Alex Ross Curates a New Collection of Super Hero Tales in 'Marvel' #1
Featuring creators of all stripes, Ross continues the spirit of 'Marvels' in a new anthology series.
Last year, Marvel celebrated 25 years since the publication of the groundbreaking MARVELS series by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross. Now, in 2020, get ready for a new set of Marvel Super Hero stories told in a brand new way -- MARVEL #1, a new anthology series curated by Alex Ross that goes on sale Wednesday, March 4, will bring together a carousel of creatives to tell several linked stories over the course of six issues.
Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said: "The MARVEL anthology that Alex Ross is curating is a cornucopia of tales spread across the whole of the Marvel Universe as visualized by some of the best artists and creators in the field. This series is very much an artist’s showcase, with Alex bringing his discerning eye to the choice of collaborators, recruiting his favorite practitioners of the art to go to town on some of their mutual favorite characters. It’s going to be a blast for the eyes!"
MARVEL #1 will feature three stories -- the first, starring Spider-Man, kicks off the series and is written by Sajan Saini with art by Frank Espinosa:
Next up is an Avengers story by Kurt Busiek with art by Steve Rude and Steven Legge
Finally, have a look at the story that will connect it all -- a story starring Nightmare written by Alex Ross and Steve Darnall with art by Ross:
