| powers = Wolverine is a mutant who possesses the ability to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage Wolverine suffers. For example, he can fully recover from an ordinary gunshot wound in a non-vital area of his body within minutes, but it took him almost two months to fully recover from injuries sustained in a duel with Lord Shingen, which included one from a sword that went all the way through his trunk.

Wolverine’s natural healing also affords him virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases. For example, it is nearly impossible for him to become intoxicated from drinking alcohol. He also has a limited immunity to the fatigue poisons generated by bodily activity, and hence he has greater endurance than an ordinary human. His agility and reflexes are similarly enhanced.

In addition, Wolverine’s healing factor provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Although over a century old, Wolverine is as healthy and physically fit as a man in his prime.

Wolverine also possesses superhumanly acute senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than a normal human’s. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Wolverine can use these enhanced senses to track any creature with an impressive degree of success.

Wolverine’s skeleton includes six retractable one-foot long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his healing factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws shoot from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are fully within his hands, and thus Wolverine can still bend his wrists. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than that of normal human bone structure, allowing Wolverine to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials.

Despite the extent of his healing factor, Wolverine is not immortal. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form, such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid, Wolverine can die.

bio_text= Born the second son of wealthy landowners John and Elizabeth Howlett in Alberta, Canada during the late 19th Century, James Howlett was a frail boy of poor health. James was largely neglected by his mother, who was institutionalized for a time following the death of her first son, John Jr., in 1897. He spent most of his early years on the estate grounds and had two playmates that lived on the Howlett estate with him: Rose, a red-headed girl who was brought in from town to be a companion to young James, and a boy nicknamed "Dog" who was the son of the groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. Thomas Logan was an alcoholic and was extremely abusive to his son. The children were close friends but as they reached young adulthood, the abuse inflicted upon Dog warped his mind. His actions would lead to a tragic chain of events. that started as the three neared their adolescent years when Dog made unwanted advances toward Rose and James reported it to his father. In retaliation Dog killed James's pet dog. This in turn resulted in the expulsion of Thomas Logan and Dog Logan from the estate.

[[Image:1Wolverine-first-claws.jpg|left|thumb]]Thomas Logan, in a drunken stupor, invaded the Howlett estate with his son and attempted to take Elizabeth Howlett (implied to be his former lover) with him. John attempted to stop him and Thomas Logan shot him down in cold blood. James Howlett had just entered the room when this occurred and for the first time his mutation manifested; his claws extended from the backs of his hands and he attacked the intruders with uncharacteristic ferocity, killing Thomas Logan, and scarring Dog's face with three claw marks. Elizabeth Howlett, who was already an emotionally disturbed woman, took her life immediately afterward with a blast from Thomas's gun. Fearing for their safety, Rose fled the estate with James, who appeared to have been deeply traumatized and had somehow repressed or forgotten most of the memories of life back at the estate. Dog falsely reported to the police and James's grandfather that Rose had murdered John Howlett II and Thomas Logan. The eldest Howlett, shunned James and with no family left, took Dog in as his ward. However, Dog was already a burgeoning psychopath and it was too late for his character to evolve down any other path.

In the years that followed, James and Rose took refuge in a British Colombia mining colony under the guise of being cousins. James also assumed the name of "Logan" in order to hide his identity. As the hard work of mining toughened his body, and his mutant powers developed, he grew to be unusually strong and ferocious. He was immune to the elements and even ran with the wolves in the forest, learning to hunt as an animal hunts. "Logan" became a valuable and admirable figure amongst the small community of miners due to his hard work and strong ethics, earning him the respect of his peers, including the foreman Smitty, who became a surrogate father figure to James. During this period, James developed strong feelings for Rose, but could not act on them for the sake of their guise as cousins. Smitty, who had been mentoring James all these years, had also grown close to Rose, and the two eventually fell in love and became engaged, much to the scorn and surprise of James, who later accepted the situation for the sake of Rose's happiness. Meanwhile, the elder John Howlett was in failing health and asked Dog to find Rose and his grandson so he could make peace with them before he died. Dog agreed. However, Dog (who has become a physically formidable man himself) decides to track them down so he can kill James.

[[image: wolverine02.jpg|left|200px|thumb]]Dog hunted James and Rose down so easily that it seemed he had a preternatural skill for tracking. On then night that Smitty was due to leave the mining town with Rose, Dog (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Logan's future nemesis, Sabretooth) finally found and confronted James. Dog reminded James of his past, and that faithful night back on the estate that had changed all their lives so. The two fiercely fought in the middle of the street and despite being the physically stronger of the two Dog was eventually overpowered by the enraged James. As Dog laid unconscious, James unsheathed his claws for the first time in public, to the shock of everyone watching, and was about to deal the deathblow until Rose leapt in to stop him but was accidentally was impaled by his claws. Horrified, "Logan" held her in his arms as she died. He then fled into the woods where he lived in self-imposed exile with a pack of wolves, presumably for many years.

Logan possesses memories of being a Samurai in Japan, a mercenary operative for the Central Intelligence Agency, and a "wild man" in the Canadian wilderness. Due to extensive memory implants given to Logan through the Weapon X program, any or all of these memories are suspect. Logan has at least one memory of meeting Captain America (Steve Rogers) in World War II while he was in the Canadian Army which has been verified as true. Sometime after World War II, Logan was taken by a group of scientists led by Dr. Cornelius as part of the Weapon X program. Cornelius was hired to perfect and use a technique that would bond the indestructible element adamantium to human bone cells. Logan's skeleton was bonded to the adamantium, and he was indoctrinated into the Weapon X assassin program.

[[Image: wolverine03.jpg|left|200px|thumb]] Wolverine was conscripted by Department H, and for his first mission was sent against the incredible Hulk. Wolverine was subsequently approached by Professor Charles Xavier, who was looking for mutants to help his students, the X-Men, escape from the island-being known as Krakoa, which had captured them. Wolverine left Alpha Flight to accompany Xavier and rescue the captured X-Men. After Krakoa was defeated, Wolverine decided to stay with the X-Men, for reasons which included that he had fallen for Marvel Girl (Jean Grey). Logan remained with the X-Men for quite some time, at one time being their field commander, and encountered adversaries such as Proteus (Kevin MacTaggart), Magneto (Magnus), the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Brood, the Reavers, demons from the dimension of Limbo, the Marauders, the Morlocks, and even Dracula on one occasion.

After his encounter with the mutant assassin Omega Red, Logan began to question the memories he possessed, but his searches to find his true identity and memories proved fruitless. During an encounter with the mutant Magneto on his space station called Avalon, Wolverine slashed Magneto with his claws. Magneto retaliated, using his powers of the magnetic field to tear the adamantium out of Wolverine's skeleton, causing extensive injuries. These injuries shorted out Wolverine's healing factor for a time, and Logan also discovered that the claws that he believed a result of the Weapon X project were in fact part of his actual bone structure due to his mutation. These bone claws became Wolverine's main weapons until his skeleton later became grafted to adamantium again.

As a result of his injuries, Logan left the X-Men for a time. He visited Muir Island at the request of Kitty Pryde, and was also attacked by Cyber. During the Phalanx invasion, Logan and Cable were asked by Charles Xavier to find and rescue the captured X-Men. They joined with Cyclops (Scott Summers) and Jean Grey returning from their honeymoon (and secretly the future) and freed their teammates in Tibet. Later, Logan was kidnapped by Tyler Dayspring, calling himself Genesis, who wanted to make Wolverine one of his new Horsemen. Genesis had acquired adamantium by destroying the body of the mercenary known as Cyber, and had planned to recreate the bonding process used on Logan years ago. This time, however, Logan's body rejected the adamantium, and he regressed for a time to a feral-like state.

Logan regained his lucidity and rejoined the X-Men. Logan was subsequently kidnapped by the would-be conqueror Apocalypse (En Sabah Nur) and forced to fight the savage assassin Sabretooth for the mantle of the Horseman Death. Knowing that he might be able to resist Apocalypse's programming and that Sabretooth would be a very dangerous villain with the support of Apocalypse, Logan fought and defeated his nemesis. As a result, his skeleton again was laced with Adamantium. Under the control of Apocalypse, Wolverine fought the X-Men ferociously in his Death persona. But with the help of his teammates, he eventually broke free from Apocalypse's control.

While on the Weapon Plus satellite, Logan was able to access detailed files on his past. However, it was a trap, and only Jean's manifestation of the Phoenix was able to save them. Wolverine greatly mourns Jean's loss, was not pleased with Cyclops and Emma Frost's relationship, but has remained a valued member of the X-Men, serving on as many missions as he can while also doing solo operations.

Transformed into a killing machine and outfitted with several devices, he battled various other heroes and killed both Hornet and Northstar. S.H.I.E.L.D. was eventually able to deprogram Logan, and he was sent to oppose Northstar, who also had been resurrected by Hydra. While on a mission in the Savage Land, he met the recently reformed Avengers and eventually accepted membership.

