A New Chapter of ‘Marvels’ Is Coming This July

To celebrate the 25th anniversary year of the series, Alex Ross and Kurt Busiek present ‘Marvels Epilogue #1.’

When MARVELS made its debut in 1994, Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross gave Marvel fans a brand new perspective on the Marvel Universe and its heroes. MARVELS spanned decades of Marvel history – and now the story will continue!

This July, Busiek and Ross will join forces once again in MARVELS EPILOGUE #1, a brand new, standalone story that will take place in the 1970s and feature a new “Marvels” look at the “all-new, all-different X-Men” from that decade. The story’s main character, photojournalist Phil Sheldon, is now retired with two adult daughters. While visiting New York City for the holiday season, they find themselves in the middle of a clash between the mutants and the Sentinels.

MARVELS EPILOGUE #1 is co-written by Busiek and Ross, who provides his signature art on the interiors and the cover:

In addition to Ross’s cover, variant covers will be provided by Dave Johnson, Ron Lim, Skottie Young, and Fred Hembeck, plus a Hidden Gem variant cover by Dave Cockrum.

The issue itself will also feature a behind-the-scenes look at the story, giving readers an inside look to the process behind the production and fun facts from the creative team.

MARVELS EPILOGUE #1, written by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross with art and a cover by Ross, goes on sale this July!
