, possibly at the same time that the mutant adventurer Wolverine was implanted with the metal Adamantium. At some point she escaped her captors and lived alone for years in the mountains of British Columbia in Canada, spending some of that time sharing a cabin with fellow escapee Wolverine.

Recently, an offshoot of the Weapon X Program hired the savage mutant Sabretooth, himself a former Weapon X experiment, to retrieve the Native. Sabretooth tracked her down, only for her to outfight him and flee. Sabretooth then manipulated Wolverine into finding her, after which she shared a romantic interlude with him. The Native showed Wolverine drawings that hinted at their past together, however Wolverine could not recall any of it. His attempts at communication were interrupted by soldiers from the Weapon X offshoot who immobilized him and capturing the Native, whom they brought to The Workshop facility in Montana. Sabretooth, having learned that his employers had intended to double-cross him, chose to help Wolverine in freeing the Native in order to avenge himself on his employers.

While in captivity, the Native was operated on by Doctor Vapor, who removed genetic material from her to be sold to other parties and discovered that the Native’s accelerated physiology had resulted in a pregnancy from her liaison with Wolverine. Arriving at The Workshop, Wolverine confronted Vapor whilst Sabretooth went to slay his employers. The Native killed Vapor and left with Wolverine, however the pair were watched by Sabretooth who promised to finish what he started. Tracking the couple, Sabretooth defeated Wolverine and subsequently killed the Native.

bio_text= Little is known about the life of the man known only as Roughouse except that he is apparently a descendant of the race of rock trolls native to the extradimensional realm of Asgard, home of the Gods of Norse mythology. As a child, he was beaten by his abusive father, which drove him to become bigger, stronger, and angrier.

In recent years, Roughouse found employment alongside the pseudo-vampire Bloodscream as an enforcer for the crimelord General Coy on the island nation of Madripoor. Coy ordered the pair to destroy the organization of his rival, Tyger Tiger, which led to several clashes with Tiger’s ally, the mutant adventurer Wolverine. After several defeats, Roughouse was sold to Geist, a former Nazi scientist who had been hired by President Felix Caridad of the Central American republic Tierra Verde to create a superhuman operative. Geist used Roughouse as a test subject for an experimental batch of cocaine that had been tainted by the essence of a living disease called Spore.

Upon his arrival in Tierra Verde, Roughouse was treated for side effects of the drug by Caridad’s ex-wife, the healer named Sister Salvation. Her touch also calmed Roughouse’s buried rage, giving him a sense of inner peace. When Wolverine arrived in the country, he was drawn into a revolution led by a young mutant named La Bandera. Together, the pair freed Roughouse and Salvation and Roughouse subsequently saved Salvation’s son Palo from being subjected to the experimental cocaine, resulting in Caridad himself becoming injected and being consumed by Spore. The creature was ultimately destroyed by Salvation’s touch, and, grateful for her aid, Roughouse chose to remain with her.

Many months later, Roughouse was contacted by the South American crimelord named the Black Tarantula and pressed into his service as an enforcer once more. Roughouse saved his former partner Bloodscream after a near-fatal encounter with Wolverine, and the pair were sent on missions for the Tarantula that brought them into conflict with Wolverine and the costumed crimefighter Spider-Man.