Recently, Wolverine unnerved many high level officials, including those of S.H.I.E.L.D., by his sporadic movements in and out of the grid, with the tensions mounting in what seemed to be Wolverine's attempted assassination of the prime minister of Japan. Eventually it was revealed that Wolverine's true target was not the prime minister, but his bodyguard, the Silver Samurai. During an interrogation that began during their battle, and ended shortly after Logan severed the samurai's arm, Wolverine received some more information that led him back to Department H. Despite what he had originally thought, it was not the carelessness of his captors that allowed him to escape; rather, the Winter Soldier seemingly interfered with the operation in such a way that allowed Logan's escape. Wolverine tracked down the Winter Soldier in Serbia for information, but was rendered unconscious after a struggle after which the Winter Soldier revealed that he had earlier murdered Logan's pregnant wife.

place_text= In this reality, with some exceptions, Earth was all but devoid of heroes until very late in the 20th Century. At this time, a sudden upsurge in accidentally, and sometimes purposefully, powered individuals drove the public into an increased state of paranoia and anxiety. Due to an increase in mutant activity which fueled the hysteria, most of the super powered beings were mislabeled mutants and treated with the same distrust as what, to most people, seemed like genetic aberrations.

[[Fury, Nick (Ultimate)|Nick Fury]], a member of the government group [[S.H.I.E.L.D. (Ultimate)|S.H.I.E.L.D.]], has become responsible for any "unauthorized genetic mutations" that are above the age of 18. These beings have been organized into the state-sponsored [[Ultimates (Ultimate)|Ultimates]] team in the United States and similar teams in Europe. Powered individuals that do not join these teams can potentially be treated as a criminal, although some masked vigilantes such as [[Daredevil (Ultimate)|Daredevil]] seem to operate under the radar of the government. Additionally, mutants have not been coerced into service under this same schema.

Unlike the 616 [[Marvel Universe]], the Earth of this universe has had very little contact with extraterrestrial forces. The only definitive contacts have been with the Kree race, via their defector, [[Mahr Vel (Ultimate)|Mahr Vel]], the android [[Vision (Ultimate)|Vision]], who warned of an ancient robotic entity known as [[Gah Lak Tus (Ultimate)|Gah Lak Tus]], and the [[Cithara (Ultimate)|Cithara]], a shape-changing race which has attempted to conquer and destroy the earth at least twice. While the super hero team, the [[Fantastic Four (Ultimate)|Fantastic Four]], has discovered a older, decaying universe bordering their own known as the N-Zone, Earth-1610 has generally been untouched by extra-universal contact.

It remains to be seen whether the inner forces of the infant Age of Heroes in this universe will be as welcome a boon as it has so far been on Earth-616, or an abhorrent plague that humanity will eventually rid itself of.

bio_text= Little had been revealed about the high-flying Dinah Soar before she first made her way onto the crime fighting scene with her fellow [[Great Lakes Avengers]] except for the small detail only team leader, [[Mister Immortal]], was able to hear her. In fact, the two had a romantic relationship which is probably one reason why she had a calming effect on him when he went into one of his uncontrollable rages. As all of the other [[Great Lakes Avengers]], Dinah Soar had not been taken seriously by the rest of the superhuman community that were aware of her existence, but her aerial acrobatics were nothing to scoff at. She had fought side by side with her teammates against such foes as [[Deadpool]], the [[Thunderbolts]], and [[Graviton]], but it was only during the battle against [[Maelstrom]] that her concern for her injured lover led her to be distracted long enough for Maelstrom to deliver a killing blow. Despite the protests of Mr. Immortal, there was little he could do to save the life of this super heroine whose life was cut way too short.

Even his heralds, imbued with the smallest fraction of his power, can manipulate matter and energy far beyond human comprehension. Though he generally avoids physical conflict, Galactus can bolster his own strength beyond any known system of measure. Galactus is telepathic, able to scan the thoughts of virtually any known being.

To sustain his immense power, Galactus requires energies derived from a biosphere, a planet able to sustain living beings, though life does not actually have to be present. Though Galactus can extract and absorb this energy himself, he generally employs his immense Elemental Converter to perform the process, as it is far more efficient and avoids the expenditure required of him. Sometimes the planets on which he feeds are left barely habitable; other times he consumes all life and water, leaving it devastated and barren; most often the process reduces the planet to space rubble. When Galactus was newly formed, the energy of a medium-size Earth-like planet sustained him for over a century. Now he needs to feed about once a month; in addition, when preparing for a massive expenditure of energy, he may absorb planets more frequently to amplify his power stores. Conversely, when he does not feed within his allotted time, his energies will dwindle, and he will even begin to physically shrink as they drop dangerously low. His body totally converts the energies he absorbs for his life functions and activities without any waste products.

Though seemingly destroyed on several occasions, Galactus is always restored to full power eventually. In addition, despite being a physical being, Galactus can adopt a manifestation (M-Body) from the Dimension of Manifestations in order to commune with abstract beings, such as Death and Eternity.

Untold billions of years ago, he was born the humanoid Galan on the planet [[Taa]], a wondrous paradise of scientific and social achievement; however, his universe was in its final stages, with all matter plunging towards a central point via the "Big Crunch", collapsing into a new "[[Cosmic Egg]]", a sphere of disorganized, compact primordial matter. Galan, a space explorer, discovered a radiation-plague threatening all of Taa. Though he was initially scoffed at, the truth became clear as the people of surrounding planets perished. Despite the efforts of Taa's greatest scientists, no cure could be found, and the population began to die off. Galan convinced the handful of remaining survivors to die gloriously by flying a starship into the blazing cosmic cauldron. The others were killed by the intense radiation, but Galan was filled with new energy and saved by the [[Phoenix Force]] of the dying universe. The sentient energy spoke to Galan as it brought him into the Egg.

=== Rebirth ===
With the next Big Bang, the Cosmic Egg matter exploded outwards, eventually condensing into stars and planets. The future Galactus and his starship were re-created simultaneously with the embodiments of [[Eternity]] and [[Death (embodiment)|Death]], though he drifted inert for billions of years while new life began to populate the universe. The starship crashed on an unnamed planet, where [[Ecce The Watcher]] saw its occupant emerge as raw energy. Ecce recognized the danger the nascent being would pose and could have destroyed him then, but instead abides by his oath of non-interference. Launching his ship back into space, the being ejected its lifeless companions into the void, there to drift in endless flight. He then created a suit of armor to harness and regulate his awesome energies, and transformed his ship into an incubation chamber, where he spent countless centuries evolving into his current form. Eventually his craft again fell into orbit around a verdant planet, [[Archeopia]]. The advanced natives scanned the craft, detected its awesome energies, and wisely left it undisturbed.

=== The Giant Awakens ===
Years later, when interstellar war spread into that space sector, the Archeopians' unidentified enemies mistook the incubation craft for a weapon and fired upon it. Emerging unscathed, the being who adopted the name Galactus swiftly slaughtered invader and defender alike, then consumed the life-energies of Archeopia, the first of many worlds that would perish for his hunger; only a small fleet of Archeopians managed to escape. Surveying the destruction he had wrought, Galactus decided to create a world to outshine any other in existence. Though it took millennia, including breaks to replenish his energies, Galactus completed ''Taa II'', an immense ship engulfing the entire Archeopian system, which he made his new home.

=== The Hunger Grows ===
Galactus initially went centuries between feedings, seeking out uninhabited worlds that could support life; but he gradually hungered more frequently, and began consuming inhabited worlds if he could find no others. He rationalized his actions by deeming himself a higher being, a belief made easier after learning of a prophecy that he would eventually compensate for all his destruction. In addition, he eventually encountered Eternity and Death, and the three beings hypothesized that Galactus represented a balancing force between the two opposites.

=== Companionship ===
Lonely, Galactus created a being in his own image; however, while Galactus was content to survive, his creation craved conquest. The creation, becoming known as [[Tyrant]], battled his creator in a struggle beyond description. Galactus eventually triumphed, possibly aided by the Spinsterhood order of women warriors, banishing Tyrant to parts unknown. Since then, Galactus has used many mindless servants, chief among which are the [[Punisher (robot)|Punishers]], possibly living beings enslaved or created by Galactus. Eventually, the world-devourer realized it was more efficient to send a herald to seek out worlds for him. His first herald was eventually cast out and imprisoned, presumably due to its corrupt and violent nature. This former herald, the [[Fallen One (unrevealed)|Fallen One]], escaped many times over the millennia, each time heading directly after its previous master, who always defeated it.

=== Rise of the Silver Surfer ===

Galactus threatened to devour the planet [[Zenn-La]], but was persuaded by native Norrin Radd to spare it in exchange for becoming a new herald. Galactus transformed Radd into the [[Silver Surfer]], suppressing his morals so that he would lead Galactus to inhabited worlds when necessary, such as the planet of the symbiotes and the [[Kree]] planet [[Tarsis]]. The Surfer once even led Galactus into ending the threat of the murderous warlord [[Kallreich the Unconquerable]] by consuming a world he had invaded. When the Silver Surfer brought Galactus to Earth, despite the efforts of [[Uatu The Watcher]] to hide the planet, [[Masters, Alicia|Alicia Masters]] reached Norrin's long-submerged emotions, convincing him to turn against his master. Galactus had easily overpowered the [[Fantastic Four]], but the Surfer's power delayed Galactus' meal long enough for [[Mister Fantastic|Reed Richards]] to present him with his first defeat. Uatu sent the [[Human Torch (Johnny Storm)|Human Torch]] to Galactus' worldship to retrieve the [[Ultimate Nullifier]], a device allegedly having the power to destroy even mighty Galactus; Reed used it to force him to spare Earth, but Galactus punished the Surfer for his betrayal by trapping him on Earth.

