The young girl known as Vertigo had no known name or any identifiable relatives. She was a native of the Savage Land and mutated by the mutant known as Magneto, granting her the power to alter the perceptions of others. She would leave Magneto's group and later join Mister Sinister's Marauders were she was killed and cloned more than once, only returning to the Mutates on occasion.
