'Guardians of the Galaxy' #11 Will Be a "Big Fight Issue"
Donny Cates' run is winding down -- but not without a cosmic brawl!
Earlier this month at New York Comic Con 2019, Donny Cates announced that he'd be passing the cosmic reigns of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY over to Al Ewing. (Or more accurately, he passed on the Funko POP Groot.) But it's not over just yet -- there's a big battle coming in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #11, which goes on sale Wednesday, November 13. Written by Cates with art by Cory Smith, inks by Victor Olazaba, and colors by David Curiel (plus cover art by Geoff Shaw and Dean White on colors), this penultimate issue is promising to be a big one for Rocket, Groot, Moondragon, and more! Is this the end of the galaxy as we know it?
Marvel.com asked series editor Darren Shan what we can expect from issue #11: “This is our big fight issue! Over the course of the 'Faithless' arc, Groot and Moondragon have been slowly putting together a new team of Guardians after they were attacked by the Universal Church of Truth back in issue #7. Now we finally get to see this new lineup in action! When Donny first pitched this story, he said that the new Guardians of the Galaxy will consist of a raccoon, a tree, a kid, and a dragon. Well, he was true to his word!”
As far as how the series will end, Shan added: “The final issue is going to have some very familiar guest artists that I’m super excited about!”
The end (of this series) is nigh, but the party is far from over!