Soon after, Galactus sensed abundant energy sources within the enigmatic [[Black Galaxy]], but Galactus was distracted when [[Doctor Doom (Victor von Doom)|Dr. Doom]] usurped the Silver Surfer's power and crashed into Galactus' barrier; sensing this disturbance, Galactus scanned Doom, but found him beneath his notice and sent him back to [[Latveria]]. Galactus soon sent his Punisher to retrieve the Surfer from Earth; the Fantastic Four held it off long enough for the Surfer to escape into the [[Glossary:M#microverse|microverse]]. Galactus forced them to help him find the Surfer, who located an uninhabited planet for him, after which he left the Surfer trapped on Earth for easy future location.

=== New Heralds and Defeated Hunger ===
Consuming the world [[Taur]] to replenish his stores, Galactus journeyed into the Black Galaxy, where he encountered [[Ego|Ego The Living Planet]]. With the aid of [[Thor (Thor Odinson)|Thor]], recruited by the Colonizers of Rigel, Ego drove off Galactus; the surviving Archeopians made Ego their new home. Galactus was targeted by Dr. Doom, who used the reality-altering [[Cosmic Cube]] and other weapons to steal Galactus' power, but he retook the power with the aid of the Fantastic Four. Seeking a new herald, Galactus transformed Gabriel Lan, captain of the [[Xandar]]ian starship ''Way-Opener'', into the [[Air-Walker (Gabriel Lan)|Air-Walker]], but he was subsequently slain defending his master from the alien [[Ovoids]]. Galactus transferred Lan's life-spark into an Air-Walker robot and followed it to Earth, where it was destroyed by the Fantastic Four. Galactus then forced the Surfer to agree to follow him anywhere in the universe, but Reed Richards altered Galactus' ship controls, sending him into the [[Negative Zone]], beyond the scope of the Surfer's promise.

=== More Betrayal, More Strife ===
Returning to the Earth dimension, Galactus empowered Lan's former first officer Pyreus Kril as his new herald, [[Firelord (Pyreus Kril)|Firelord]]. He sent Kril to recruit Thor's aid against the now-maddened Ego, who had consumed the Archeopians. Thor freed Firelord from Galactus' servitude by offering the Asgardian [[Destroyer (construct)|Destroyer]] construct in his place. The Destroyer led Galactus to the [[High Evolutionary|High Evolutionary's]] [[Counter-Earth (High Evolutionary)|Counter-Earth]], and the Evolutionary summoned the Fantastic Four for aid. Though the heroes' efforts to find unpopulated worlds found only the robot-world [[Mekka]] and one of the [[Skrulls|Skrullian]] Kral worlds, the [[Impossible Man]] offered his own planet, [[Poppup]], whose people suffered from terminal boredom. Consuming Poppup, Galactus faded from existence due to cosmic indigestion. During Galactus' absence, his ship was invaded by the god [[Loki]], who stole the Destroyer, and also by the time-traveling [[Korvac]], who absorbed immense power and plotted to conquer the universe. Upon re-forming, Galactus realized what had happened and turned the Ultimate Nullifier against Korvac, who feigned death to escape. Reed Richards then summoned Galactus to Earth to defeat the power of the [[Sphinx (Anath-Na Mut)|Sphinx]]. In exchange, the Fantastic Four found a replacement herald; per Galactus' requirements, one not so concerned about innocent lives. From the planet [[Lanlak]], the Four recruited its lord, Tyros, whom Galactus transformed into [[Terrax]] the Tamer.

=== Double Crossed and Near Death ===
[[image: galactus02.jpg|left|200px|thumb]]However, Terrax proved disloyal; after locating a number of planets, Terrax tried to claim a new empire for himself. When Galactus tried to recall him, Terrax fled into a black hole. In response, Galactus' drone [[R-11]] recruited the [[Dazzler (Alison Blaire)|Dazzler]], who recovered Terrax after Galactus briefly imbued her with power cosmic. Resuming his duties, Terrax led the planet-eater to [[Galador]], where Galactus slew that world's [[Prime Director]] and the warrior [[Terminator]] before the Spaceknight ROM convinced Galactus to instead seek out [[Wraithworld]], the home of Galador's [[Dire Wraiths|Dire Wraith]] enemies. The magic of Wraithworld and its Dark Nebula proved too much for Galactus, but he nonetheless honored his agreement to spare Galador, though he transported it to a distant location unknown to the Spaceknights. Terrax next led Galactus back to Earth, hoping the Fantastic Four could again defeat him, but Galactus stripped Terrax of his power and cast him out. The Fantastic Four, [[Avengers]], and [[Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)|Dr. Strange]] defeated the exhausted Galactus, but as the world devourer lay dying, Reed organized efforts to save him. Galactus nonetheless needed to feed, but instead accepted the Human Torch Frankie Raye's offer to become his new herald, transforming her into [[Nova (Frankie Raye)|Nova]].

=== A Great Feast ===
Nova initially led Galactus to populated worlds, including Kehil, the surviving natives of which she later found a new home. When Galactus' life force had ebbed so low that he was visited by Death itself, Nova led him to feed on [[Tarnax IV]], the Skrull Throneworld, an act which threw the Skrull empire into chaos; a group of time-traveling [[X-Men]] narrowly escaped Tarnax IV in time. Shortly thereafter, Reed Richards was tried by an intergalactic group for his crime of saving Galactus, but was acquitted after Galactus himself appeared, and his ties to the life of the universe were revealed by Eternity; though the specific memory quickly faded from those present, the sense that Galactus had a specific purpose in the universe was retained.

=== Against All Odds ===
Soon after, Galactus was transported to the artificially created [[Battleworld]] by the [[Beyonder]] to serve in his "[[Secret Wars]]". Galactus instead attempted to devour Battleworld, but Dr. Doom briefly usurped his power once more. Shortly after revoking the Silver Surfer's exile on Earth, Galactus was assaulted by the [[Elders of the Universe]], who sought to destroy him and the universe, and be reborn in the next universe as Galactus had been. The Surfer and Nova helped Galactus defeat their plots, which included battles with Ego and the cosmic [[In-Betweener]], and a trip into a black hole, after which Galactus replenished himself on the populated world [[Naja-7]]. After assisting [[Power Pack]] in curing a maddened Nova, Galactus was drawn back to Earth by the power of the Phoenix Force, briefly battling its then-host, [[Marvel Girl (Rachel Summers)|Rachel Summers]], before acknowledging the Force as essential to the universe.

=== Drawn Into War ===
[[image: galactus04.jpg|left|200px|thumb]]Galactus was again summoned to Earth to defeat a deadly threat, the [[Consortium]], and was banished to the inter-dimensional world [[Quwrll]]. After his return, the Surfer warned Galactus of the mad Titan [[Thanos]], made virtually omnipotent by the [[Infinity Gems]]. Galactus scoffed at this threat until Thanos mocked him by eliminating a planet upon which Galactus had intended to feed. Ironically enough, Galactus was also taunted by the [[Deviants|Deviant]]-[[Inhumans|Inhuman]] hybrid [[Maelstrom]], who had acquired vast power as well, though he was soon destroyed by a black hole of his own making. After consuming another planet, Galactus joined a number of cosmic entities in opposing Thanos and then the space-pirate [[Nebula]] (who took the gems from Thanos), but even mighty Galactus was of little weight against the Infinity Gems. Galactus joined the other cosmic beings in deciding that the hero Adam Warlock was not worthy to hold the collective Gems, as well as investigating the threat of the cosmically powered [[Edifice Rex]], who sought to clean up the universe.

Shortly thereafter, Galactus, Nova, Dr. Strange, and the Surfer investigated the powerful energies harnessed by [[Warlock, Adam|Warlock's]] dark counterpart, the [[Magus (Adam Warlock)|Magus]]. In the process, he encountered the mystic entity [[Agamotto]] and the extra-dimensional exile, [[Khoon]] the Explorer. The Magus utilized five reality-altering Cosmic Containment Units, dwarfing Galactus' power; Galactus convinced the god-like [[Living Tribunal]] to allow the Infinity Gems to be used collectively again, playing directly into the hands of the Magus, who usurped the Gems and added them to his power. Galactus saved the lives of the heroes opposing the Magus, while Warlock facilitated the Magus' banishment to the realm within the Infinity Soul Gem.

=== Sympathy and Greed ===
Nova grew close to Galactus, even becoming privy to his emotions and private thoughts; but Galactus dismissed her when she resisted the idea of leading him to inhabited worlds. Galactus then empowered the blood-thirsty [[Morg]] as his new herald, but Morg's lust for power led past heralds to war against him. Nova apparently died at Morg's hands, and after the other heralds slew Morg, Galactus accepted both the Firelord and the restored Air-Walker android as heralds while he secretly resurrected Morg, this time keeping him more manageable; however, Morg was soon abducted by Galactus' old rival, Tyrant, who sought to challenge his creator again. Unwilling to risk battle with Tyrant at the time, Galactus reluctantly allowed Tyrant to retain Morg in exchange for a temporary truce. Morg later escaped and returned to Galactus, and only the Surfer saved the other two heralds from his wrath. When Tyrant confronted Galactus and managed to overpower him, Morg discharged the Ultimate Nullifier in an effort to stop Tyrant, but also apparently destroyed himself and Galactus.

Galactus survived by escaping extra-dimensionally and was later summoned by Reed to oppose the power of [[Hyperstorm]]; the two beings were drawn back to the dimensional void. Later, Galactus sent the Surfer after a power object, which proved to be an ancient demon. Galactus testified before Roma on the Fantastic Four's ability to safely watch over [[Richards, Franklin|Franklin Richards]], after which he consumed one of the [[Collector|Collector's]] specimen worlds, which had been unwittingly exposed to him by [[Wolverine (James Howlett)|Wolverine]]. Galactus next located an extra-dimensional gladiator whom he had been tracking for decades, transforming him into his herald, until he was liberated by the Fantastic Four.

=== Consumed by Hunger ===
Galactus' hunger grew greater than ever, driving him mad with desire to consume sentient life. Recruiting a new herald, [[Red Shift]], Galactus devoured world after world, including [[Verdant]], until a union of Earth's heroes and the armies of several races, including the [[Kree]] and [[Shi'ar]], mounted an offensive against him. Ultimately the Surfer turned Galactus' own ship against him, and it consumed his form, dispersing him into inert energy. One of Galactus' old enemies, [[Abraxas]], now left without anyone to hold him in check, threatened to destroy a number of realities, including [[Earth-616]] (mainstream Earth). Franklin Richards and Marvel Girl (the future [[Richards, Valeria|Valeria Richards]]) combined their reality-altering powers to re-form Galactus, who then directed the Ultimate Nullifier's destruction of Abraxas, restoring the universes.

After again opposing Thanos (then powered by the [[Heart of the Infinite]]), Galactus fell prey to a near-fatal deception. The extra-dimensional [[Hunger (extradimensional)|Hunger]], who consumed universes as Galactus consumed worlds, duped the planet-eater into believing that he could use the Infinity Gems to forever end his appetite; however, the device he constructed instead formed a portal that allowed Hunger entry into his universe. This time it was Thanos who saved all of existence, seemingly destroying Hunger. As a weakened Galactus recovered, the Fallen One again escaped and pursued him, but was defeated by Thanos and the diminutive powerhouse [[Skreet]]. During the event known as the [[Annihilation]], the world devourer was sought out by the remaining [[Proemial Gods]], [[Aegis (Lady of All Sorrows)|Aegis]] and [[Tenebrous]] for his atrocities against there brethren. Still in a weakened state from his encounters with Hunger, Thanos and the Fallen One, Galactus along with the Silver Surfer, was easily defeated by the Proemial Gods and handed over to [[Annihilus]]. While holding Galactus in captivity, Annihilus persuaded Thanos to find a way to harness his mighty “power cosmic” to use the world devourer as a cosmic cannon. Galactus would eventually freed by the actions of [[Drax|Drax the Destroyer]]. Soon after, Galactus was assaulted by yet another extra-dimensional powerhouse who sought the origins of the universe, but he recovered via the actions of the Avengers and a league of heroes from another reality.

=== The Survivors Rebel, The Torch Transformed ===
[[image: galactus03.jpg|left|200px|thumb]]A group of survivors of Galactus' predations discovered a means to shield worlds from him, but learned that a power on Earth could overcome this technology. [[Zius]] led the survivors to Earth to prevent Galactus from obtaining this power: the [[Invisible Woman]]. Reed Richards switched the powers of the Invisible Woman with the [[Human Torch (Johnny Storm)|Human Torch]], deceiving Zius into believing he had neutralized her power; however, Galactus arrived almost immediately afterwards and claimed Johnny as his new herald, amplifying his powers via the power cosmic. While pretending to fulfill his mission, Johnny sought to rally other worlds against Galactus, ultimately delaying him until the Fantastic Four and [[Quasar (Wendell Vaughn)|Quasar]] could arrive to help. Johnny's new powers allowed him to analyze Galactus' nature, and he instructed Reed and Quasar to form a device that temporarily transformed Galactus back to the powerless Galan. Brought to Manhattan while Reed raced to find an alternate energy source for him, Galan was impressed with humanity's indomitable will and constant struggle against hardship, and he chose to exile himself extra-dimensionally rather than risk destroying it all when his power returned.

=== Back to Basics ===
Apparently reverting to his old ways upon regaining his power, Galactus returned and recruited a new herald, [[Stardust]], who worshipped his master and believed others should submit to him. Galactus then consumed the second home of the Korbinite race, though the people's life forces were preserved in a Meta-Orb. When their protector, [[Beta Ray Bill]], fought Stardust, the herald unwittingly opened a dimensional warp that unleashed the monstrous Astoreth, who threatened to consume the entire universe. While Bill joined forces with Stardust against her, Galactus empowered Bill's predecessor, [[Alpha Ray Bill]], who sacrificed himself and Stardust in the process of driving Astoreth into a black hole.

Beyond good and evil, forced to destroy entire worlds to survive, Galactus is intimately tied to the nature of the universe. He believes it is his destiny to ultimately give back to the universe much more than he has taken. He currently has two heralds, Silver Surfer, and Stardust.

*Note: The Surfer once believed the enigmatic cosmic [[Other]] had consumed Zenn-La shortly after his departure and that Zenn-La's existence was a mere illusion maintained by Galactus. However, numerous interactions of [[Shalla-Bal]] and other Zenn-Lavians with the people of Earth and other races would seem to refute this. The truth remains uncertain.

*Note: Although Galactus is usually represented in humanoid form, each sentient being perceives him having a form resembling that of his own race; humans see him as humanoid and Skrulls as Skrullian.

Years before, Gwen had an affair with Norman Osborn, subsequently became pregnant and rapidly gave birth to twins, [[Stacy, Gabriel|Gabriel]] and [[Stacy, Sarah|Sarah]]. After his own apparent 'death,' Osborn raised the pair, who were aging rapidly due to their genetic inheritance of the Goblin formula. Osborn told them that Peter was their father and had killed their mother but Spider-Man eventually made them face the truth.

bio_text= The legacy of Brother Voodoo dates back to the 17th century when a former slave named [[Brother Voodoo (Laurent)|Laurent]] gained the power of the Loa. Empowered by the Voodoo [[Glossary:G#god|god]] Legba with assistance from the earth goddess [[Gaea]], Laurent used a spell to bind the spirit of his dead brother Alexandre to his own soul, transforming him into the Lord of the Loa to oppose zombies. Allied with French freebooter Captain Tyger, Laurent's legend would grow over the centuries, inspiring later successors, many of whom were known as Brother Voodoo. An early 18th century [[Brother Voodoo (unrevealed)|Brother Voodoo]] encountered the sorcerer [[Cagliostro]].

In the modern era, Jericho Drumm grew up in an environment immersed in the occult. While his brother Daniel embraced the local Voodoo (or Voudoun) legends, Jericho rejected this as superstitious nonsense. He eventually journeyed to the U.S.A. and became a prosperous psychologist. Twelve years after leaving Haiti, he was summoned back home to see his dying brother, who had been struck down by a Zobop (a false god) claiming to be [[Dam-Ayido|Damballah]], the Snake Spirit of Voodoo lore; in reality, this Damballah was a man possessed by the [[Glossary:D#demon|demon]] spawn of the [[Elder God]] [[Set]], also named [[Damballah (Haitian)|Damballah]]. Daniel asked his brother to study under [[Papa Jambo]] as he had done and become the new Brother Voodoo, but Jericho gave in to his rage and confronted the Zobop, who nearly killed him. Papa Jambo then tutored Jericho in the ancient ways of their people, culminating in a ritual which summoned forth the Loa (or spirit) of his brother Daniel and bound it to Jericho. Confident that he had found a truly worthy heir in Jericho, Papa Jambo allowed himself to die. Jericho then confronted the false Damballah and his Council Supreme, a union of leaders of dark cults across the globe. Jericho defeated him, tearing off the wangal (amulet) that gave him his powers, causing the [[Glossary:S#super-villain|villain]] to be killed by his own serpents. The Zobop's former servant Bambu swore allegiance to Jericho, recognizing that he was truly Lord of the Loa.

Brother Voodoo and Bambu took up residence in a mansion near Louisiana's French Quarter. Jericho was soon called back to Haiti to battle [[Baron Samedi (unrevealed)|Baron Samedi]], who had worked with Advanced Idea Mechanics ([[A.I.M.]]) to create pseudo-zombies called Zuvembies. The majority of the Zuvembies were innocent men and women, stolen in the dead of night while paying respects to their loved ones in local cemeteries. Unlike true zombies, Zuvembies were not actually dead. A device created by Samedi and A.I.M. drained their minds but not their souls. Samedi hoped to use the device on Brother Voodoo himself, making him the vanguard of the Zuvembi forces. Jericho, however, summoned a lizard that chewed through the device's power cable. Voodoo made short work of Samedi and restored the Zuvembies to their natural state.

Soon after, Voodoo saved the life of Loralee Tate, the daughter of New Orleans chief of detectives Samuel Tate. Loralee had been targeted by worshippers of the Black Rooster, but Jericho's attempts to protect her drew the wrath of her father, who temporarily issued an arrest warrant for the [[Glossary:S#super hero|hero]]. With the aid of local priestess Mama Limbo, Brother Voodoo tracked down the now-missing girl and rescued her from the group's leader, the [[Black Talon (Desmond Drew)|Black Talon]]. A houngan named Dramabu later revived Papa Jambo, using him as a zombie servant in a failed bid to destroy Brother Voodoo.

Jericho's activities began to attract the notice of other heroes, and he soon found himself aiding them whenever voodoo entered their lives. Trailing a malevolent Loa named Moondog, Jericho visited New York City and helped [[Spider-Man (Peter Parker)|Spider-Man]] halt the attempted slaying of young actress Gail Paris. Brother Voodoo then traveled to Brazil to help [[Vampire Hunters|vampire hunter]] [[Drake, Frank|Frank Drake]] overcome a trap laid for him by [[Dracula]]. Drake, who had been suffering through a prolonged period of self-doubt, drew inspiration from Jericho and rededicated himself to hunting Dracula after their encounter. Months later, Jericho aided the [[Werewolf By Night|Werewolf]] (Jack Russell) and his [[Glossary:E#empathic|empathic]] ally [[Topaz]] against the evil machinations of [[Doctor Glitternight]]. Jericho was able to ease Russell's tortured existence by temporarily sharing his brother Daniel's spirit with the werewolf. While Daniel inhabited Russell's body, Russell could control the Werewolf's transformations and actions. After a harrowing battle with a zombie horde, the Werewolf entered the so-called Black Egg, which housed Glitternight's power. Within the Egg, Daniel lived once more, and physically assisted the Werewolf in defeating their mutual enemy. In the end, Daniel returned to his spirit state and once more occupied a spot within his brother's soul.

Aided by the [[Thing (Benjamin Grimm)|Thing]], Jericho later uncovered a plot to kidnap prominent members of the black community. Entering a small African nation bordering Uganda, Jericho encountered the Voodoo priest W'Sulli, who had enslaved a [[Glossary:V#vampire|vampire]] and transformed it into a form of zombie. W'Sulli was working with Dr. Kinji Obatu, who sought revenge against those who had wronged him. Jericho and the Thing defeated Obatu and W'Sulli, rescuing several notable celebrities, including the [[Black Panther (T'Challa)|Black Panther]]. Jericho later tried to increase his own power through his enemy Damballah's wangal, and was possessed by the Set-spawn Damballah, but [[Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)|Dr. Strange]] freed Jericho and re-imprisoned the demon within the wangal. When the [[Grandmaster]] challenged [[Death (embodiment)|Death]] to a [[Contest of Champions]], Brother Voodoo found himself a part of the proceedings. He joined the hero [[Moon Knight]] against the Grand Bois, a terrorist who had been raising zombies in Haiti. Brother Voodoo was later ambushed in Haiti by agents of Doctor Friday, who used the Zhambi Concombre potion to place Jericho in a mindless, tractable, zombie-like state, intending to use him as a pawn. Jericho escaped and fought off the drug with the help of Moon Knight, and the two brought down Friday and his alliance with mobster Brutale.

[[Earth|Earth's]] [[Glossary:S#Sorcerer Supreme|Sorcerer Supreme]] Dr. Strange secured Jericho's aid when [[Laveau, Marie|Marie Laveau]] sought to revive the world's vampires; during this time, Bambu sacrificed his life to save Morganna Blessing, and his spirit played an unwilling role in resurrecting the vampire [[Varnae]]. Following this, Loralee spurned a desperately lonely Jericho, who had Daniel's spirit possess her so that she would love him. Finally overcome with guilt, Jericho removed Daniel, and Loralee left him. Seeking to regain his focus, Jericho wrote a book, Do You Voodoo, I Do!, and went on a tour promoting it, sometimes resorting to publicity stunts such as hiring an actress to play his alleged partner, "Sister Voodoo" (not to mention her son, "Voodoo Chile").

For a time, Jericho abandoned the Brother Voodoo identity because he had "given up on brotherhood." Jericho investigated the zombie Nathaniel "Nat" Mare, whom Ellery Snow was using to avenge Mare's decades-old murder. Jericho also worked with Dracula's daughter, [[Lilith (Daughter Of Dracula)|Lilith]], helping her control her raging bloodlust while hunting vampires and other undead beings. The duo fought alongside the [[Ghost Rider (Daniel Ketch)|Ghost Rider]] against the [[Scarecrow (Ebenezer Laughton)|Scarecrow]]. Back in New Orleans, Jericho united with the vampire hunter [[Blade (Eric Brooks)|Blade]] to defeat an alliance between Marie Laveau and [[Frost, Deacon|Deacon Frost]], and Jericho turned the true Damballah against Laveau.

Jericho's old friend Bambi Arbogast called Voodoo in to help revive [[Iron Fist (Danny Rand)|Iron Fist]], who had spent his life-force saving [[Cage, Luke|Luke Cage]]. Sensing a rift developing between the worlds of the living and the dead caused by the resurrection of [[Killmonger, Erik|Erik Killmonger]], Jericho journeyed to the side of the Black Panther, sending Moon Knight into the Realm of the Dead to retrieve the Panther's spirit after he had been slain by Killmonger. This led Panther into conflict with [[Nightmare]], but in the end, T'Challa was restored to life and Jericho returned home. By this time, Jericho had developed a sense of protectiveness about New Orleans, eagerly identifying himself as its local super hero. Jericho cautiously observed the plots involving the mystic Inficio Aquilus, the first tarot card deck, and later helped the [[X-Men|X-Men's]] [[Gambit]] against the zombie army raised by Antoinelle Arcenaux. {{eventhistory|event_text= During a televised raid of a house containing select villains that had recently escaped from the super villain facility at Ryker's Island prison during a massive breakout, the escaped villain [[Nitro (Robert Hunter)|Nitro]] let off a massive explosion that killed the majority of the [[New Warriors]], as well as the children at a nearby elementary school. In the wake of the tragedy, the U.S. Government proposed the Superhuman Registration Act, intending to register all super-powered beings as living weapons of mass destruction and requiring all costumed heroes to unmask themselves before the government and subject themselves to federally mandated standards.

This event triggered negative public opinion against the super-heroes, resulting in the assault of [[Human Torch (Johnny Storm)]] by a mob and the request by [[S.H.I.E.L.D.]] for [[Captain America (Steve Rogers)|Captain America]] to become part of the enforcement of super heroes to register. When Cap refused, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director [[Hill, Maria|Maria Hill]] ordered S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Anti-Superhuman Response Unit to tranquilize him, but Rogers escaped and went underground.

When the super-heroes met to discuss the best course of action, [[Uatu the Watcher]] appeared. As Watchers only appear to monitor key events throughout history, it was noted that his presence did not bode well for the heroes.

In a secret meeting with the President, [[Iron Man (Tony Stark)|Iron Man]] suggested that the President proceed and push the registration act while he, [[Mister Fantastic|Mr. Fantastic]], and [[Yellowjacket (Henry Pym)|Yellowjacket]] vowed to bring Captain America to the ground.

The Superhero Registration Act became law. Some of the first unregistered heroes to be captured were the [[Young Avengers]]. Captain America and the [[Falcon (Sam Wilson)|Falcon]] were undercover, and with the help of [[Wiccan]] were able to rescue the Young Avengers and rendezvous to their base. The Young Avengers were recruited into the Resistance.

At a press conference in Washington D.C., Iron Man gave a speech introducing [[Spider-Man (Peter Parker)|Spider-Man]] to the podium. Spider-Man then talked about how over the past years, he had kept his identity a secret, then talked about the registration act and how it gave superheroes a choice: to continue the trend Captain America advocated and have people with powers completely unchecked, or that superheroes could go legitimate and earn back a little public interest. To demonstrate his support of the Act, Spider-Man unmasked himself and revealed to the world that he was Peter Parker.

Iron Man traveled to the [[Xavier Institute For Higher Learning|X-Men Mansion]], asking [[Frost, Emma|Emma Frost]] if the [[X-Men]] would sign the registration act and join his side. Miss Frost explained to Stark that the X-Men would not sign the registration act because they viewed hunting down other heroes would violate everything they stood for explaining that they know what it's like to fight the good fight while being persecuted. Frost said that as long as the pro-registration side left the X-Men alone, they would not join Captain America's resistance. While Stark left the mansion, he was approached by [[Bishop (Lucas Bishop)|Bishop]], who asked for a word with Iron Man.

As Captain America, [[Hercules (Heracles)|Hercules]], [[Iron Fist (Danny Rand)|Daredevil]], and [[Goliath (Bill Foster)|Goliath]] were discussing their new secret identities, they received news of a petrochemical plant fire with three or four hundred workers trapped inside. Uniting the Secret Avengers, they headed to the plant only to discover that it was a trap set by Iron Man. Iron Man gave Captain America one last chance to register, offering a chance to explain things. Captain America answered by striking the first blow and disabling Iron Man's armor. A battle ensued, ending with Iron Man savagely beating Captain America, and the apparent return of the long-absent thunder god [[Thor (CSA clone)|Thor]] lashing out against Captain America's Secret Avengers. As the Secret Avengers attempted to escape, Thor used his hammer to subdue them, blasting a hole through Goliath’s chest when he was attacked. Thor continued his assault until the Invisible Woman used her powers to protect the Secret Avengers and allow them to escape. Thor, who had just killed Goliath, was revealed to be a clone. He, and his mechanical hammer, had been engineered to serve the government. His violent murder of Goliath was an unforeseen error in his programming.

The death of Goliath opened the eyes of many and put things in a different perspective, causing several members to leave both sides for the other. The Pro-Registration side ended up losing more members than anticipated, causing operations to be put in action faster than planned. Iron Man assembled a new group of [[Thunderbolts (CSA)|Thunderbolts]] in order to hunt down the Secret Avengers, consisting of several very brutal villains.

Eventually, the resistance mounted an attack against the pro-registration's holding facility in the [[Negative Zone]], releasing the prisoners. The fighting between many of Earth's heroes led to the middle of Times Square. At the climax of the battle, as Cap was about to deliver a finishing blow to Iron Man, he was tackled by several emergency workers. Realizing the damage the war was doing to the city and its civilian population, Captain America unmasked and surrendered. Before his arraignment, Cap was shot multiple times on the steps of a Federal Courthouse and killed.

Ever since the Secret Wars and Spidey brought the Symbiot back with him, I have been intrigued by the thought of the alien suit. I've been waiting for the movie ever since. The pseudo strands grabbing 6 or 7 thugs holding them in the air while Venom picks out which one to start with. The Secret Wars were before my time, however I've seen the comics and I've followed Venom for sometime. I liked the black suit on spidey as well. So, can anyone tell me if or when the movie will be coming?

Venom will be in the upcoming Spider-Man 3 movie. In the 90's ('92-'97, I think), there was talk of "the Spider-Man, Venom, ect." movies, but I don't think that it's likely after all this time. I know that Angelo was smaller than Brock and that when the symbiote bonded with Angelo, it actually was larger. However I guess its just the looks of Brock. Is it just me, or does anyone else want the white spider on Spidey's chest to go all the way around as in the comics with the black costume? From the previews, it looks like they just dunked the suit in black paint. I was hoping for a different look with a new costume like that in the comics. Difference is in the spider logos. The front one is bigger and has curved upper legs. The back one isnt the old red spider like but white spider that also has curved upper legs. It also looks little biger. Otherwise it looks the same but quite frankly I like how it looks and why would the suit change it appearence to that kind its seen in the comics. If you people dont remember why the suit orginally took that form. It was because Spider-Man wanted it to look like that when it attached itself to him. Now because the Secret War part isnt happened Spider-Man never saw Spider-Woman's costume and never got the idea that he would want a costume like that. That's actually a good point. I guess since in the movie the Secret Wars didn't happen then there wouldn't be the costume look as far as what he could compare it too and want it to look like. Early reports had me kinda worried, at first they said Venom was goin to have a purple/blue tint in his costume like in the comics. When they realized that the tint was to only distinguish the black lines on his black costume they decided against it. I heard that while they previewed the longer teaser at Comic-Con they showed a lot of scenes with Venom in it and he is to look just like he did in the comics. They felt that being such a fan favourite of any spider-man fan he needed to be in this movie and not have any changes happen to him. - maximum/carnage

Yeah, sononsj, thats the one. Venom lost a small piece of his tongue in a battle with the Fantastic Four, and that piece was sold on Ebay. Some people bought it and cloned/created a new Venom, and the clone/new Venom caused a lot of trouble. I know its true, because I read it on Official Handbook - Spider-Man 2004. It had just a small part in the end of the bio that some institute in canada cloned the symbiote from the part of the tongue and Venom tryed to get it back, but the institute was destroyed and the clone escaped in the chaos. It's very much true! I own the entire series and the tongue gets detatched in a fight with the F4, by the Human Torch. It's picked up by some loser then stolen by a secret orginization. Venom is then cloned and makes his way through Alaska, and even attatches itself to a wolf, Wolverine, and lastly onto the female protagonist. Eventually the clone gets to New York and fights the original Venom in a symbiotic showdown!!! The cloned Venom host had been using a special collar to control her symbiote and then as soon as it gets deactivated, her symbiote jumps rihgt her and combines with the original to create a Super-Venom. Who is so big that, before he leaving, smiles at Spider-Man, revealing his single tooth being bigger Spidey's entire body, and jumps out the window swinging away. Just after that scene on the last page, you see a mysterious man speaking into a mike and says "Mission accomplished." - SymbioteSentry

I seem to remember a story that happened during the clone saga where Brock got rid of Venom temporarily, and Venom got angry and called a whole planet of symbiotes to invade Earth. I want Eddie to regain a bit of his sanity first. He seemed out of it... if you know what i mean. I'd actually like to see something of a mental battle for dominance between them or just communication in which Brock gets a bit of an attitude against the symbiote, sorta like Toxin. I agree. I still like Eddie as Venom. To me, you cant have Venom without Eddie. Its just not the same charactor. I really dont like the fact that they got Mac as the new Venom. I think if they're going to basicly kill off Eddie, then they should kill the Venom charactor period. If no one is going to try to make these entries accurate what is the point? In the Marvel Universe Update it was stated the character could lift 11 tons. Since that time it has been clearly stated in one Marvel Universe Master Edition that he could lift 25 tons and suggested in the books that he could lift at least 50 tons or 79 tons or 100. 11 tons is simply not a significant difference between Spidey's original 10 ton range. Frustrated by their defeats at the hand of Spider-Man, six of his top villains gathered forces under Doctor Octopus to form the [[Sinister Six]]. Through wits and determination, Spider-Man defeated the group one at a time.

Peter Parker’s confidence gradually increased. At the same time, his relationship with Betty crumbled as handsome reporter Ned Leeds stole her heart. Jameson took his campaign against Spider-Man to a new level, sponsoring the creation of the deranged [[Venom (Mac Gargan)|Scorpion]], under Dr. Farley Stillwell. Though the Scorpion turned on Jameson, the publisher persisted with attacks against Spider-Man, and rented the first of a series of robotic Spider Slayers invented by Dr. Spencer Smythe. Spider-Man was able to use his technical know-how to defeat the Slayer. While Aunt May persisted with attempts to introduce Peter to [[Watson, Mary Jane|Mary Jane Watson]], the niece of neighbor Anna Watson, Spider-Man tackled organized crime led by the Crime Master and the Green Goblin. Because a previous transfusion of his radioactive blood to Aunt May was slowly killing her, Spider-Man enlisted aid from [[Lizard (Curtis Connors)|Dr. Connors]]. The antidote that had been called in to cure Aunt May was stolen, and Spider-Man fought like a madman to retain it. Before Spider-Man could deliver the antidote, ISO-36, he was trapped under rubble in a battle with the "Master Planner” (revealed to be Doctor Octopus). Spider-Man courageously forced his way out to administer the elixir to Aunt May.

While Aunt May convalesced, Peter relaxed and befriended Harry and Gwen. Soon after, the Green Goblin negated Spider-Man's spider-sense, and kidnapped him. There, the Goblin revealed himself to be Harry's father, Norman. The two battled, but Spider-Man triumphed knocking the Goblin into live wires and chemicals. Norman was left with partial amnesia, blocking his memories of being Goblin and of Spider-Man's identity.

The Avengers invited Spider-Man to join their ranks, but after facing the Hulk, he declined the offer, preferring the freedom of working alone. Meanwhile, Peter could no longer evade meeting Mary Jane. Assuming the worst, Peter was stunned to discover she was both gorgeous and vivacious. Their first date involved riding into the city on Pete's new motorcycle take pictures of the Rhino. After another battle with the Lizard and new foe, the Shocker, Peter moved into Harry's apartment, rent free. Despite his new found independence, happiness eluded him. Worn out by Jameson's editorials, the public's fear of him, Aunt May's fragile health, slipping grades, and floundering love life, Peter decided to become Spider-Man no more. While Peter enjoyed time studying, and being with friends and family, crime escalated as the Kingpin's initiated his master plan to oversee the criminal underworld. After Peter rescued a watchman resembling Uncle Ben from two robbers, he renewed his vow to never let an innocent come to harm because he failed to act. Subsequently, Spider-Man battled the [[Kingpin]], Doctor Octopus (who became Aunt May's boarder), a new Vulture, a new Spider Slayer, and Mysterio. He and the [[Human Torch (Johnny Storm)|Human Torch]] went to Hollywood where they tackled Mysterio and the [[Wizard]].

=== The Girl, the Goblin, and the Great Heartbreak ===
Though Peter dated MJ on occasion, he soon fell for the more serious-minded Gwen, causing tension between Harry and himself. Peter met Gwen's father, retired police Captain [[Stacy, George|George Stacy]], who studied Spider-Man, and questioned Peter about his first-hand experience. The Kingpin brainwashed Capt. Stacy (using Norman Osborn's equipment) into stealing police records. After Peter published pictures exposing Stacy, the Kingpin kidnapped George and Gwen. Spider-Man and Osborn rescued the two, but the Kingpin escaped. The Kingpin next focused on stealing a legendary stone tablet but Spider-Man retrieved it, and left it with Capt. Stacy. The Shocker stole it back, and Dr. Connors was forced by Man Mountain Marko to translate it for an aged gangster, [[Silvermane]]. Connors revealed a formula for a youth potion. Silvermane drank the liquid, and became a young man again. Tragically, he could not stop the de-aging process, and shrank so small, he ultimately disappeared. Meanwhile, the stress on Dr. Connors triggered a transformation again. After a fierce melee across the city, with unwelcome help from the Human Torch, Spider-Man rescued Connors.

[[image:Gwendeath01.jpg|right]]Though Peter's frequent unexplained disappearances as Spider-Man have caused friction with Gwen, their love for each other gave Peter hope for a happy future together. As the bond between Peter and Gwen grew ever stronger, it was approvingly observed by Gwen's father, Police Captain George Stacy, who also supported the efforts of Spider-Man. But tragedy struck when Captain Stacy was crushed by a falling chimney, saving an innocent child during a battle between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus. With his dying breath, Captain Stacy told Spider-Man, "take care of Gwen, Peter". Spider-Man had lost a great ally.

Gwen blamed Spider-Man for her father's death. Peter's conscience, already tormented by the ever present need to lie to Gwen, became even more troubled. Yet their love prevailed through life's challenges - including Harry's drug addiction, and Spider-Man's aborted attempt to remove his own powers, that instead resulted in him being transformed into a six armed freak. In the end, it was death which separated the two lovers. The Green Goblin kidnapped Gwen, and dropped her off the Brooklyn Bridge. Spider-Man tried, but failed to save her. In the vicious battle which followed, Norman was accidentally impaled by his own Goblin Glider. His apparent death was secretly observed by his son, Harry, who swore his own revenge on Spider-Man. Harry soon succumbed to the Osborn Legacy, kidnapping those whom Peter loved most, only barely being stopped from finishing the work that Norman Osborn had started.

=== A Clone is Born ===
Meanwhile Peter and Gwen's college Professor, Miles Warren, had begun his own deadly schemes as the [[Jackal]]. Miles blamed Spider-Man for the death of Gwen, whom he had himself fallen in love with. The climax of the Jackal's plan was his creation of a [[Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly)|Spider-Man clone]], but at the conclusion of the final battle, both the Jackal and the clone were killed. With their departure, Peter's life returned to normality, as much as it ever could for a college student who was secretly a costumed super-hero.

In the meantime, Peter and Mary Jane realized that their relationship had become far more than just friendship. So much so that, shortly before his college graduation, Peter proposed to Mary Jane. But she had seen too much pain in her own family, and she turned him down. She left New York to pursue her modeling career in Florida, and Peter Parker moved on to post-graduate studies. It was a time for new challenges, and new friends. But one thing would never change; the ever-present responsibility he faced as Spider-Man.

=== Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places ===
Entering his post-graduate studies, Peter's close college friends began to find their own lives. Liz Allan was dating (later to marry) a recovering Harry Osborn. Flash Thompson was looking for a life after football and the army, with his girlfriend Sha Shan. Betty Brant had married Bugle reporter [[Hobgoblin (Ned Leeds)|Ned Leeds]]. Even Peter's Aunt May had found romance with [[Lubensky, Nathan|Nathan Lubensky]], fellow occupant of the convalescent home she had moved into. With his friends all in cozy couples, Mary Jane's departure was all the more unsettling. But it was not long before Peter began dating again. He enjoyed several dates with Cissy Ironwood. Also, departmental secretary Deborah Whitman was attracted to Peter, but failed to win his heart. Dawn Starr, undergraduate student, pretended to date Peter though actually wanting to sneak a look at an upcoming exam. Amy Powell tried to use Peter to make her fiancé Lance Bannon jealous.

=== A Partner in Crimefighting ===
These women had one thing in common - Peter Parker. But when [[Black Cat|Felicia Hardy]], crossed Spider-Man's path, things were different. Felicia was beautiful, talented, and determined. She was also an unrepentant burglar who had a romantic fascination with her web-slinging hero. Spider-Man persuaded Felicia to turn away from crime, and the two of them became lovers - and crime-fighting partners. Felicia urged Peter to spend more and more time in costume. The glamorous Black Cat could never bear to see her super-hero living the squalid life of post-grad student. Becoming Spider-Man was made easier since Aunt May had recovered enough to return home and open the Parker residence as a boarding home for retired people, aided by Nathan. Aided by the Black Cat, Spider-Man faced Doc Ock and the [[Owl]] - a battle which nearly cost Felicia her life. Peter was brought crashing down to earth. He realized that without super-powers, Felicia was just like the others from his past, who had so often paid the price for Peter being Spider-Man.

=== The Redhead Returns ===
When Mary Jane returned from Florida she found Peter and the Black Cat in a shaky and tempestuous relationship. Felicia could not bear the thought of Peter not allowing her to accompany him into battle, and she embarked on a secret search for super-powers at any price. Tricked by the Kingpin, and twisted in her own deceit, the Black Cat and Spider-Man finally parted ways. In contrast, Mary Jane was determined not to let lies come between her and Peter Parker. She finally told Peter that she had known for some time about his secret identity. With Spider-Man's secret finally out in the open, Peter and Mary Jane's relationship found new depth.

=== Peter Makes a New Friend from Outer Space ===
[[image:BlackCostume-CVess-WOS1.jpg|left]]Certainly there always was plenty of action for Spider-Man in New York, especially with the appearance of the deadly [[Hobgoblin]], and Peter's troubles with his symbiotic black costume he obtained after being whisked away to the [[Secret Wars]], a battle on a far away world between the Earth's greatest heroes and villains orchestrated by the enigmatic [[Maker|Beyonder]]. His costume shredded, Spider-Man thought he obtained a new black and white costume (similar in design to the new [[Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter)|Spider-Woman]]) from a costume making machine. After returning home to Earth, Peter discovered his costume was actually a living entity, feeding off his adrenalin as it possessed his body while he slept. Thanks to [[Mister Fantastic]], the costume was removed by sonic blasts, and captured. It escaped, still emotionally dependant on Spider-Man and reattached itself. Spider-Man forced it off by the loud noise atop the bell-tower of a church (where the alien costume would later attach itself to Eddie Brock forming [[Anti-venom (Eddie Brock)|Venom]]).

=== Wedding Bells for the Webhead ===
As Spider-Man, Peter faced the death of his good friend [[Dewolff, Jean|Police Captain Jean DeWolff]] at the hands of the [[Sin-Eater]]. He watched Flash Thompson be taken for a criminal, and Ned Leeds killed, both for their involvement with the Hobgoblin. But things were different now - he had Mary Jane by his side. Peter proposed for a second time, and was accepted. As newlyweds, Peter and Mary Jane shared happiness, but faced many perils also. Mary Jane was menaced by both Kraven the Hunter, and by Venom, both of whom knew Peter's identity. Mary Jane loved Peter, and had deep respect for his sense of responsibility. But she was unprepared for the loneliness, the fear for his life, and the nagging doubt that perhaps Peter needed Spider-Man far more than he needed her. During this time, Spider-Man gained the cosmic powers of [[Captain Universe]] making him virtually indestructible, able to fly, shoot cosmic energy blasts, and possess unimaginable strength. This temporary augmentation allowed Spider-Man to defend himself against a new assortment of foes (including [[Graviton]], [[Magneto (Magnus)|Magneto]], [[Titania (Mary MacPherran)|Titania]], and [[Dragon Man]]), as villains attempted to aid each other by targeting each others' enemies. At the opposite extreme, Spider-Man temporarily lost all of his powers under the trickery of the [[Chameleon]], but was aided by the Black Cat in restoring his abilities. Spider-Man, along with the [[Hulk (Bruce Banner)|Hulk]], [[Ghost Rider (Daniel Ketch)|Ghost Rider]], and [[Wolverine (James Howlett)|Wolverine]] briefly formed an unofficial ad-hoc Fantastic Four team, while the real Fantastic Four were captured by Skrulls. The group quickly disbanded.

Amongst the daily battles with New York's villains, and the challenges of keeping his marriage alive, Peter soon faced the inexplicable return of his parents, [[Parker, Mary|Mary]] and [[Parker, Richard|Richard Parker]]. Long since believed dead, they claimed to have lost their memory of the intervening years. Aunt May was not ready to accept them, but Peter finally believed them to be what they claimed to be, even showing them his identity as Spider-Man. But Peter's heart had over-ridden his instincts. The pair were eventually revealed as robot agents of the Chameleon, part of a plan prompted by Harry Osborn, recently returned as the Green Goblin. Spider-Man was filled with anger at this deeply personal attack. It seemed to him that those he loved were fated to die, while the evil in his life would always return to haunt him.

=== I Am the Spider ===
A darkness began to fill Spider-Man's heart, like never before. Still brooding over the Chameleon's invasion of his life, and Harry's death after a twisted attack on both the Osborn and Parker families, Peter was then faced with Aunt May's serious heart attack. May hospitalized, and not expected to recover. Peter's frustration at life's injustices boiled over into violence. Encountering the recently reformed and powerless Scorpion, Spider-Man cruelly beat his former foe close to death - ignoring his victim's pleas for mercy. Calling himself "the Spider", it seemed that Peter was even beyond Mary Jane's powers to heal him. In the end, his salvation came at the hands of [[Judas Traveller]], a psychologist with most unusual methods. Peter's recovery from his dark madness coincided with the return of a figure from Peter's distant past - his clone, created by the Jackal. The clone had survived, and had wandered the U.S. using the adopted name "Ben Reilly". Learning that Aunt May was very ill, the clone returned to New York, just in time to see her pass away. He adopted a costumed identity as the "Scarlet Spider", and portrayed himself as Peter's long-lost cousin. Peter and Ben became friends, even almost brothers. The Jackal himself had also survived. Deceived at the hands of Norman Osborn, the Jackal declared that in fact Ben was the original, and Peter the clone. Though Peter took the revelation badly, Ben subsequently took over the role of Spider-Man, leaving Peter and pregnant Mary Jane free to enjoy a "normal" life. Peter returned to his scientific career, though hampered by having never completed his doctorate. He and MJ also tried moving to Portland, until they realized that New York was where they truly belonged. But all too soon, their new world was shattered when Norman Osborn burst back into their lives. He also had survived his apparent death, and was the mastermind behind all of the Jackal's schemes. Norman killed Ben, revealing him to be the clone after all. But Norman's schemes went even deeper and deadlier than ever - he apparently caused Mary Jane to miscarry the baby and held Peter's Aunt May hostage. The woman believed to have been Aunt May that had died was a genetically modified actress, part of a subtle plot which was never carried to fruition.

=== A New Chapter ===
Reunited at last, Peter, Mary Jane, and Aunt May moved into a luxurious apartment. With the Green Goblin defeated in battle, driven more deeply insane by a mystical ceremony, Peter promise Mary Jane that he would give up being Spider-Man and concentrate on their family. He took a job at Tri Corp Research while Mary Jane returned to modeling. But after various emergencies and the appearance of a new Spider-Man (actually [[Spider-Woman (Mattie Franklin)|Mattie Franklin]]), Peter could not seem to keep his word.

While Mary Jane was being increasingly threatened by an anonymous stalker, Peter was secretly breaking his promise and returning to web-slinging. Mary Jane, preoccupied with modeling, was distraught feeling a space grow between her and Peter. After catching Peter still active as Spider-Man, MJ vanished when a plane she had boarded exploded. Peter was devastated. Aunt May returned to her home in Forest Hills, while Peter returned to his bachelor lifestyle moving in with Randy Robertson. He socialized with Randy, [[Grant, Glory|Glory Grant]] (now a couple), and Gwen's cousin [[Stacy, Jill| Jill Stacy]] while his attractive neighbor, Caryn intrigued him. But with Peter still emotionally adrift, Norman picked the perfect time to drug Peter and incite him to becoming his heir. But even lost and confused as he was, Peter proved that his could resist Osborn's brainwashing attempt. Meanwhile, Mary Jane was not dead, but had been kidnapped by her stalker. Spider-Man managed to rescue Mary Jane, only to discover that she needed time away from him. Mary Jane left for the West Coast, leaving Peter to struggle with a loss almost as traumatic as her apparent death. While Peter turned to his Aunt May for support, May discovered Peter's greatest secret, visiting unannounced, and finding him asleep in costume after his grueling victory against [[Morlun]]. After coming to terms with the truth, May quickly became Spider-Man's strongest supporter, and the two became closer than ever. At May's suggestion, Peter returned to Midtown High, now more rundown that Peter remembered it, to teach science part-time. With renewed hopes, Peter and Mary Jane agreed to try once to make things work between them. After their time apart, Peter earnestly assured Mary Jane that he truly needs her in his life.

=== A Mystical Connection? ===
The mysterious [[Ezekiel]], who shared similar spider-like abilities, made Peter question the source of his powers, implying a mystical reason the spider chose to bite him. Ezekiel had stolen his powers through an arcane ceremony and needed to sacrifice Spider-Man to keep them. When his ritual joined their minds, however, Ezekiel realized Spider-Man was the worthy hero and sacrificed himself.

=== A Past Indiscretion ===
[[image: Spidey banner.jpg|right|200px]]Back home, Spider-Man fought the two adult children of his ex-love, Gwen Stacy. Years before, Gwen had an affair with Norman Osborn, subsequently became pregnant and rapidly gave birth to twins, [[Stacy, Gabriel|Gabriel]] and [[Stacy, Sarah|Sarah]]. After his own apparent 'death,' Osborn raised the pair, who were aging rapidly due to their genetic inheritance of the Goblin formula. Osborn told them that Peter was their father and had killed their mother but Spider-Man eventually made them face the truth.

Osborn also revealed Spider-Man's identity to the [[Venom (Mac Gargan)|Scorpion]], and had him kidnap Aunt May. Osborn had been publicly revealed as the Green Goblin and jailed after murdering journalist Terri Kidder. He knew big businesses had been conspiring for decades to create super-villains and, as a potential whistle-blower, was an easy target in prison. Osborn wanted Peter to break him out in return for May's freedom, but when Peter did, a battle erupted with the [[Sinister Twelve]], including Gargan himself - now the new Venom after bonding with the alien symbiote. Spider-Man, with the help of other super-heroes, was able to defeat the Sinister Twelve and save his Aunt May. Around this time, Spider-Man met the [[Queen]] who had powers allowing her to control the world's insects, eventually causing Spider-Man to mutate into a giant spider. She planned to detonate a bomb that would kill everyone except those with the "insect" gene but Peter returned to his human form and stopped her, augmented with enhanced powers including silk glands within his forearms.

=== Major League ===
After a breakout at the [[Raft|Raft Security Prison]], Spider-Man joined the Avengers (newly formed in the aftermath of the [[Scarlet Witch]]'s attack on her own team). An old classmate of Peter's named [[Weiderman, Charlie|Charlie Weiderman]] went on an insane rampage after his experiments covered him in [[Vibranium]], and burned down the Parker's home in Forest Hills. Peter moved into Tony Stark's tower with Aunt May and Mary Jane. For this and various other reasons, Spider-Man's secret identity was shared with many of the world's heroes including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, providing him with an venue to communicate among his peers.

Morlun returned again, viciously beating Spider-Man, removing an eye, and hospitalizing him. Mary Jane tried to stop Morlun from finishing off her husband. But when Morlun threatened to kill her, Spider-Man gave the last of his energy to protect her. With stingers that burst from his wrists, Spider-Man slayed Morlun. Spider-Man then apparently died; however, a new Peter Parker emerged from the old corpse, now more fully embracing his "other" self - his spider personae. Retaining his stingers, he discovered other new abilities including night vision, greater control of his skin adhesive properties, and enhanced sensory perceptions, such as being able to sense the vibrations traveling through his webline. [[Iron Man (Anthony Stark)|Tony Stark]] looking at Peter as his protégé, gave Spider-Man a new technologically advanced costume with a red and gold color scheme as a gift.

=== Choosing Sides, Unmasking, and Switching Teams ===
In the aftermath of a tragedy in Stamford, Connecticut, in which a band of televised heroes were unable to prevent the villain [[Nitro]] from killing an entire elementary school full of children and parts of the surrounding community, the U.S. government propelled forward the Superhuman Registration Act requiring the superhero community to register themselves as living weapons of mass destruction, and reveal their identities to the government. The act was supported by Tony Stark, who became the leader of the Pro-Registration side. The superheroic community was split between registering or refusing and becoming an outlaw. Leading the opposition to the act was [[Captain America (Steve Rogers)|Captain America]], in defense of heroes' right to privacy. To support Iron Man, and perhaps obtain the ever-elusive respect from the public by compliance with the Act, Spider-Man made the difficult decision (with support from May and Mary Jane) to reveal his identity to the world during a press conference. As Spider-Man now faces the danger of public exposure to his family and loved ones, and the prospect of having to capture his renegade friends in what has become an all-out [[Civil War]] in the superpowered community, Peter regretted his decision. After witnessing a prison in the Negative Zone for super humans who refused to register, Parker fled Avengers Tower with his family, clashing with Iron Man during his exit. He aided Captain America and the forces opposing registration, culminating in a major battle during the jailbreak of the heroes imprisoned in the Negative Zone, Captain America's surrender, and the end of the Civil War. Spider-Man has remained a member of the unsanctioned Avengers team in the aftermath. Since Spider-Man's identity is now public knowledge, the Kingpin arranged a sniper to slay the Parker family. Though Mary Jane was spared, Parker was unable to prevent his aunt from getting shot. May was left in a coma on the verge of death. The anguish of yet another loved one injured because of his life as Spider-Man embittered the hero. He resumed wearing his black cloth costume, reflective of the dark times while his Aunt May was precariously close to death. Spider-Man confronted the Kingpin in Ryker's Island prison, and, while unmasked, beat him within an inch of his life, vowing to come back and kill him if Aunt May died.

=== A Brand New Day ===
With time running out, Peter tried several avenues, from the technological to the mystical, to save May's life. At a dead-end, [[Mephisto]] appeared to Peter and Mary Jane offering to prevent May’s death, but at the cost of their holy bond of matrimony. Mephisto also negotiated to arrange for the world to forget Spider-Man's secret identity, so that May and Peter’s other friends and associates would no longer be in danger. After spending one more day together, Mary Jane selflessly took the initiative and agreed to the bargain, knowing Peter would never forgive himself if he rejected a chance to save May. She had faith that their love would be strong enough to reunite them. An indeterminate time later, Peter awoke in a world where his marriage never took place. Living back with Aunt May, alive and well, in his old Forest Hills home, Peter attended a party welcoming home from rehab his old friend Harry Osborn - somehow back from the dead. Spider-Man has also returned to using web-shooters, rather than his own self-generated organic webbing, for reasons that have not yet been disclosed.

bio_text= Angelo Fortunato was often humiliated by his criminal father, organized crime boss Don Fortunato. He was bullied by other people of his age and mistreated by everyone he met. When [[Venom (Eddie Brock)|Eddie Brock]] had a Christian revelation and wished to die clean, he auctioned off the Venom symbiote. Hoping to make his son a man, Don Fortunato bought it for Angelo.

Angelo hoped to become famous and strong with the Venom symbiote. When he donned it, he attacked [[Spider-Man (Peter Parker)|Spider-Man]] at a high school reunion and killed one of his classmates (Seymour Reilly) in an effort to prove himself to his father. Angelo seemed to have access to the skills that Eddie Brock had taken months to learn, but due to his inexperience he was unable to use them to their full potential.
